dude, one way ticket can be bought for other reasons too, like if you are not sure of your day of return, you don't want to pay a penalty for rebooking for a different date etc. It does not make sense to talk about one way ticket.

dear Mary.....don't be a *fool.....one way tickets r always more costly than buying two way tickets........people buy them only when they r very sure the will not return........in case date of return is not known........they buy an open return ticket which is valid for 6 months..........
RE:Reputation of Haneef Vs India

What would your wife be doing in a similar situation mister??
There is courage and forth-rightedness in Firdousa's words. She does not want her family's reputation to be tarnished by this allegation and wants her husband to set foot on Indian soil only after coming clean that she is confident he would.
I am happy that hers is not a leftist-pseudo secular line that would have been like "he has not done anything wrong; if he has done it, forgive him since we belong to minority and it is his right to indulge in such acts" The words may not be correct, maybe I may have to consult Karat or Dr.Singh.
Anyways fact remains youth today is abound with many such Haneefs and it is the duty of the government to root this evil out with an iron hand. Statements like 'I lost sleep...', 'Dont label any group...' and 'Terrorists have no religion..' just serve to fan the tensions, suspicion and hatred. The PM should talk on behalf of the state, mincing no words. And for God's sake the PM should understand he is not a Gandhi leading a mass movement but the head of a state suffering big-time from the disease called terrorism.
The media reports appear to suggest that this is a case of an innocent person getting entangled in terrorist activities for no fault of his.His fault was that he trusted and helped his cousin with a valid SIM card %u2013 something that we all may innocently indulge in with not only relatives but also friends and acquaintances. The question is this the world we are arriving at where helping, talking or associating with a fellow human will risk our own lives and those of our loved ones. What kind of a religious ideology do people like Sabeel and Kafeel subscribe to that endangers, imperils, &ruins lives of their relatives, members of their religious community and countrymen.I have muslim friends who are truly troubled and helpless that such misguided and indoctrinated muslim youths are a curse to their religion. Their concern is that they have their children and families to take care of. Increased activities may affect their jobs and businesses as soon there will be a backlash both in the country and abroad. Their only option then would be to hide their identity as muslims. The Maulvis %u2013 the so called conscious keepers of the Muslim religion, issue fatwas at the drop of a hat, for every damn thing under the sun. They must emphatically issue fatwa on this matter? Is this not a matter grave enough for the entire muslim community to be looked upon with suspicion? Under the circumstances, to me, their silence seems to convey a very loud voice. My sympathies to Firdaus & her daughter.

Mr Sethi,
I agree with you. Muslim clergy leaves no time in issuing wholesale FATWAS day & night. They never condem or issue their cheap FATWAS on such matters where TERRORISM is involved. Mrs Firdaus pledges that her Husban is innocent & framed. Has any Terrosist agreed in the current cases going in courts that they are Terrorists? All Muslim terrorists are innocent except that they kill innocent people with no reason & then claim ISLAM is very Peacefull religion. Sorry, they should agree that ISLAM is Piecesfull religion in this World
Australia is not India. There are some formalities to be fulfilled. If you are not guilty, why are you shouting ? If you are innocent, u will definitely prove yourself. God is great. Since they have certain clues, they are grilling. You leave Dr.haneef, How about Safeel & Kaffel, the reputation of India is hanging. Pl don see any religious or caste or ethnic in terrorism.
An Australian media report has claimed that Haneef was in touch with Sabeel and Kafeel regularly over the Internet. Again, he did not inform any of his colleagues that he was going to India to see his newborn baby. Also the undue haste with which he was trying to leave Australia on a one-way ticket, all give rise to suspicion that Haneef was involved in the whole thing, one way or the other. If a person is found guilty of a crime, he/she must be severely punished, regardless of their nationality.

Harish,
It will not give doubt only that Haneef was involved but it will emerge that he is actually involved. All innocent Muslims are TERRORIST & Govt. should scan every Muslim deeply in such matters. Not to be trusted at all.
Madam Firdous... you are totally misinformed. There is no need to shed crocodile tears... your husband was part of the conspiracy. Khafeel tried to commit suicide because the car bombs did not go off and he would be caught anyway. Nevertheless he is caught because he was still alive when the flaming jeep stormed into the Glasgow airport.
Now, you and your husband pack your bags to either Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan who need your services more than any other country.
Meanwhile, be thankful that there is India to receive him back when he is deported from Australia. If it was in the hands of your hubby and his cousins, they would have blown off India too into tatters !

Mr Kumaran,
You said well.
I suggest all Muslims should be given a secon time chance after 1947 now that if they so wish they can leave for Pakistan, Saudi or any other muslim country. No other country will take them

Is india trustable? Whatever happened in Haneef case is completely because of biasness of Australian and british police. His only fault was that he gave his SIM card to his cousing. Here, i must say that many of returning indian sell his SIM card for 5 pounds only. If next person is terrorist then he is screwed. WHy not we just destroy our sim card rather than getting 5 pound?
Haneef have every right to claim for loss of his reputation. This is completely stupidity of australian police that they become hypersensitive.

India has not lost any respect in this whole process of investigation against Haneef. Rather Australian police and their friends (British police) have lost their credibility. They have not proven anything against Haneef within this whole period of detention. I am not sure why are you cursing this lady. Even if her husband was guilty, then still we can not blame that lady for the sin of her husband. But in this case we still dont know whether Haneef is guilty.
