RE:RE:hope pakistan goes down-under

Precisely! What in the world are we talking with them when every 3 to 6 months there is a major blast which kills 100s of Indians :-(. It is the duty of the politicians to make it absolutely clear and public what is being discussed, why and what are expected to be achieved by having normal relations.

"I just hope that Pakistan breaksup into smaller countries & they keep fighting with each other." Out of more then a billion Indian Brethren it is all due to your likes that people go in to unnecessary arguments and abusive behaviors. What I don%u2019t understand is why make such illogical and ignorant comments about other people or nation.

Pakistan and we Pakistanis have no reason what so ever to go on war with India. We are two progressive nations and we just need to keep up with our progress.

It%u2019s ridiculous that any one considers Pakistan a weak nation. Pakistan is growing and growing rapidly in every field. To know this you need to have a sincere mind and look at the facts rather then believing in on what you are fed upon.

I don%u2019t want India to be crushed, I am happy to see India and Pakistan progress. It%u2019s a shame that we have fought a war over a piece of glacier which has been rated as one of the most expensive cold war of our time. I sincerely hope that this peace process and many like it would take place in the coming years.

BTW I won%u2019t hesitate to say that Pakistan is in a very strong position economically and militarily. Starting a peace process is not a sign of weakness, it%u2019s a sign of greatness from both side.

I hope we can have more and more people remember Gandhi Ji not just because he is the founder of India but because of the great Impact of humanity and humbleness he left behind. If only we were to follow the teaching of man like Gandhi %u2013 Muhammad (pbuh) - Martin King etc our world would be better place to live in. Lets not be a obstacle towards peace and prosperity. We need to leave behind these prejudices and hate against each other and look ahead to a bright future (Inshallah).

Sir, if you are a Pakistani these are definitely nice words from you. But we Indians have been taken in many times before by the kind of warm & fuzzy talk that you dish out. Ideally, India should have nothing to do with Pakistan. But in this world nothin is ideal. India will have to live with this evil and peace processes.

Please take a minute and read Mr. B. Raman's article too.

Hey you are proud of your nation and you want it to be treated equal with india. Guyz you could have been more than equal with us (coz we are P-Secular) had your prior generation not sought partition. Now, look at you.. you are slaves to the radical Arabs, self-serving West (US) and all just to achive parity with india. Accept it you have no natural identity, no economic strength, no democratic society and the worst is i dont think we would want you guyz back again. I may sound arrogant bur i think Pakistan understands only this language afterall were'nt your generals who wanted to bleed india with 100 cuts.. the days are not far when those huge B4 bombers will land on your country ironically in the pre-text of 'liberating' you. Good luck

Touche my friend, touche... I am an Indian, and I agree with almost everything you said. I say almost since we have different perspectives but that doesnt mean we cant agree on a solution. I hate Indians or pakistanis or muslims/hindus who think that fighting one another (amongst each other or wit others) is the way... the only way is co-existence.. past shapes the present which in turn paves way for the future... so we have to choose today for the future if any of us care... if we dont, i really dnt wish to argue wit anyone - this situation, or anyother (hare krishna, inshallah, god bless you)!!!

Hey Dude . .
I think we need more people like you on both sides.
Understand passion runs deep both sides.
Weak or strong the debate rages when you are enemies. If we cant be friends we necessarily neednt be enemies.
However political establishment from both sides need to show more restraint & will for PEACE.
In the mean time both of us should desist from each others homes & causing mindless and cowardly acts.
No one is debating Pakistan is not progressing. By all means progress.
But we need to take into consideration of jehadi elements on your side and fundamentalists on our side.
We need to tackle poverty on your side & our side as well.
We need to stop human rights abuse on your side & our side as well.
We need to focus on the world more than at each other.
We need to improve the quality of life of our populace, education, health, hunger eradication, womens empowerment and other such issues.
Have a look at international opinion of our respective countries when we travel to developed countries. It will set matters in perspective

" I would be happy to see Pakistan fall into jihadi hands" .. Are you sane? Ridiculous!! Having a neighbour like Pakistan is bad enough and you want to further worsen the situation!!!
Breaking up Pakistan is not going to help either. Look at Bangladesh and how it has repaid our friendship. We should not be soft when dealing with them but we should also remember that only Musharraf stands between Pakistan and chaos.
Deal with them but with a velvet hammer.

