by sohan patil on Feb 20, 2007 12:11 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear friends,
The blasts that took place is not a matter of muslims or hindus. Stop this fanaticism!!!!! When GOD created human being did he send u with the religion.... Religion is mere fanaticism created by some evils and few politicians use this tool to fool us. When u blame politicians why do u elect an iliterate politician? From this year if an illiterate politician stands in your area boycott the elections. The day u elect good learned politicians just see the change.......our country will be safe secure and rich country......There is a saying in hindi "Jaisa Raja Vaisi Praja"

o my beloved country what art thou!
by vikram dutta on Feb 19, 2007 11:33 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

when i was young, i was in a hostel for five years, i had friend amongst hindus, muslims, christians, all of us were just friends, we ate together, we played together, we cried, laughed and feared our teachers in the same way. we even prayed together. i know there were days.....specially before exams, we use to clean a little corner in the room that i stayed, lay down our towels, and set our gods there. we has the geeta, a chandi, a new testament and verses from koran written on pictures of mosque, and we prayed. each would say his prayers and others would repeat after. did we always know what we said? often 'no' but we knew that we prayed to the same entity......ishwar, allaha, god...what ever you call. and we were blessed. i know we were because we had our friends, their love, their kindness, they understood us. and we all always passed our exams even tough some of us would only open our books after the routine for exam was declared. i know we were blessed for we knew know no hatred, we did not know how to hurt, how to desire destruction of others, how to enjoy that pervert moment when you see some one loose his all. AND I THANK GOD THAT EVEN TODAY, 12-14 YEARS AFTER THOSE DAYS I HAVE NOT LET THIS WORLD SWALLOW MY MEMORIES.
i still do not understand why we have to hate when we can love. how revenge can solve a problem and not ignite the fire for more vengeance. are we so shallow! or have we forgotten that the creator does not make a hindu or muslim or christian, but a HUMAN. so who are we, if not that evil ones..........for we fail to cry when another human dies. we are worst that the animals who too understand Loss.
my friends, it brings tears to my eyes when i see that instead of mourning the death of so many, we are fighting on our religion...........that religion which the allmighty never wrote on our foreheads.....
make haste my friends, make haste..........change your self.........cry for those who are no more...........for when you GO...........heaven or hell.......know this that you were the man that HE made.
why forget the Heart in it, that has long stopped its beats..........but pumps by some mechanical means to your brain where the devil preach 'HATE'
the hands that were to hold in love now raises only in hate.......
o friend is this why ........
THINK think THINK........AND cry cry CRY .........and maybe you will learn being what you were meant to be.........a MAN.

by Rohit on Feb 19, 2007 11:24 PM  Permalink

No words of condemnation are strong enough to express the outrage at this dastardly act of terrorism. It clearly shows that terrorists are no one's friends or brothers. I call upon the Indian Government to quickly find the culprits and bring them to justice. As citizens of India let us also resolve that we will not let this incident fan communal violence. The intention of the terrorists is destroy the unity of this country by such acts. Let us not play into their hands by spreading venom against any particular community.

It's our fault
by R Singh on Feb 19, 2007 11:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When Indian muslim families were getting burned alive in Gujarat, and there's no hue-and-cry in India to condemn it. When PM literally slept in the podium and did not say anything about the state sponsored massacres, it says a lot about who we are as Indians. When some bad elements in the security forces rape women in Kashmir and nothing is done other than suspension of those individuals, it creates a feeling among the Indian muslims that the entire Nation is against them. It makes them asecond class citizen.
We are very good at condemning their irrational reactions. When some rogue elements in the Muslim community blow-up trains then we strongly condemn that. But when thousands were getting killed in Gujarat then WE AS INDIANS DID NOT DO ANYTHING.

Just search in google for some of the documentaries regarding Gujarat riots, and if you are human your blood will boil too.

As a nation, as Indians, we must condemn act of violence. Whether they be State sponsored as in the case of Gujarat or Delhi (in '84) or reactionary acts of revenge.

Our Judiciary must be given full authority to prosecute those who have committed human right violations. This means bringing CM Modi to justice. If he's put behind jail, I will not guarantee that terrorism will stop. But at least as a civilized Nation, we as Indians will start removing the elements from our social fabric that instigates violence.
