The world is going to Suffer
by cattamanchi chaitanya on Jul 03, 2007 10:10 AM  Permalink

Its purely bcox of Global warming .. For the last 3 years , we have seen increase in Global Temperatures ..Even in India, we are seeing an increase of 3 to 4 degrees ..What can we do about this ...

As an individual , the only thing we can do is to plant as many trees as we can..Its not only planting , but also see that they grow well ..

Reduce the use of Vehicles , instead of taking ur bike or car for atleast distances less than 1-2 Kms , use ur legs ..It will be very good for ur health too ..

Corporates have to increase the number of buses .There by reducing the usage of Cars , bikes ..Not only Corporates , the number of Buses,Local Railways must be made more feasible such that the total number of vehicles on the road can be reduced .

Everyone should think what else they can do to reduce the Global warming ..

Rainfall in Mumbai
by Rajesh Vyas on Jul 03, 2007 10:00 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sir:

Please stop creating sensation and panic among people of Mumbai. A rainfall of mere 32 mm in three hours between 0230 hrs and 0530 hours in early July is hardly severe rainfall for MUMBAI.

It is hightime the news media behaved in a responsible manner and stopped creating sensation with news not worthy of reporting.

Bombay used to be the best place to be in during the monsoons , however now with rampant construction, conversion of lakes into high rises, cutting down of trees, lakhs of villagers rushing into Bombay every year & illegal encroachment on drainage systems ..... now even if a dog pisses , the city gets flooded. Plus all the taxes paid by the Bombaywalas goes to building new roads in Delhi ..... Thanks to the UPA.

Absolutely correct. I think we should all stop paying all municipal taxes. do not pay a single naya paisa to the govt.. Instead contribute the same money to the Local Arear Fund and manage and maintain the locality ourselves...If all of us do this ..we can guarantee a better place for all.

Pune is not because of Mumbai....this is a highly irresponsible statement. Pune was the throne to the Maratha kingdom long before Mumbai was known to people. Pune has been the foremost in Industrialization..far ahead of Mumbai. Anyways, no point in comparing as both are parts of Maharashtra. But, please check history before making such unrealistic statements.

Its global warming...!!!
by Manish Panjwani on Jul 03, 2007 09:38 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think the size of rain itself is increasing.. It's too much and in such a short duration.

I believe it is because of Global warming. It's changing such as rainfall patterns, snow and ice cover, and sea level.

Whom to blame!!!

by PKA APK on Jul 03, 2007 09:34 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Because of global warming, the processes are fastening. Water evaporation will also be higher& Rain fall also be higher. You might have read abt Amarnath Lingam melted completely... because of global warming only. Earth is getting hot...

Every individual has to do something for this & not only the politicians.
