3NR5C Here my concern is what will be the fate of this "warning chain", if some one makes a mistake and warns in the wrong direction!!! It will be a comedy of errors.

I am very doubtful. This is only for media and nothing else. US knows for a long time that Pakistan is not doing enough and still they are supporting them on every front. But i think US has no other choice but to support Musharraf.
Hello Everyone, It is known fact that pakistan has been the hub of terrorism doing its every bit is causing disturbances in Afghanistan, Iraq and not to forget in India. Doesn't United States know all this? It wants an air base in that country which Pakistan is not willing. The day US feels it has got an alternative on this, it would be tough time for Pakistan too, in addition to earlier mentioned Iran,N Korea.

well said, is it not a surprise that US instructs every other country in this world saying do like this, do like that, but would not open its mouth when it comes to the point of Pakistan. We do not know what's the deal thats between these two nations. Comeon India, the next time you are attacked, just go forward blind folded attacking pakistan, a'la US, Israel.

Nuclear weapon states don't go to direct war with each other. US for all its power chooses to talk with North Korea, primarily because of its nuclear capabilities. This is the established military doctrine of post world war. Pakistan can be punished by India by many ways without resorting to war. Punishment through war is an outdated strategy. Btw, breaking up Pakistan without direct war isn't a big deal.. all we need to get is diplomatic nod from certain Key countries. Why not work towards that?

He told them US congress my cut his billions $$'aid' money ..My point is US cannot rent pakis forever, sooner they realise the better, instead of tieing pakis results to new $$ US should tie it to its very existance. OR not what will gain but what they will loose. That will send a jolt up pakis ass
it is that; US has a vested interest in keeping pak as a counter wight to india and china. lest these two up sams ante also, their relationship-us/pak goes a long way back. so donot expect drastic chanes in that. anyway US cant fight indias batles with terrorists. we shud do it ourselves. a good step, we do no knowtow to US FULLY. witness our new defence relation with old friend RUSSIA.

"US has a vested interest in keeping pak as a counter wight to india and china." -- That's a coldwar logic. It had died long time back. I think US sincerely "wants" India to be a trusted ally. But I agree that wanting is one and establishing is another. It's clear that US and India do not really trust each other very much through two main things. US does not support India's UN permanent security member ambition and India on the other hand still harbors defence relations with Russia. Certain things will take time to change. But US and India have such a strong people to people contact and democratic credentials that they are bound to be allied sooner or later.
atleast 2 more wars to be fought on this planet to know atleast who belongs to which side... 1 a war against iran 2 a war against N korea(it has buckled down of course)
only america can do it... pakistan will be forced to show its real colours when america strikes IRAN, i beleve that day is not far

Its still not very late Bush to order its army out of Iraq and march it towards Tehran. Allow the Sunnis and Shias sort out their problems in the ways they are most comfortable with !
