a wise decision by Sri Nitish Kumar. Dr.Kalam is a distinguished human being in every sense of the term, of whom every patriotic Indian can bejustifiably proud.
Now I have a definite idea that Rediff's editors are keen to see the squabbling, factious, sectarian posts that divide the people; otherwise how can one explain the fact that the article speaks of Kalam being appointed visitor to Nalanda University and a message by a certain Uma Kumar about something totally irrelevant complaining about Rediff ignoring the Lal Masjid episode in Pakistan, with the moderator disabling the abuse option?
This is utterly disgusting high- handed behaviour and goes against all fair play. For my part I consider the matter closed HERE, but to take up with the guys running the site.
Now back to the topic: I'm glad that one President has the vision to look back to our past that is any day greater than the present, and work towards recreating the atmosphere of that age. That's Kalam's greatness, humility and vision. It hardly matters what degree you hold if you don't use your brains thereafter! Aren't the millions of degree holders accepting the country being run by a person holding matric certificate? And you are complaining about Kalam?!
I can only hope that the Nalanda University project will not remain on paper, nor echo the disastrous colleges we have where academia is boring and breathing it's last breath, may it be a scene of creativity and audacious proposals that drag educated India out of this quagmire of conservative tedium.

I hv heared that he was an aeronautical engineer and I hv no idea re. the further study he has done and in which stream. However if I accept what u r saying then u are perhaps meaning that he is a great scientist in our nuclear science. Now kindly help me by informing what is our status in nuclear science in respect to China and Pakistan. Pls dont get angry rather it will be better if u give the detail.

It is becoz he has worked for his greatness in a bureacratic environment. tell me whatother field India PSU has achived anything related to science. He has sacrificed his personal life to achieve something for the society. Finally he has maintained his decency even in politics. Lastly, stop personalizing everything in India, personality in politics , bureacracy and nation is countries greatest curse.
Well done nitish, Dr kalam wanted everyone to dream of something to achieve.....but its really heartening to know that one of his own dream is goin to come true.....hats up to nitish

It will be a great honour for bihar that eminent , dignified and a saint like our Honerable Mr. President will be part of the proposed international university in Nalanda, Bihar. This shows a good sign and seriousness to do some thing by Bihar policians. Any way it is too early to conclude any thing but yes needs to be appreciated. Good move by bihar-keep it up.
I think its a great idea to have him in Bihar's education system as Dr.Kalam has great influence on India's new generation. It is a right decision at right time for the people in Bihar and India. If Dr.Kalam and Dr.Sen is in the helm of affairs of Nalanda University this would be one of the best universities in short time. Wise decision by Mr.Nitish Kumar....
He was associated with Anna University, Chennai, before he became the president. Well... he is being offered a visitor position at Nalanda univ... thats good. But this is no compensation for how he was ill-treated during his Presidentship. Classic example is the office of profit bill!
