Key Katara witness alleges being poisoned
by S Kiran on Jul 13, 2007 11:38 AM  Permalink

Where are the human rights activists? They show up only when terrorists are criminals (like Sohrabuddin) are killed.

They should be called terrorist rights activists.

Mysterious

How strange. Looks like this Ajay Katara is either seeking "incentive" from DP Yadav family, or he genuinely was poisoned. Very fishy, whatever the truth may be. In the process let us hope that justice does not get subverted.

Poisoning Witnesses, Threatening Witnesses, Bribing Witnesses Are Condoned By Whom ?
by Indur Chhugani on Jul 12, 2007 07:07 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The courts in India refuse to take action for contempt and perjury, so the people and police officers have been lying and changing statements with impunity ... secure in the belief that all they MIGHT get is a scolding from the court.

All this must change or else matters will go downhill faster, the witnesses are being openly threatened and offered money to change statements ... and the courts plead either helplessness or initiate action and then let the case drag on and on and on.

What we require is a strong peoples movement to take on the arrogant, corrupt Government officials and politicians, Rogues in the Police force and the Judiciary... JOIN IN NOW. CITIZENS POLICING THE CORRUPT AND POLICE IS A MUST TODAY.

the 2nd one is related to Narayana Murthy Of INFOSYS, who has also spent 5 days in jail, much before me.

Former Chief Justice of India in a benchmark judgment in T Arivandandam vs TV Satyapal had at that time (seventies) stressed the importance of courts being pro active and immediately taking action in all cases of giving false evidence i.e. perjury. Another more recent benchmark judgment is also Suo Moto vs Mr R Karuppan where the SC took stern action against Karuppan for Perjury, and again stressed that courts should not spare anyone giving false evidence. Pity that our courts have by and large ignored these directives.
