US have more than 15 SuperAirCraft Carriers, USS Nimitz is one of them. Throughout the year, these carriers r visiting 100s of ports worldwide.......and chennai is one of them....
Have you heard any nuclear radiation or security threat incidents during these visits..

Say whatever you might, but something definitely is fishy here. This visit by a US carrier is not routine or out of goodwil but reeks of intention. Not on the backdrop of the "Ramar Sethu" that has become the centrepoint of a huge controversy at present. I remember a comment last week posted by some avid writer on this blog - "The said structure is not a bridge but natural formation of a material that is used in the Nuclear Processes." The visit by an American vessel may well have been undertaken in this interest i.e. the divers on board may secretly (or with undercover permission from the Govt. of India)go to the said spot for further investigation. As it is, the US is supporting the "Sethu Samudram Dredging Project." The deposits are well in their interest.

Sections of our political class that are kicking up dust over the visit of the US nuclear powered aircraft carrier, the USS Nimitz, may not see the irony of it all. Outsiders looking in, however, ask, Is India a nuclear weapon power or what? We prided ourselves on saying no to port calls from the naval vessels of the great powers. Although our activism had no impact on the real world, our diplomats were happy to win the disarmament beauty contests in Geneva. Our security establishment and our anti-nuclear activists seemed to be on the same page; both felt good about saying the honorable thing about disarmament. One would have thought our atomic innocence ended when New Delhi defied the world and declared it a nuclear weapon power in May 1998. While the Indian government is learning to forget some of the old propaganda, the word has not filtered down to the CPM, the Telugu Desam, the AIADMK and many other political parties. Put simply, the outrage of these parties at the visit of the USS Nimitz can partly be attributed to an enduring national trait nuclear hypocrisy. If the protesters are seriously opposed to nuclear weapons they should be asking the Indian government to undertake unilateral disarmament. Earlier this summer, a large Indian naval contingent was operating far from our shores and exercising with many Southeast Asian countries, the US, Japan, China and Russia. Last summer when the Indian navy was ordered to evacuate Indian citizens from war-torn Lebanon, India got the badly needed assistance from the US warships in the Mediterranean. India in turn extended the favour to Nepal and Sri Lanka by picking up their citizens stranded in Lebanon. The maritime universe does not lend itself to the simple verities of the Left protesters against the Nimitz. In the post-Cold War world, navies around the world highly value and actively seek greater cooperation with one another. As one of the worlds leading maritime nations, there is no reason for India to deny itself the benefits of international naval cooperation.

For many a generation, the Indian establishment desperately sought to prevent outsiders from intruding on our sovereign space. As a nuclear weapon power with a trillion dollar economy, India now begins to impinge on the rest of the world. In the past India was a mere victim of an international order over which it had no control. What India now needs is a national security mindset that corresponds with its emergence as a system-shaping power.

Pray let us know wani, how a ships docking in Chennai could sell the country? Even Indian Navies ship - INS Delhi, docked in US port sometime back. Did the yankees go about crying that we were buying the US? Indians get senti for no reason at all... When you have a Kalpakkam Nuclear plant running without any International Safeguards in Chennai, and all we have is the word of our Corrupt Babus and Politicians to go by, for the safety of the Plant... Why are we unduly worried about safety of a Nuclear Aircraft Carrier, that has worked impeccably for past 30 years?

I am no congress supporter. I resent the present government setup of dummies. But, you can question ak anthony's judgement.., not his integrity. Why should Indian government to allow to such type of nuclear war ship to our India water. When they are not paid proper compensation in Bhopal Gas tragedy then why we should consider they demand. WE are begging nearly 2 years for energy of Nuclear but every time in the last movement the agreement was cancelled and added with new agreement and that also will take more times. Our government is also made some mistakes for which we have to begg him. Even they are against our NON ALIGNMENT but we have to go as per their directions WHY?? Actual our country itself so many propblems we are not able to remove our corrupiton for last 60 years and this is the main reasons we are not build up our house proper manner. Just for your Info..This carrier though the authorities claim that its not carrying any Nuclear weopons, the ship itself is a nuclear operated vessel and everybody is aware of it.And also all the aircrafts aboard are supposed to have some nuclear warheads in it.

Tamilnadu has the most number of nuclear power plants in INDIA and the future of generating electricity is going to be Nuclear. So you mean India free from all nuclear power plants, weapons, ships (we will also have nuclear ships in future)

There is no need for explanation whether it any nuclear weopons or not but why he want to enter our see water. If he required any assistance let them pay the huge amount for using our see water. When he is not paid Bhopal loss why we allowed enter into our water.
