If local cops/police not doing their job, then there is no difference between animals and human beings.Stronger get stronger and weaker one suffers. May be Animals are also better mostof the times.

what r u? a pakistani suporter! The article is about rape and you have taken it across the borders! You have lost your mind! go to some mental hospital and get yourself checked! You need treatment.
sth of this sort happens press goes to a higher official, not a one thats actually working on the case,
that person gives a statement that "an enquiry will be made" or"a case is registered" or better even "we are asking for a CBI probe"
press and hearty people of mother india shut their respective mouths and we do our 9-5(documented) 9-5AM(actual) jobs.
human rights with candles, you are needed here please, ohh i am sorry, you come into action when by chance the aggressor is held and sentanced, thatswhen u do your duty right....
I think in India the status of women should be somewhere in between the two extremes : the 'nangapan' system in the west and the 'subjugation' system in the middle east.
RE:Status of women in our society
by indiantothecore on Feb 24, 2007 11:14 AM Permalink
Actually women in cities are mostly into the nangapan...on the other extreme, women in rural vilages suffer at the hands of the subjugation system.
I request the MEDIA not to put those rape victims on tv. As it is the male in rural regions treats them as second hand citizens, exposing them to all will only result in aggravating their pain and suffering and lead to further humiliation in a society where a victim of rape is labelled a social outcast.
I highly doubt if the rapists get what they deserve.
We protest in streets and burn effigies if someone says something about an Indian woman in Britain but we hardly pay any attention when some 15 women got raped by some savages on our homeland. Such hypocrisy....... I don%u2019t want them to get these people hanged that doesn%u2019t solve the problem. The problem Can only be solved if we can prevent these labor women from these dangers. How do we do that?
Most of the labor work is undocumented in India. No body know who worked in which farm, how much they paid the individual, who is responsible for the payment etc..
Government needs to implement minimum wages for daily labor based on the line of work. Needs to appoint an official for villages to keep documents of who is working for who. Needs to reinvent our village administrative structure so that it can effectively control the agricultural and other labor intensive businesses. Register private labor contractors and give them necessary responsibilities that they need to fulfill in order to get contracts from buyers. I wish I could think of some more but I am not an admin person. This is what I think our administrative structure is not designed to absorb the agricultural labor and other rural labor work. That is insane as that amounts to heavy percentage of our annual turnaround.
Our villages (70% of the country) are a haven for these little emperors who can do anything they want. They are the lowest of the low in human kind. The despicable things they do and how they suck the life out of the people who work for them is unbelievable. Question is who controls them..?
Government needs to provide a secondary option for public in case if the public feels the immediate authority is incompetent to take any action.
Where are all the feminist organizations and the career feminists? Feminism is not about empowering few selected individuals and giving speeches in the convention halls. It's about fighting for the poor, forgotten, hopeless and illiterate woman.
May be VHP, Shiv Sena needs to fight for these underprivileged Hindu women after all they are out to save Hinduism. Yeah right I know they will%u2026%u2026.
May god give these women patience and peace of mind...

Very good points. I expecially find it very apt (and rightly so) that you brought up the topic of all the hangama that we did about comments made on Shilpa Shetty. Also, we sure need better labour laws. And finally, as you said, where are the feminist leaders ? Please come forward, you are now needed more than any other time. and we will support you. Come on...let us make a difference. Jai Hind!

So, you want to change total India. That is a good thing. I appreciate if you are listing all these with the intention of changing. Let us do one by one. First we put these culprits into prison. One by one we can do. If we switch over to other issues, these culprits will escape.

I just said i dont want to hang them... We need to address the origin of the issue. Please dont let revenge or hatred cloud your judgement. I do want them to get arrested and treated the way every raping savage gets treated. But i was talking about preventing these things in future. Then again i think we are on the same page..Thanks

I don't agree w/ you. Punish them who did guilty. Instead you try to escape them. Are you from another country. What root cause, do you ask them to get marry and ask them settle?

i agree with your opinion, hanging the person doesn't prevent others from commiting this crime. Since Documenting the names of the labourers individually is difficult, having a common number assigned to every person like in US we have SSN right...cud be a long run solution. This is where the Indian IT gaints shud voluntary work....tracking every body becomes easy...in this way though it may take a long time...eventually a day will become where every body is monitored...

True, it is tragic incident. A diktat(order) was issued by director general of police Bua Singh to register the case & action will be taken against the culprits.
