Its sad to watch tv these days. The kind of news given by the channels like ibn 7 etc is frightening and foolish. These channels should inform about the hospitals these patients are being taken to as well as the requirement of blood for the patients. Instead of scaring the people and taking some silly interviews with BMC officials. Secondly find out about the kind of repair work which was going on in the building and who was doing it and in whos premises. Go and interview the contractor who was doing the repair work. Take the detailed drawings of the repair work and consult a civil Engineer whether these repair works were endangering the building. I think this would be proper reporting.

there was some repair work going on which could be the cause of collapse...also every year heavy rains cuase a few buildings to fall ...i think this is the second building to collapse this season..BMC has to be blamed for this ..I am sure the BMC workers would have visited the site many times this month sadly to check if thrs any additional board put up by the shopkeepers ..so that they can hafta vasool from them..and they are short of staff when it comes to inspecting the buildings...I would not be surprised if a BMC worker would have been trapped inside (collecting his final ?Hafta)

This is the quality of construction is going on? Who is responsible for this ? Not definitely the contractor/developer, its the municipal officials, who has to check the construction at the design stage as well as at the site stage.
MUMBAI: A six-storey building in a northwestern suburb partially collapsed on Wednesday evening, fire brigade officials said. Reports suggest that as many as 40 people are trapped in the building.
A portion of the Laxmi Chhaya building at Babhai Naka in suburban Borivali collapsed though there were no reports of casualties, they said.
Ten fire engines and paramedic personnel were rushed to the spot.
It seems july month and mumbai has some bad relation. Every year in july something bad happens in mumbai, either it be a local train bomb blast, heavy rains etc. This time I hope july will be passed without any event in mumbai, but this thing happens, very sad.
