Cruelty of Aurangzeb
by Farrukh Nizami on Feb 16, 2007 02:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The messages I have read sound like a joke. How come you allowed the muslim rulers to rule India in the first place or for that matter British. Without betraying your own country nobody can invade and rule it. So dont talk about other religion without understanding its essence. You are yourselves responsible for betrayel your own country for the lust of power.

Mr. Farukh,

India was a peace loving country and Indian rulers never fought unnecesarily. We even strictly abided our own rules of war. In India "ALL" is fair only in love and not in war. Even when Alexander fought Prithviraj, he crossed Jhelum by night and attacked when he knew it was forbidden to fight in India.

I will tell you a few examples from South India to explain how peace loving Indians were.

Few important Martial art used during war are techniques in South India are 1) Bow & Arrow, 2) Staves, 3) Body Fight and 4) Spear & Lance. A peace loving nation, as India has been historically, these idle weapons of martial arts are now used for fine arts & science. (dance, musice or medicine). "Villuppattu" - story recitation technique is done with Bow & Arrow, "Silambattam" the best Staff-technique is used as fine art or dance, "Kalari" is used in dance choreographies, "Varmam" is used as medcinal technique, "Spear & Lance" are used in "Velakkaranattam". These usages did not happen recently, but very long back, when the whole world still hunting fellow human race, India was civilized enough to search for eternal peace through non-violence.

We trust is people, betrayers carry their own sin. Even if there are mroe betrayers, we would still trust. POWER OF TRUST AND FAITH ARE IMMEASURABLE.

Nobody here is talking about religion. It's about tyrannical ruler 'Aurangzeb'. You have bad ruler's in any religion. Nobody has glorified Jayachand for what he did to Prithviraj Chauhan. Be tolerant and accept the facts than accuse.

"Without betraying your own country nobody can invade and rule it."

Why do you people cry for Lebanon and Iraq then and curse Bush n America ?? Certainly they must have been betraying their own country !! Isn't it ??

Without admitting the cruelty and misdeeds of that evil vandal, you are pointing out faults in the Indians.Shame on you !!
You need not give your name.It is quite evident that such a reply could come from a Muslim.

Excellent Article
by bharat on Feb 16, 2007 02:10 PM  Permalink

This is an excellent article. We must bring out history in its original uncensored form so that the future generations can learn lessons from the mistakes committed by the predecessors.

Likewise, we present a very distorted history of some of our national leaders (eg. Gandhiji, Nehru). Whatever good they have done is highlighted intensely, sometimes even exaggerated. However, the mistakes made by these leaders are conveniently forgotton or hidden. We must bring out the mistakes made by our leaders with the same intensity as we present their good work. People should learn that however great the leaders were, they were human beings and just like other human beings, they too have made mistakes, some of which have cost the country a great price.

aurangzeb marg symbol of pseudo secularism!!!!
by qwerty qwerty on Feb 16, 2007 02:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I totally agree with puneet bhatnagar, pseudo secularism is very dangerous for India. If Mulayam, Sonia and PM talks for Muslims it is right and secular and if some one goes for RSS meet then it becomes communal. In India no one talks about Godhara(Burning Train) but every one talks about post Godhara riots .

Aurangjeb- the truth
by RR Parida on Feb 16, 2007 02:09 PM  Permalink

Thanks for exposing the truth.

The pseudo secularists are the worst enemies of Hinduism.

Hindu Pandits have been made refugees in their own land, in which other place can it happen ?

The pseudo secularists should not change the history.

We have to learn a lot from the history.

Let the truth remain truth.

Thanks Francois.

Good Job Franc!!
by Ashwin Iyer on Feb 16, 2007 02:07 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I have been a regular reader of Francois Gautier's articles and have followed his work quite a bit (for my own reasons). Though what he says/works on might be topics of high-sensitivity I have never seen an iota of dishonesty in the logic he presents. He even answers well to the devil's advocate of his own theories.

This work on Aurangazeb's tyranny is a finding which is only tip of an ice-berg. There are more things to know about, such as the Taj Mahal. Indian government will never even touch these topics, as these things will harm their vote banks.

Dear Ashwin,
Again Tajmehal is shrouded in a lot of myth. Projection of Shahjehan as an epitome of love is another fraud perpetrated on unsuspecting Indians.
His coffers were empty and his regime was fraught with wars with various countries. Ruthless taxation policy was the order of the day.
So it is difficult to believe that he would have spent nearly 22 years building a monument when he was financially bone dry! Further
He had a harem full of women and worse, had an incestous relationship with his own daughter- Jahan Hara who wielded enormous political clout.
This man who had no finer emotions is hailde as a symbol of love and was supposed to have built a beutiful monument for his beloved wife!
He never built anything. He only entered Rajput palaces as an usurper and remodified them.
Be it red fort or the Taj, they have a lot of Hindu motiffs that are a taboo to Islam. the marble stones at the TAj when subjected to Carbon isotopes indicate a period that was way ahead of Shajahan's era!
More details can be had from a Pune based historian and researcher's (Prof. PN Oak)book called "Tajmahal-the Hindu palace turned Muslim monument.

Dear Sniping,
If tit for tat was the rule (as it is the Hamurabbi's code, being followed in middle east) world would exist only for the mighty and dirty. Nowhere in my reply or in Gautier's article is it mentioned about "paying the coin" back. What is required is the RIGHT knowledge of history for our future generations. India thrives on its rich culture, we cant shade it grey for some vote bank garnering of politicians.

I do agree with your claim on TN. Either you are new to the state or you refuse to see the obvious.

History of India
by Rajiv Shivashankar on Feb 16, 2007 02:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Let us read a History of INDIA, and not teach our children the history of Delhi and surrounding areas. When I teach my sons history for the CBSE course, I was stunned to see that the entire south was covered in 2/3 chapters, not much on the east till the British came to Oudh, and in the west, we read the history of the Marathas only with the coming of Shivaji.
It should be more accurate now.

Not just CBSE...read through Nehru's Discover of India and see how much of South India has he discovered...3 or 4 kings maximum. South Indian history (if you include the Sangam History) is the oldest record ever existing.

that is because south india history never extended beyond tamil nadu, karnataka and kerala...at least the satvahana of AP were able to resist the mourya empire..you do know the maurya and gupta empires define India...they had the biggest libraries in taxila and nalanda....the fact south indian kings never really defeated india and thats precisely the reason they are never mentioned......
