Saddam's execution-need for World to boycott USA
by rajendra prasad baru on Jan 04, 2007 07:52 AM  Permalink

Sir,
the manner in which Saddam Hussian has been hastily hanged much against World opinion shows that desperate President Bush want to eliminate Saddam before World opinion ties his hands.
President Bush and Prime Minister Blair of Britain should be tried for War Crimes in Iraq and for waging a "Illegal War" against Iraq. Who are America and Britain to enter Iraq without United Nations involvement? USA and UK are not the only components of United Nations Organisation, the opinion of the Rest of the World too had to been taken to wage War against Iraq to bring them iback into the civilised World.Bush and Blair at best can be compared to Don Quixote and Sacho Panza, who are out on their adventures.
I suggest that The United Nations also punish USA and UK for acting Independently in attacking and destroying Iraq and executing Saddam Hissian hastily and in a cowardly manner. The Best way for the World to protest is by way of United Nations being located outside New York(USA) in an Neutral Country like Switzerland.I feel time has come for Nations to realign with Russia, China and India forming a New Block to challenge the errant USA and UK.

I am sure that there will be a huge war between iraq and US. I think US has not learnt from 7/11. It is going to repeat more than that. US has taken a big risk and US people are going to die. Enjoy US

US policy
by Anubhav on Jan 03, 2007 07:34 AM  Permalink

Who are we to interfere in the matters between USA and Iraq. USA as an independent country has right to form its own policy and decide what relations to keep with which country and how. I think only people who should have a say are people of USA or people of Iraq. And my understanding is that both are happy with execution of the cruel dictator. And I do not think India or any other country have any right to criticize the decision of Iraq govt backed by USA to execute Saddam ( even if trial was unfair, it was internal matter of Iraq)

Saddam execution: End for Iraq
by pps.ahluwalia on Jan 03, 2007 07:18 AM  Permalink

Author ought to have dealt with Iraq's crisis in a greater depth, dealing with its woeful historical past, especially about the demonic period relating to Saddam's brutal rule. Iraq was perpetually living in 3-different States e.g portions occupied by Sunnis,Shias and Kurds. Just ask a man in an Iraqi street;if a Kurd,he would vow for Kurdis home, and for Shiites,an area dominated by their community should govern its own ethnic community-ask Sadr-Shiite rebel leader having a large following. Then Sunnies, who form a small group of minority, cannot aspire to rule the entire Iraq,on their own, though Saddam did control the dissenting Kurds and Shiites, with a brutal hand of tyrrny, bloodshed, inflicting various atrocities.Even now,Iraq's dis-unity amongst its Kurds/Shiites/Sunnies,have come up right into the open, after Saddam's removal from power. His execution, was hasty or otherwise, was quite expected,as is widely expected,in case of world's brutal dictators. US/Bush's Iraq policies, were never based on realities.Bush's lack of understanding of Iraq/Arab policies also did culminate in messing up with Iraqi lives where situation is now unfortunately growing towards a civil war.

US decides the fate of Saddam??
by Lalitha Davuluri on Jan 02, 2007 11:12 PM  Permalink

Well, I think I know why he was hanged, probably because he did not possess WMDs which he should have possessed according to US in the first place. Or they didn't know what to do of him since he was useless to the US now that he was powerless and not worth President Bush. The whole world is aware of his atrocities commited as a dictator but that does not explain the haste in which he was hanged. In any case, I believe his death is totally US backed. It is pathetic that US is here to decide the fates of countries and their leaders. Well, that's the American way, didn't you know.

reasons for hanging sadaam in a hurry
by sameer on Jan 02, 2007 10:58 PM  Permalink

very nice article.
the main reasons for hanging sadaam in such a hurry are
1) sadamm was approaching his 70th birthday. according to iraqi law noone older than 70 can be hanged.
2) the case in which he was convicted occured in 1982 (or around that time). also simultaneously his more recent atrocities were being tried or were going to be tried. this is the period in which sadaam received major help from US (to curb iran etc). if these cases had been tried then US might have to face embarrasment.

Saddam execution: end for Iraq
by Ramakrishnan on Jan 02, 2007 03:16 PM  Permalink

Yes I agree with what the author has the view. Its an end of unified Iraq. The difference between Mr. Saddam and the evil minded Bush is - Mr. Hussain wanted to rule the country with united mind of all sects, but Bush want to divide all country and rule.

The same will happen for US once in future, if what I believe is god is there, things again will go wrong for Bush and he will difinitely repend and pay for the wrong steps he has made and done.

God is always great and Mr. Saddam will be taken care by him and flowered.

Saddam's execution
by Zubair Irshad on Jan 02, 2007 01:51 PM  Permalink

THe day is not far when we see iraq's division in to two or more parts.
The way Saddam executed, shows US failure on every front.
The video of execution is the clear signal of continuation of violence in Iraq.
Apparently, it is happy hours for Few Shia & kurd but in long term this will worsen the life of Arabs in the region.
US, once again successful in their hidden agenda of divide & rule, like british did with India.
We are still suffering from communal virus injected by them & struggling to fight with in new forms.
May GOD bless us to live peacefully.
