Wider scope of investigations
by Jaya Sekhar on Jan 13, 2007 02:19 PM  Permalink

The CBI is doing a fabulous job in all its earnestness. All the media/political hype that the CBI delayed investigations were quite uncalled for.
To my mind, further, the following are significant:
1. Confiscation of mobile phone SIM cards, tracing who were called; it should also include the calls made from the landlines. The police should check if any wireless transmitters were used
2. It is not important to always trace the deceased person to a parent in Nithari; the accused may have targeted another catchment area too
3. The CBI should obtain special permission from mobile service providers, private landline service providers and MTNL/BSNL and match all the mobile and landline nos. of doctors AND households of doctors and nursing homes and hospitals
4. Check if any international calls were made and any international couriers were sent; also check for any pointsman who collected the organs for the international/domestic organs' market. In this connection, the Internet service provider should also be contacted and the email ids scanned along with the history of all activities online.
5. Also check what Moninder Pandher was upto in Chandigarh and how many more 'residences of crime' he runs in UP/Haryana/Chandigarh/elsewhere
The public, the medical fraternity, police, legislators/councillors and everyone else who may help should extend all co-operation to CBI and make this investigation a comprehensive one to understand the length and breadth of the case to prevent any such recurrence. We have suffered enough.
