Panchkula, Afternoon, 2.45 pm,Tuesday,17th July ,2007. This entire exercise by Sr. Manmohan Singh to be very protective towards Indian Minorities and his anxiety not to let them be stereotyped as terrorists as terrorist/Jehadists /Kharkus (Khalistanis of Nineties ) flows from his losing sleep over his solicitous care for the fair name of Indian Minority community Voters Sikhs and Muslims .Of course , he himself, as Sikh has reasons to fear such blind confusing some criminals as making the entire community to be represented as Kharkus or Jehadis is preposterous .But this also should not be missed that while it is true that all Muslims are not Terrorists , yet in the context of Al Qaeda and its recent years' misadventures it is equally true that all true Terrorists are Brain-washed Muslims .We Indians have been soft on these various nomenclaturas of fascist Thugs in the name of Congress and other parties ' Vote-Banks.If there are genuine people concerned with the rule of Law , and National Security as distinct from segmental concerns of minority -Interests only-this silly ,funny politics of Vote-Banks must be seen as it is . Mamohan Singh or no Manmohan Singh's loss of sleep over Dr. Hanif's family's angsts.D. Goel

I REQUEST THE FBI TO ENQUIRE WHETHER THE KONGRIS PARTY MINISTERS ARE INVOLVED IN THE TERRORISTS ACTIVITIES.,
Everyone is trying to poke his nose and pronouncing judgement. Let the truth come out. If he is really a culprit then he should get the severe punishment and we will back the government of any country in doing so.
Australian government is neither producing any evidence nor they are giving him benifit of doubt which is part of natural justice.
They are behaving like Indian police. Indian police will declare even a butter knife if they find in my home as a weapon. So are the Australian police and government using sim card to harass the fellow. They have made a mockery of their judicial system.
Hats off to common Australian and their human rights wing. They have proved that they are civilised nation being ruled by uncivilised people

MELBOURNE: Indian doctor Mohamed Haneef, charged with supporting a terrorist organisation, was in frequent and extensive contact with two men at the centre of Britain's car-bomb plot on the eve of their failed terror attacks, a media report said on Tuesday.
The online communication between Haneef and the bomb plotters was prolific and that authorities have gathered significantly more evidence against him than that has been disclosed publicly, The Australian reported on Tuesday.
Authorities believe Haneef's attempted hasty exit from Australia on July 2 was directly linked to the arrest of his cousin Kafeel Ahmed, who suffered 90 per cent burns after the failed Glasgow airport attack on June 30.
Computer records obtained by authorities reveal Haneef's close links to both Kafeel and his brother Sabeel continued right up until the failed bombings in Glasgow and in London's West End on June 29, it said.
They also garnered evidence that Haneef's attempt to leave Australia for India on a one-way ticket after the terror attacks in Britain was not linked to family issues, as his relatives have claimed.
In his message sent just before his leaving hours before he tried to leave the country, Haneef made no mention of wanting to leave Australia to visit his baby, born in Bangalore on June 27, or for other family reasons.
This is supported by testimony given to authorities by Haneef's colleagues at Gold Coast Hospital.
UPA GOVERNMENT TRYING ITS LEVEL BEST TO PROTECT AFZAL, NOW ITS GIVING ALL ASSISTANCE TO HANEEF. DO WE NEED MORE PROOF THAN THIS TO PROOVE THAT UPA GOVERNMENT IS PROMOTING TERRORISM. INDIA IS NOT SAFE IN THE HANDS OF UPA GOVERNMENT. INDIANS ARE UNFORTUNATE TO HAVE HOME MINISTER LIKE SHIVRAJ PATIL WHO IS HESITATE TO CALL TERRORISTS AS TERROISTSTHOSE WHO ATTACKED PARLIMET(IF ONE HEAR HIS OLD SPEECHS CAN REALISE) WHAT HAPPENED TO POTA? THEY REMOVE POTA IMMIDIATE AFTER TAKING CHARGE,ARE THEY ENACTED ANY SIMILAR LAWS TO CURB TERRORISM?

Naik Saheb -- yes you desrve a home minister like Advani who accompanies a terrorist responsible for killing many Indians and honourably releasing him in Kandhar.
You deserve a home minister who has to attend court to prove his innocense that he was not involved in demolishion of Masjid.
You deserve a home minister who belongs to RSS which does not recognises the constitution of India.
You desrve a home minister who was enjoying delicious food at home whereas thousands of people were langushing in jail to get the country liberated from British rulers.
You deserve a Home minister whose parent organisation RSS instigated Nathuram Godse to kill Gandhiji who was the main architect of Indian freedom.

