"I dream of a day, while retaining our respective national identities, one can have breakfast in Amritsar, lunch in Lahore and dinner in Kabul. That is how my forefathers lived. That is how I want our grandchildren to live,". May the giver of life bless our efforts.
How can someone even think about opening up the borders to Pakistan... Is our memory so myopic that we forget the carnage and destruction that Pakistan has created in India like the Kargil war, blasts in major cities across the country, even attacking the Parliament building.... Maybe the comon man in Pakistan does not have as much animosity towards India but there are extremely violent terrorists out there in Pakistan who would have their heyday of rampaging if the borders are let open. This would be equivalent of the looting and mayhem created by Ghazni and Ghori centuries earlier.... This is absolutely not a good time to extend the hand of friendship... Let us wait for a few more years to see how Pakistan harnesses and sheds the constant flow of jihadis from its religious educational institutions....
Mr. Singh's vision of "invisible" borders is in the interest of both the nations, India and Pakistan.I really ho[e that it come true. Congratulations Mr. Prime Minister and Best wishes.
Dear Prime Minister, It is a very good move.I have already accepted that you are gem and no one can catch you. You have rightly thrown the ball in neighbour's court.Let Pakistan create a congenial atmosphere and trust, we indians are ready to come for lunch in lahore,Islamabad or Rawalpindi. Why will the Indians go to Thailland,Singapore and Malaysia etc.?Let foreign exchange come to our neighbour and let them become strong. We need our neighbours to be strong not only economically but intellectually as well. Let our neighbours ponder over our PM's advise/suggestion and goal.
It's ok to dream - as long as it's just that. The idiot moron Nehru also had ths same feel-good 'feelin', what with his Hindi-Chinni, bai-bhai; Panch-sheel; Jinnah is his soul-brother, the world will recogize India's 'moral' leadership so India doesn't need any army, blah, blah, blah! Bilgewater! In this part of the world, hard-nosed reality is the only reality - such 'dreamin' will invite only more Kargils. Real peace can only be possible when Pak quit its destructive, Islam-centric agenda.
Situation is really not that bad at the grass root level. The distances between the communities were created for political mileage. If today politicians from both sides can reconcile theie differences than our PM's dream may come true.
Never learn from history do u.. ur forefathers had to flee from Pakistan due to the madness of radical Islam.. u are really senile now to have such pipe dreams..
