Thank God !
by best solutions on Jul 16, 2007 11:53 AM  Permalink

I am really happy seing people are mow talking sense. instead of blaming people, muslims etc we have now realised that religion has nothing to do with terrorism. its just the way we look and understand.i think the way the discussions were moving were only creating walls between people whch will only break india rather than uniting. Its a straight fact.. all religions in india have to stay together like brothers we may like or we may dislike beacuse their is no option. so why not choose the better option of staying - happily. and lets try suggesting people to keep religion in their hearts and indoors of their houses.Otherwise it will be never ending story which will only scatter us and trust me if we all break now.. we will not be able be stay together!
So my frnds.. lets make our today better for the best tomorrow. thanks

Terrorism is certainly not a Muslim monopoly
by Patriotic on Jul 15, 2007 05:34 PM  Permalink

SWAMINATHAN S ANKLESARIA AIYAR

''All Muslims may not be terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims.'' This comment , frequently heard after the Mumbai bomb blasts implies that terrorism is a Muslim specialty, if not a monopoly. The facts are very different.

First, there is nothing new about terrorism.. In 1881, anarchists killed the Russian Tsar Alexander II and 21 bystanders. In 1901, anarchists killed US President McKinley as well as King Humbert I of Italy . World War I started in 1914 when anarchists killed Archduke Ferdinand of Austria . These terrorist attacks were not Muslim.

Terrorism is generally defined as the killing of civilians for political reasons. Going by this definition, the British Raj referred to Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and many other Indian freedom fighters as terrorists. These were Hindu and Sikh rather than Muslim.

Guerrilla fighters from Mao Zedong to Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro killed civilians during their revolutionary campaigns.. They too were called terrorists until they triumphed. Nothing Muslim about them.

In Palestine , after World War II, Jewish groups (the Haganah, Irgun and Stern Gang) fought for the creation of a Jewish state, bombing hotels and installations and killing civilians. The British, who then governed Palestine , rightly called these Jewish groups terrorists. Many of these terrorists later became leaders of independent Israel - Moshe Dayan, Yitzhak Rabin, Menachem Begin, Ariel Sharon.

RE:Additions to Pritish Nagaraj's post below... Hinduism in a nutshell
by Pritish Nagaraj on Jul 15, 2007 01:13 AM  Permalink
Yes you are right, But Swarg is not the one that one (wisest of all) should be aiming at as per Bhakti yog, it is Sayujya / Samipya in Vaikuntha and there is one beyond that.

Swarg is like a resort where you go just spend whatever you have and when you run out of money you got to come back to work, that is Bhulok. There is no concept of karma in higher mortal planets, its only on earth.

by Pritish Nagaraj on Jul 14, 2007 10:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

DO NOT CRIB about Conversion or Terrorism if you are one of these -

Contemporary Hindu Imaginary Idealistic mentality -

1> Children of Hindu parents are stuffed up with Material Goals.

&nb sp;     1> beta bade hoke bohoth paisa aur naam kamao. ( Dear son you grow up and become a filthy rich man and be glorified with name and fame)

2> Agar thum is baar distinction mein paas ue tho hum mandir mein bhent chadayenge ( We'll make a owe that If you get distinction we'll make an offering in the temple)

3> Maharaj ji isse aashirvaad dijiye ke meri beti is baar dance competition mein first aaye. ( Requesting a saint to bless the child so that she win first prize in dance competition)

4> Ganesh ji ka stothr bolo beta, thumhari padhayi achchi hogi aur padhayi mein dhyan ayega (Chant Ganesh ji's Verses you will do good in your studies and will improve on concentration on studies)

5> Beta bade ho ke IAS karoge ya Engineer Doctor banoge ? (Dear son, do you want to do IAS or become doc /engineer when you grow up)

2> Adulthood of such children -

1> I have burnt the midnight oil to reach this position in my life, Its time to have fun !

2> Temple !!, no I'm happy with whatever shloka, that my mom taught me, I'm chanting infront of the Ganesh jis photo after taking bath in the evening !

3> May be it was leaders in the society who wanted to create some fear in the minds of public to stop them from commiting crime they came up with the idea of God !

4> Come on show me first if he exisits, show me one person who has seen God.

5> Kaliyuga is coming to end ( one of my colleagues told me this, he was shocked when I in turn told him Dwapara yuga ended just 5000 years ago and it has 3,60,000 years remaining)

6> Is it not funny to believe that God is blue in color? ( referring to Shri Krishna).

7> You must honestly serve your profession and that itself will give you Swarg (My childhood friend who is a Dentist now told me quoting his father).

8> Mere daad Swarg vaasi ho gaye, My Grandpa passed away is resting in heaven (Assuming that Swarg/ Heaven means immortality, but the scriptures say Swarg is just like another material planet with more lavish life but with death decease and oldage after which one will come back to earth)

9> I do not believe in God and all that, Chill its all imagination !

10> I believe in doing good and being good, there is no need of God here.