Well said.

Pakistan is destined to break up anyway. For India that is growing powerful by the day, it doesn't matter if Pakistan splits into 10 or 1000 pieces and whether Jihadis freak out there, as they are doing now. Jihadis are not alien to Pakis and so won't pose a new threat.

A politically strong India can crush Pakistan anyday, anytime. I really mean crush. No crappy negotiation, signing papers etc. just crush like a road roller. Anihihate. There should be a radiation glow with half life of 60 years. After that crops can be grown in what used to be Pakistan.

We have left Pakistan far behind .. lets leave it from our thoughts too.

We in India are obsessed with Pakistan. For Gods sake Yes we were a single country 5 generations ago. Yes we fought 3/4 wars. Yes its caused us nuisance is still trying to.
However its time to look into the future. Assess where we stand today. Do we even have anything in common with a state like Pakistan. Look at our future, look at our progress, look at our institutions .. we have left our relatives far behind.
The world is waiting for a resurgent India, lets not disappoint it.
As far as Pakistan is concerned. Lets protect our country ourselves. If we have the will & determination we can easily ward of our neighbors pranks. I think we should pay attention to our internal security when the pranks start costing us our precious lives.
In the current state ... Pakistan is going down the drain. We should not & do not wish it. But its for the Pakistanis to decide what they want to do about it. And no we are not looking to help them. They need to help themselves.
God Bless Pakistan .... Long Live India.

Well said. It's for Pakistan to help itself. We only hope that the transformation is peaceful for Pakistan. Perhaps, this may provide the much needed momentum for a long overdue reform in Islamic world so that they treat other religion as much as a valid path as theirs and don't choose imposing their view on their minorities, wherever on globe they are a majority. It's this 'Us vs Them' attitude with Islam and 'my Religion is the only true path to God' of Christianity that's responsible for much
of the bloodshed and ill-will all around the world. Peace is not a destiny, it is a way.

How true .. absolutist religions like Islam & Christianity has caused untold miseries from time immemorial. I guess its more from the socio - political situation of the middle east that these behaviors were evident in these religions.
Religions of the east have a more tolerant attitude towards other religions & beliefs. (though not always .. periods of buddhist dominance & vedic backlash is well documented)
What is surprising is the adamancy in these times. Christian West doesnt want to sacrifice its economic dominance & Moslem (fundamentalists only not liberals) Middle Kingdoms want to conquer the world by subverting the economic strength of the Christian West.
China & India should show a tolerant path & guide the two misguided & juvenile civilizations (if we may call them so)

It is the Bible that inspired Gandhi to take up Ahimsa, because Jesus said love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. It is Jesus Christ who said if someone hits you on the left cheek offer the right.
Since by themselves people cannot be sinless. Christianity does try to educate everyone that Jesus died for everyones sins and in him we can be joined back to GOD. It is about showing GOD's love and forgiveness to humanity in need of him.
Christians may have forgotten Christ's teaching during the crusuades. The fact remains that Christianity is the only religiton that says love your enemies(and not kill).
Please do not bring Christianity un-necessarily into this discussion.

You have put it eloquently my friend. I dont dispute the bible or Jesus. They are one of the best teachings (New Testament) that can be found.
But Christianity is a different cup altogether. When I say Christianity I talk about the cultural aspect divorced from Christ & hsi teachings .. the crusades, the colonization, the superiority complex of the white man. I talk of Christianity as a civilization. Probably Gandhi was the most closest of Christs followers.

Before you forget, Christianity has been around for about 2000 years.

Hinduism has been around for 1.7 million years going back to Tretayuga. The rich teachings of Hinduism can't be contained in just one book.It requires mountains of other book volumes. Love thy neigbor is a pick from Hinduism since its the oldest religion.

Further more, what applies to a Hindu equally applies to everyone i.e. no discrimination. No preaching that its The True belief etc. No conversions especially forcible ones.
