....the bangladeshis becuause we provided them the oppurtunity to flood our state as they are cheap bargain. But none of the assamese guys wud do that as this was below dignity. Just see around urself all the char areas are illegally occupied by these bangladeshis..not even the upper assam is spared. You go to Hathigaon and you wud find it to be a MINI BANGLADESH..and who helped they...was it the UNION GOVT..or the govt of the state for the vote bank. So dont put blame on central govt for everything. Yes its true that not much has been done to uplift the economy of assam or NE as a whole but is ULFA doing the right thing? Are you endorsing their acts? Who is to be blamed for the ecomonic backwardness of Assam..we are responsible, our state govt is to be blamed...but how many times we have resented against them ..never...Wat ULFA is doing is purely Heinous crime...whatever they have done in the past has never ever helped the ASSAM's economy rather have put a brake to it...already we are behind other states but this ULFA has further detrimented tyhe progress...whatever remained worthy has been looted by these self-centred looters..They started with a cause but NOW they have lost base

Mr.Trinath, Are you a doc by profession? If so, you have done a great dissection of the problem. Hats OFF!! Tell me one thing, what do you mean by saying that Non-North Indian have become smarter. Do you mean that killing innocent and unarmed BIHARIS means being smarter. If so we dont want to be smarter and we do belive how smarter you are. You know what, this simply points to your ethics and upbringing, who tries to divide India into caste, creed and community. Cant you just see, the nefarious design of Bangladesh and the fanatic muslims behind this? Right from the days of Bengal Partition, there had been a scheme to convert the whole of NE to a Greater Bangladesh and very true they have successfully implemented the plot. Who is to be blamed? You know what, we assamese though are very intelligent but we are lazy..we beileve in LAHE LAHE..and we feel that certain jobs are below our dignity...and if you have somewhere read that there is always a population migration wherever there is oppurtunity to earn tyhe livelihood. Just think some 2 years back there were no Assamese as a rickshawalla, thelawalla, coolie or kamlas..who came to do those jobs...the biharis (who r indian).....
I have a dream for Assam, not 'soverign' but to be among the top 3 economic destination of INDIA by 2020. What does assam lack- natural resources,natural beauty or access to the booming Indian economy on one side and the south east asian market on the other? What assam and the assmese lack are self confidence and good old hard working nature. Good that the british stuck the label "'ass'-am" onto our forehead, and that sums all our effort to prosper. I don't care about what the lazy 'soverign' aspirations of the ULFA and our state-government are. What happenned to ULFA's so called ideology to punish corrupt official a decade back? Have we not remained one of the most backward and corrupt state in India? God help us, even Bihar is far ahead of us, at least their leader Laloo(a Bihari) is sought after by IIM and Harward. Do we ('ass'-am ese)have the guts to aspire or come up with one such leader amongst our midst? What Tarun Gogoi,Arabinda Rajkhowa,Paresh Barua what do you have to say? Do you have it in you to at least do for Assam, what Laloo did for the Indian railways? Can you give a vision 2020 to Assam what our President has given for the rest of the country?
These Ulfa guys are idiots, representative of the lazy "'ass'-am" culture. I doubt if any one of their leaders have an iota of leadership quality to govern a 'soverign' assam. Assam lacks bold leadership at the helm-state and centre, and not cowards and laid back people like gogoi and the MPs we send to Delhi who couldn't even raise a single voice of concern for the people of assam. The whole of India is mine and not just assam!
So many things has happened till now.. But I dont think any action has been taken.. What the goverment is waiting for.. More voilence.. terror.. more deaths.. Wht??? Govt. Sud speak less n a serious action sud be taken.. Meetings, talks wont help.. GOVT -- THINK WHEN UR PPL ARE DYING.. THINK AND TAKE SERIOUS ACTION
We should suspend all talks with the ULFA if they cant respect a ceasefire. All acts of violance should be concidered a war with India and given a strong reply. They are not our misguided boys. Once they cross the line we should cease all talks with all terror groups. Does the US talk to Bin Ladan. We have many more Bin Ladens in India and the world keeps asking us to speak to them and accuses us of human rights.
This is the one example of political oppertunitsm. Congress in last election clearly alighned with ULFA and other extrem group for the shake of votes and during election compaign ULFA activists clearly worked for Congresss and manupulated the voting and threatened voters in favour of Congress candidates.
Our state and central governmet always created misunderstanding with local assamese and migrant people and nver allowed paramilitary forces to handle these elements.
Every time in the shadow of talk ULFA militants strenghten thier support and logistic capabilities.
Only dirty politics of Congress is responsible for this. And congress has long track record of this from Punjab to Kashmir to Srilanka, to Telangana to maoists to ULFA to KLF. They were always hands-in-gloves with these extremist or anti national elements and later country paid for these oppertunitism.
I have lived in Dibrugarh for over 6 years, I went to medical college there. Assamese people are generally very nice and hospitable. The actions of ULFA do not represent assamese people. They are doing it for their own selfish reasons. I don't know what they plan to achieve by killing hindi speakers. How stupid can one get?
