More than secular country - prevents such punishments!
by Ravi K on Jan 13, 2007 05:17 AM  Permalink

Our more than secular policies of Indian politicians end up protecting Muslims and Christians criminals. In Andhra pradesh 2 men were spared from death sentence even after burning 23 bus passengers alive. Their Christian status helped then stay above law.

could have changed something????
by karanam pawan kumar on Jan 13, 2007 05:15 AM  Permalink

I agree that he is a terrorist and should be hanged;that too in public. But looking at the same guys who sit in that same parliament, who are trying to stop his hanging I feel that Afzal et al should have been successful in their attack so that we could have have got rid of these dirty generation of politicians. After all these drama I feel he should be released and given a chance to carry out another attack which hopefully should be successful and then they can be shot down and let some decent fresh blood enter the political scene.

Do not consider him a muslim or as a hindu; he is a terrorist
by sesharaj venkitaraman on Jan 13, 2007 03:30 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

And a terrorist should be punished; whether he is a muslim or a hindu or any other religion - they simply do not have a religion. The attack on parliament has so much significance not because it could have killed our politicians (we would all have been happy if so) but it symbolised an attack on our constitution, our democracy. All should here first think as an Indian and not as from any religion. I am a Hindu but does not believe in any of the ideaolgies. I have many muslim friends. i have no problem in dealing with them nor do they have. We should not blow this case and view it from a Hindu-Muslim conflict point of view. He is a damn terrorist and terrorist are to be punished (or rather terrorism need to be totally suppressed). So no leniancy please

I think Afzal should not get away because of muslim. He should get punishment as early as possible. There should not be any consideration. We all are indian. We should not talk about religion.
