Nehru, Edwina were in love
by Dr. P Madhava Rao on Jul 15, 2007 05:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Agreed but in what way this research help India grow better? In which way had it any relation to Indian growth policies? What is the wrong if a man and woman opened their hearts and spoken about themselves? After four decades of a death of a man how does it matter? Let us look into our own hearts and give language to our heart beats if we can be honest to ourselves.

There is nothing wrong that a man and woman open their hearts... but it seems that they opened their pants also.

Pagle, he was our first PM , hai naa .. so instead of fighting the azadi ki laddai, he was busy .. gulcharre uda raha tha .. Lady Mountbatten ke saath .. agar apne kaam pe dhyan diya hota.. may it is just possible that we could have become independent by 1942 instead of 1947

Nehru - Edwina affair was a personal matter. There is no evidence to support that it costed us kashmir.

Insurgency in Kashmir didn't start until late seventys

People who blame nehru for the current wrong and partition really need to get their facts right. If ever a statesman existed ..it was nehru. Today if India is known for its IT sector, its was Nehru foresight that we have to thank, who set up IITs in 50s and put in so much money in reserach centers or in retaining english as official langaufge of this country..If indians have an edge over china is thanks to our linguistic capability in english. Its so annoying when people blabber without getting thier facts write. Pls read and then comment . I agree with the person before me that personal life should be parameter to judge anyone's public work.
Please read India after Independence...you dont apprecaite enought what your leaders post independent have done for you. You dont apprecaite how much your country has achieved in 60 years...

I agree with you. Nehru was one of the persons whom we can thank for todays technological prowess of India. But one person every one seem to forget is the late Annadurai. With out his strong stands aganist making Hindi, the medium of education none of this would have been possibile. I.T is basically a souther India lead revolution.

Foolish Dora, U know nothing .. Russia, Germany, China , Japan, France, Spain .. none of these countries know English ..Still they are the most developed countries .. so English is not a plus point .. If we would have been speaking .. all the englishmen would have learnt Hindi .. Understand .. and U Idiot .. go to Dubai to see what can be achieved in just 25 years .. do not blabber what good Nehru had done .. he was a idiot who made ppl lazy ... and told them that Bhilai steel plants etc were for the ppl and not vice versa .. Hence despite of being such huge Plants they have been incurring losses .. coz ppl don't work at all or they work at only 10% of their efficieny .. Dora, we would have become superpower in 60 years .. but Bçoz of the wrong policies of Congress, we have not achieved the progress as much as we should have..Look at Germany and Japan .. they were totally shattered and lost after WWII .. and now they are again standing tall ..

All said and done, this is a promotion for "India Remembered: A Personal Account of the Mountbattens During the Transfer of Power" where his daughter "Pammy" admits that the last viceroy of India, Lord Mountbatten, could not control his 'philandering wife' Edwina.

Ms Dora Burns,

Once upon a time we gaped at our public figures and / or celebrities in awe; now we study every strach, scar, nip, tuck and abrasion.

No question is too small or insignificant for us to look at closely.

If they chose to be in the public domain then so be it. Even 60 years later ... warts and all.

What's more as 'consumers' of the resulting books, plays, movies, videos and photographs -- that's us -- are not primarily looking to be entertained or transported. We're just looking for data, more and more data, the more raw the better.

There two things true about Congress Party.
1. It is party of a** lickers (Chatnte walon ki party) and they are always on look for new ones. After Gandhiji, Nehruji, Indiraji, Sanjayji, Rajivji, Soniaji, Priyankaji and Rahulji, party members are looking for new ....ji, to go for it. May be waiting for Priyanka's kids.
2. It is only party (may be unique) which has been encashing "Hamne Desh Ko Azzadi Dilaai" check again and again since last 60 years and there is no sign of stopping even now. They are simply ignoring the contribution of others.

When do we stop peeping?
by Naveen Kumar on Jul 15, 2007 05:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Every person has a personal life and we cant simply take the liberty of commenting on it without his/her permission. All that should matter to us whether the person incurred his/her duties towards us sincerely or not. The life politicians and actors his a hell with everyone, esp the media peeping into their personal lives. This is a very wrong habit which have cultivated and we need to get rid of it.
I am open to discussion on this topic. Your views are most welcome.

My view is that U are a idiot, Naveen Kumar ... If one wants to do aiiyashi in his/her life .. then he/she should not be a public figure .. may be tomorrow your daughter/grand daughter will do something nasty and say .. Chacha nehru bhi to Edwina aunty ke saath masti karte thee ... then what will U reply buddy .. so never support unethical things .. If Nehru did something wrong, then one must condemn it .. got it , Buddy

Better deal
by VARUN MADAN on Jul 15, 2007 05:05 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Or may be guys, who have written below, fail to understand that may be this relationship helped india in getting a better deal and we didn't loose hyderabad, kashmir during partition. There was no other option than to create pakistan or a hindu majority country would have to be ruled by jinnah, fundamentalist. So don't talk crap and forget nehru's love life. As long as he did his job alright, i feel we shouldn't criticize hime. also look at clinton, whatever his personal life may be, he was perhaps the best us president of all times.
so don't just criticize, use your brains. And wake up indians. We look for equality when we go abroad and at home we practise casteism, look down at lower classes.
Correct your attitude if you want to help india. Criticize corruption when others do and follow it in our own backyards. Have you paid bribes to babus, have you encroached on government land. Probably all of us have. So guys don't talk like a saint.

Good Point.

First Nehru and Edwina's affair was a personal matter between the two. Second, no national interest was compromised.

The gene was passed on to Indira too who wanted to win the Priyadarshini Award & therefore had the Kashmir War stopped midway. She had her Award & Fame. But the casualty in between was the Indian Army & Nation which had to pay untold prices (& is still paying.)
A friend of my father who is an Army Veteran from that time confirms this when he ads, "The General openly called her a 'Bitch'." & as for Nehru, remeber he was made PM only because his father Motilal was the Main Sponsor of Congress & it was his wish.

DEAR VARUN
I AM SORRY BUT CLINTON DIDNT FALL IN LOVE WITH A MARRIED WOMAN. SECONDLY BECAUSE OF NEHRU WE ARE STILL SOLVING THE KASHMIR PROBLEM WHERE AS SARDAR PATEL THE IRON MAN OF INDIA WOULD HAVE SOLVED IT THEN. NEHRU WAS JUST ANOTHER CASANOVA ALL HE WANTED WAS FAME IN THE EYES OF WORLD AND FOR THAT HE SACRIFISED KASHMIR. LOOK AT WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO KASHMIR TODAY. IF U WATCH MOVIE "SARDAR" U WILL KNOW. SARDARS PATEL'S DIALOGUE WAS "JAWAHAR PACHTAYEGA" WHEN NEHRU SAID ON ALL INDIA RADIO THAT KASHMIR ISSUE WILL BE SOLVED WITH CONSENT OF UNITED NATIONS. SO NEHRU GOT HIS FAME AND MAY BE LOVE FROM MOUNTBATTENS WIFE BUT WHAT WE HAVE TODAY IS TOTALY DESTROYED KASHMIR. THANK YOU CHACHA NEHRU OR SHULD I SAY CASANOVA NEHRU
