For those of you using foul language on this forum about Global Warming, just look around your own house.
Count the tables, chairs, closets, beds, furniture, etc., etc., made from wood (trees).
Global Warming is caused by the rise in Carbon Di-Oxide. The Carbon-Dioxide which is absorbed by plants and trees at night, are being chopped down for your furniture at home and office.
So the only way this earth is going to survive a global warming is by starting to plant trees on every square meter of this planet and then you will see the earth's climate returning to normal.
So stop scaring the public with the Global Warming Hype. Do something about it and start creating a log with the name of each individual on this planet and how many trees each one has contributed - instead of scaring the public with USLESS & Senseless writing.

They are doing their duty of bringing about awareness sir. Not everybody is as knowledgeable as you are. Some people need the information and that's what media is trying to give. They are not scaring anyone. They are just bringing the facts into the open.GLOBAL WARMING IN ITSELF IS SCARY. No need to scare any further. regarding planting the trees it's not about a person or two. It's about the entire community. And for that to happen awareness by and large is necessary. thank you.

Global warming and emission of Green house gases is much more complicated than CO2 emission. Do you know Methane is also a green house gas and is emitted by vegitation. Green house gases only keep our planet warm. It is very difficult to maintain the ecological balance and any overdrive will tilt it. Even planting too many fast growing tees will deplete the earth of minerals etc. Burning carbon is the natural way of obtaining energy, even our body does that (cabon from food, oxygen from air and out goes CO2). Basically we are over poputated. Reduce the human population to 30% - 40% of todays and all problems will disappear

You are bang on point. It's time that each individual look back and help the depleting ozone layer and group against those who cut trees for flimsy reasons.
All those guys crying fowl after 26/7, stating Mumbai to be severed from Maharashtra ....... why dont we make Calcutta a seperate state....for better handling situations like these?? I think WB govt has failed to take care of the city with folks from othre parts of WB pouring into Calcutta......they have dirtied the city.

Sir, the rains were there for all the years mother earth has seen and mumbai has seen....but the proportion its has taken in the past couple of years and the causes of destruction of mumbai is well known.....immigration is a key factor....

make ur statistics clear. Last year mumbai received more than 1400 mm of rain in a single day. Do u have any idea what that means? Make your basics clear and then speak. Mumbai had never seen such a downpour in time it remembers. Such proportions are not managable by even the most developed countries like USA and UK. Study the circumstances that followed Katrina and u will know.

Dear friends global warming is a true phenomenon. If you don't believe it, it's left to you. But please don't blame others for what they believe.............atleast in this case you are in darkness. Open your eyes my fellow earthlings. We have done enough damage to our fragile planet. Please go through this link http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/basicinfo.html which has enough scientific evidences about global warming, its cause and effect. Thank you for your co-operation. Lets's start doing our part to save our planet.
There was a time when the mumbaikars used to look forward to rains. But now rains of an hour become headlines, and frankly the News Channels act in the most irresponsible manner by creating fear in the minds of people. Its nothing by Nonsense 24 X 7.
Problem in Mumbai has worsened because of the Mismanagement and absolutely Zero Planning of the City. The BMC / MMRDA / Politicians are all busy filling in their coffers. Out of 100 sanctioned for a work, 70 is taken in by these people and the work done is of 30, so but naturally it will be a ahabby work. Development is being done without proper care or study about the overall effect of the same. The builders' lobby has the ministers in their pockets.
Its high time Mumbai has one independent agency which can look after the Planning / Infrastucture of this City rather than so many different organizations who have mastered the Blame Game.

You can't do much planning when most of the country's resources are poured into a few cities like Mumbai, Kolkatta, Hyd, Chennai etc., while the rest of the country is starved of funds.
This will induce a MASSIVE influx of folks into these cities, and quite obviously, the infrastructure isin't able to cope.
Having lived in Mumbai in the past for 3 yrs., I can clearly see the city can't realistically hold more than 500,000 people.
A more equitable distribution of resources between the cities & rural areas is LONG overdue. This will perhaps stop folks from flocking to cities by the horde, thereby putting a HUGE strain on local infra.
Cities like Mumbai can realistically hold no more than 5 lakh people at the most, given its present infra.
However, our system pours in way too much $$$ into cities like Mumbai, Kolkata whilst grossly ignoring the rest of the country. Obviously, this will induce a massive influx of people into these cities.
It all seems fine, but when disasters like rains strike, the local infrastructure is unable to cope.
I really don't see why our authorities don't seem to get the clue that a few cities like Mumbai can't sustain the weight of the whole nation.
A more equitable distribution of resources (in cities & in rural areas) is long overdue and developing rural communes & cities proportionally will perhaps ensure that people don't flock into cities like Mumbai and choke out its infra.
I hope no educated Indian believes that this so called "free market" is roses & bloom.

This is where rain-management is required. Monsoon is seasonal and water is expected to be stored for the drier seasons. If our farmers practice water management and storage....alas with support of the government, they will never prosper.....

It's time that we need to look at Rain Water Harvesting seriously. It has been successfully implemented in TN when Jayalalitha was the CM. This would help the farmers during Summer season.

Proprieters who control the media are trying to SCARE Indians so that they will be Mentally SICK characters and fall for CHEAP gimmicks such as global warming.
Lets ASSUME the globe is warming. So what? If thats all life is meant to be on this earth, LET IT BE. Can these media MORONs stop the change.
Stop acting like some of these religious FREAKS who trys to make a fast buck by scaring the public.
Idiots! ABSOLUTLY useless IDIOTS the fellows who run the media - newspaper, TV, magazines, etc.
Dont these MEDIA tycoons realise that their lives are also short lived on this planet with the global warming ? That is if the globe is really warming ????

Unless we stop materialism which cause the rich becoming richer and the poor becoming poorer, there is no hope that ONE can stop this global warming. So the rich will be baked richly and, the poor, poorly.
