by UmaShankar SathyaKumar on Jul 18, 2007 08:19 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There are so many buildings in Mumbai, which are VERY VERY UNSAFE to LIVE. Yet, thousands and thousands of INDIAN CITIZENS live in them knowing that one day some like this will eventually will happen.

On the other side, there are people who spend 60-70 lacs to buy a luxury apartments.

This is one of the biggest achievement of Independent INDIA....

Kill Politicians....CANCER NEEDS CURE!!!

Was there an earth quake?Or did someone deliberately blew up the building? It makes me quite surprised to know that in Mumbai there are buildings built by British and they are still standing proud, whereas some building which were built by our own people have not been able to stand more than 2 decades.

One possible reason ???
by Sunit Kumar on Jul 18, 2007 07:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

One possible reason might be unchecked INTERNAL MODIFICAIONS, which lead to weakening of Columns. Other wise most of the constructions from Harsha Builders (Who Constructed most the CHAYA range of buildings in Borivli) is quiet good.

Any ways lets wait for the real reason.

The main reason behind it must be the seepage due to heavy rainfall and floods, which would have weakened the very foundation.

Vardhaman Jwellers on the ground floor did illegal renovation by knocking off colan beams which made the entire building to collapse.

Jwellery shop owner should be punished.
