Bangladesh has also similar complaints. Actually we must understand that a good part of Bangladesh-India border is occupied by forests and mountains where regular watching is practically impossible. Terrorists from both sides take shelter there. If you call that safe-haven you can.

Rohingas from Myanmar are refugees in Bangladesh, They spend miserable sub-human life and many of them have been engaged in crime, even terror. Bangladeshis/Nepalese immigrants Guwahati are there in search of better living. But those who did not succeed may easily get involved in crimes / terrors. Illegal immigrants should not be welcome in any part of the world.

Outlook - bad
by Sandeep Kudalkar on Jan 20, 2007 01:32 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I see little chance that India can stop these Bangla-Pak activities. The Indian nation state is fouded on multi-culturalism and and is secular. The Hindu's themselves have no sense of unity. The large population of poor have to struggle with progressively diminishing resources as population booms. This makes inciting divisive movements very easy either as Hindu-Muslim or by ethnicity. Even if India wins a war against Pakistan and Bangladesh, the soft hearted Indian political leadership will never bring itself to deal a fatal blow to these nations. So my dear Indian bretherin, enjoy your time of prosperity under hindu rule for the next 20-40 years. After that, its back to the time of despotic Islamic dominance.

What has IB and RAW been doing?
by Ayon Pradhan on Jan 20, 2007 01:12 AM  Permalink

While DGFI and ISI have been infiltrating and creating havoc in India, what have IB and RAW been doing.

If the movements of these covert agents were known, why were they not followed, apprehended and interrogated.

Once again - India shows its lack of spine. What has happened to the terrorists who hijacked the plane to Kandahar, and the three that were released as a part of the capitulation of Indian pride.

Why are they not laying dead due to violent and mysterious causes?

When will India stop mouthing its ability to become a superpower, and start acting like one?

Israel

Mr Dhar,

I have been following india's relationship with its neighbours for some time. Your article makes some sense, to connect ISI and Bangladesh Intelligence. Do you think we could take some lessons from Israel? Just like Israel, we have been enemies around us, and they have done a good job in handling such problem. I do understand that there are different dimensions to the problem, like population, long border and local support, but can we not take a cue from what isael has done?

No, the problems with not with Israel or India. It is with muslim extremists and all other muslims who close their eyes while those extremists kill non-muslims. This is the problem with muslims. Muslims need to learn non-violance from other religions and stop fighting in the name of religion. If the only thing India needs to learn from Israel it is to use military strength to capture and kill terrorists wherever we find them.

Preventive action.... ????
by Nitin Krishnan on Jan 19, 2007 11:50 PM  Permalink

This is a very enlightening article, so also very disturbing. When we know so much, what are we doing to stop the infilteration of these foriegn and anti-national elements into our systems..... As a concerned citizen, what are the steps we can take to address our concern. It seems like they have the whole country covered, how can we break their backbone, are we really doing anything about it ???

ULFA -Bangla Touch ---What India is Doing
by friend full on Jan 19, 2007 10:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

After reading the whole article, one gets amused. It looks like a well written fictious novel, the author tries to emphasize whatever wrong is going in India is done by ISI and DFGI. Then my question is what is RAW/ IB and other agencies doing. Why are we blaming others to hide our incompetence. You have dates , evidences when the bangla agents entered India why the hell they were not arrested?. They were allowed to carry attacks as per you or these were carried by some body else and you are coming up with this theory? Just give a thought . There is a lot going in this world. Why don't we try to be strong and prevent them to interfere in medelling, but I fear then whom you will blame? So we cannot do that either. Govt. is making people paranoid about ISI and now DFGI, instead of telling them straight that we are not capable to take care of you? Be realistic forget ISI and DFGI

You want to be realistic? Then you better come out of your little world and examine the facts. ISI and DFGI are attacking India at will. Now with the Congress/Communists govt in the center and many states we are all at risk. These govts will not arrest the terrorists for fear of losing muslim votes. We need BJP to protect the country!

dear Mr. faulkner.
I think you are a CIA goon. What do you mean by Intenet Indians ? The world knows that its the West led by the Yanks who first cut the flesh then Rub salt into it then when it starts to smel start a name game campaign /buy the goons of the region and then come in and start spreadind their Dirt in the name of cleanup/eradication/elimination.
At the same same time they keep the wounds open and also start fresh spots.
Indians basicaly have many other chores to do unlike the goons of the West .
Maybe we did help them to protect themselves but Indian agencies seldom train or arm to kill or spread violence. Got it ??