CANGRIS PARTY U CAN NOW APPOINT HANEEF AS PRESIDENT AS HE IS FULLY QUALIFIED TO BE A PRESIDENT AS PER UR TERMS...
1) HE IS A TERRORIST 2) HE BELONGS FROM THE REPUTED NON TERRORIST FAMILY 3) HE IS QUALIFIED PERSON FROM A NON TERRORIST COMMUNITY. 4)HE CAN LOOK AFTER THE WELL BEING OF MINORITIES .

sure if congres is in power for another term.... no doubt. Afjal also is in race for vice president for next term
Why 2 talk of Aus laws, fair trial to Haneef, etc.Look into our system of trial.Sexy Monica Bedi is now off the hook and U all will not b surperised to hear one day that our judiciary or a parliamentarian will fly her back to LISBON with her Hubby. Let Haneef face the trial and prove whatever & whoever he is. MEA will do all sorts of nautanki now.
Lets not accuse Haneef just because he is a muslim..its not a hindu-muslim issue but a national one..An Indian is accused and detained in Australia even though they have admitted that he doesn,t have a direct role.. I am sure many a times we would lend our sim cards to friends when leaving the country etc or he might have just forgotten or left the sim card in the room which was taken by these guys..
As for buying a one way ticket his wife has clearly said that he wanted to take his wife and child back with him therefore he wanted to buy their tickets along with his once he has finalised it.
As an Indian living in the UK ,no one is talking about Haneef as a muslim but as an Indian.I am sure we can realise that his wife had just delivered a baby girl and he was coming to see them.I am feeling for the family and the poor little child and god knows what the people around must be talking about the little child knowing the superstitious indian society. As a mother of a little child myself ,I can relate to what his wife must be going through.
LETS ALL THINK IN A FAIR AND COOL MANNER WITHOUT BEING BIASED AND I AM SURE WE WILL ALL KNOW THAT HANEEF IS INNOCENT.

Hi priti,
But if thats the case he must have informed his co-doctors about it and also to the house landlord. He never did that first.Do u think the date of glasgow incident and his australian departure is mere co relational?

FRIENDS, THANK YOU PRITI FOR BEING SO SENSIBLE. ON HANEEF ISSUE I READ A LOT OF COMMENTS IN THIS FORUM, AND I FELT SO ASHAMED SEEING THE COMMENTS FROM MOST OF THE SO CALLED INDIANS(THEY ARE NOT INDIANS,HOW THE LAND OF GANDHI CAN HAVE PEOPLE LIKE THOSE, HINDUS PROTESTING MUSLIMS MUSLIMS IN TURN...IN REAL SENSE THESE PEOPLE ARE THE FUNDAMENTALISTS)PLEASE CONSIDER HIM AS AN INDAIAN FIRST . ALL MUSLIMS ARE NOT TERRORIST...TILL NOW HE IS NOT FOUND GUILTY..THOUGH THEY CHARGED HIM..AS AN INDIAN WE KNOW THAT HOW CLOSE OUR FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS ARE... SO I DONT FIND ANY THING SUSPICIOUS ABT LEAVING THE SIM CARD WITH THE COUSIN..THINK ABT THEIR FAMILY AND HIS SMALL KID...CAN I ASK U ALL AFRANK OPINION.EVEN IF YOU SUDDENLY FOUND OUT YOUR BROTHER OR ANY FAMILY MEMBER IS IN TO SOME ILLEGAL STUFFS...DO YOU ALL GO AND REPORT TO THE POLICE...?

Dear Sreevathsa
I am sure your parents have no moral values which reflects in your upbringing........Shame on you for the language you used in your post.
Coming to your question, my answer is any body who is involved in any terorist activity should be either hanged or shot.I do not care he is Muslim or anyother religion.afzal is quilty he "SHOULD BE HANGED". No hesitation about it.
Haneef handed over his sim to his friend ..who used in terrorist activity...how it shows his involvement in the terrorist activity particulary when its firstr case in history of India that a Doctor is arrested in terroist activity and all Indians are shocked....
Common guys.... its easy to call a person terrorist, sitting at your home and watching the television. Imagine yourself at his place. They have charged him because he has taken simcard contract on his name for his cousine, who happened to be a terrorist! I know its common here in UK to take simcard contracts like this and then lend them to ur frnds or relatives. But you cannot charge a person with a serious crime for this action!! By the way I am so glad that India shown its guts to ask the Australian government to handle it's citizen properly. I feel proud to be an Indian and feel more confident to work outside our country now...

Please mind your words. Handing over a SIM card is very natural. If that is the reason for continued detention, it is a crime. If there is any other solid and acceptable reason, then he has to go through the punishment. Why Indian government is showing some interest is because an australian minister had acted as an indian politician.
