Offensive Gandhi Video
by Yogesh Sundaram on Jan 15, 2007 09:53 AM  Permalink

Gautam Prasad has disappointed his countrymen. He is a certified Yoga teacher, yet his education and Yoga certification has not taught him common sense, empathy towards others, respect towards elders and towards the father of the nation. This once gain highlights that mere university education doesn't make good people or great leaders. Wisdom dawns on people only if they have experienced hardships. Life is a hard struggle for perfection. What amazes me is people like Gautam Prasad who have achieved nothing great in life have the audacity to criticize the father of the nation who sacrificed his life for India%u2019s freedom struggle.

I can't understand what he tried to achieve by putting that video. Now he has earned the wrath and fury of his countrymen. I wonder how he is going to sleep at night. Good luck to him. People behaving like this need to be shunned and made to pay for their sins.

He should be made to buy 10,001 copies of Gandhiji's autobiography, then made to stand at Lincoln Station/Port Authority/Central Park at New York City, read aloud one chapter a day, and sell 10,000 copies of Gandhi's autobiography as long as it takes, all at his own cost (of time and money).

Why our media also supporting him for his objectives of publicity
by on Jan 15, 2007 07:01 AM  Permalink

Well what he has done is simply because of negative publicity sometimes that works faster. But he should have realized the cost for this very heavy and being paid by whole nation and country men. See it has provoked unnecessary abuses towards our country ....see in you tube. He should be strictly be penalized so that no one else can dare to do this again.

Freedom of expression can not be at the cost of hurting freedom of others. At this instance cost is not just hurting sentiments of some others but sentiments of whole nation.

To avoid repetition his passport should be cancelled if its an Indian Passport.

Otherwise his citizenship to India should be cancelled with clause not to be given visa also for India.

Let him be barred from visiting the mother land, if he can not respect her.

Prasad's video
by Shailender Kumar on Jan 15, 2007 05:08 AM  Permalink

I saw people expressing their anger and wrath over the video. Liberalist would say that it should be included in the fundamental right of %u201Cfreedom of expression%u201D. What actually Mr. Prasad wants to convey %u2013 if Gandhi had to do a strip dance how would he had done that. What I perceive in Mr. Prasad%u2019s video is that he is trying to amuse people and the tool he is using is certainly inappropriate. I think so it would have been more appropriate to amuse the US spectators by playing the act of Mr. Bill Clinton and for that Mr. Prasad never had any guts. In my view, Mr. Prasad should be prosecuted for his acts and Govt. of India should issue warrant against him and whenever he arrives in India, he should be arrested and given show cause. A person like him deserves nothing but one thing that he should be bought to justice.
I totally support the wrath shown by people. It is pity that Nathuram Godsey in shape of Mr. Prasad is still present. I call for the law to take action and let this be a lesson for such people. Not forgetting to mention here is that once Johnny Lever did offending act to please Mr. %u2018D%u2019 in Dubai, he had to go to jail. I think the law should be brought to punish such people with life imprisonment for doing such a disgraceful act.

So much for Gandhiji's principle.
by mukesh makwana on Jan 15, 2007 04:29 AM  Permalink

I read people threatening and abusing someone cos of Gandhiji.
This is the worst thing that anyone can do in the name of Gandhiji. Where is freedom of speech, peace and love that he has taught us ?

Clown in real life
by robin lopez on Jan 15, 2007 04:18 AM  Permalink

We infact respect others, only when we respect ourselves. Without the self-respect we become clowns in real life. What a pity !!!!
