WOW...WHAT A JOKE HAPPENING HERE....THE GUY (FRANCOIS GAUTIER) IS A CHRISTIAN WHO IS SO SUCCESFUL IN CREATING A WAR (OF WORDS & SUBSEQUENT BLOOD SHED) BETWEEN HINDUS & MUSLIMS... WAKE UP GUYS.. WE HAVE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO IN LIFE THAN FIGHT ABOUT RELIGION. REMEMBER... GOD MADE MAN...MAN DIDN'T MAKE GOD. RELIGION IS BUT MAN MADE & MOST CERTAINLY THERE ARE SEVERAL FLAWS. THE WORLD IS PROGRESSING & WE SHOUDLN'T BE LEFT BEHIND. WAKE UP TO FACTS FACING US IN THE EYE. LEAVE RELIGION TO THE CLERGIES. THEY ARE GONNA DIE SOON ANYWAY.
Hey Francois Gautier thanks for the article. Preety good!!! Need to know history.
And for all those people who say that Aurangzeb was a bad or ruthless king. I just have 1 thing to say -- no king or kingdom was born with bloodshed and the bloodshed continued even after the king or kingdom died.
The fact is no King was a saint- even Ashoka and Alexander, Ghengis Khan had blood on their swords of innocent people.
So read it, understand it and appreciate it (if u can).

It is easy to tell a lie and the biggest lie is that all religions are equal. There is no religion in the world which can equate to Hinduism and that is a fact.
India is not alone in bloody association with Islam. Much of the present Islamic world was once home to a gentle people with gentler, pantheist beliefs. The great Persian Empire, that is, the House of Achamenes and then the House of Sassan ruled over multi-cultural peoples of Asia and Europe, and bequeathed them perfect freedom to worship their own Gods to find peace of their individual conscience. The year 642 AD saw the advent of Islam; and from this to relatively modern times, the world experienced what it was to be slaughtered in the name of belief.
I am Persian Zoroastrian by extraction; Zoroastrian in belief, Indian in loyalties. The holy vedic land of India gave our people refuge when we faced extinction - for the Hindus this noble action was not even something they gave themselves airs about - they just did their duty. And this duty was one of love, expressed through a timeless deed. These deeds encompass vedic values of humanism; like Hinduism, Zoroastrianism is a vedic religion.
In stark contrast, Persia under Islam sought to exterminate us - we were the infidel. We still are. Islam is the faith of exclusion; it excludes all for the sake of itself. So, what we see in the actions of Muslim rulers such as Auranzeb are abberations - these kings merely carry out action as sanctioned by their faith. To them, the bloodshed is holy. Persia today, in the hub of terror, is the result of its Islamic present - of muslim clerical rule.
It is time that the world awakened to the murderous philosophies that has straddled it for over 1300 years. It is time that the Muslims faced Islam and asked 'why'. It is time muslims reject exclusivism, and embrace the world as a beautiful creation of God. And as is said, a person must face himself or herself to see how beautiful or how ugly he/she looks. So must religion and faith through rational experimentation - something disallowed by pain of death in Islam. The seeds of its own destruction lie within Islam; but then, so do the seeds of its renewal into a kinder, gentler faith of expansion through love alone.
The world has faced many such Auranzebs. But none like in India in which a civilisation has been murdered on the alter of the crescent and the star. But not fully. Bharat awakens again. This holy, beautiful land, where people have so much, without owning aby of it!

My Dear friend you are living in a myth...persecution was never religion based....if you do not believe...count the dead from persecution of all religions and you will realise.....
that almost all religions have been persecuted by madmen...just count how many muslims die daily...
i think the real problem is...and real problem was in...and real problem will be the beliefe tht only islam is a true religion and path to allah is the only path! All problems with islam have only arisen from this fact. This fact only makes muslim feel superior n embibes a sense of hatred in their mind about other religions. So muslims can not live in peace as long as there are other religions exist.

i think its a matter of tolerence n respect towards other paths maintaining love for your own path...n i think its hinduism n thts why its different than other religions. Its high time tht we realise tht religions were created for betterment human and humans r not created for religion.
Its really a good article I read in recent times. Wish this exhibition on 'Aurangzeb' is not only limitted to Delhi, but exhibited all over India. Regards Pidugu Ramesh.

The article is well written and deserved more exposure in other english and regional media. I wonder any of the TV news channels will cover the exhibition and encourage analysis and discussion. Will the organisers arrange to put them on the net, so that non-delhi population gets a chance to see the exhibits.
So it doesnt matter to you if a parliamentarian is a convict, murderer, and corrupt. One who is sitting atop a mass of poor, malnourished and dying people. But it will be a big calamity if he/she is a muslim!!!!

Just try to feel the pain of 15% muslims who have less than 2% representation everywhere....

No dear adfasd, you don't have just 2% representation. In fact you have more than 60% representation. If you take out BJP and Shiv Sena, the rest are fanatically pro-muslim even to the extent of being anti-Hindu at times. Look at the example of Sachar committe's report which is most likely to be implemented. What a shame that in our own country, though being the majority, we are in a minority.

Come dear, 2% of representation is not bcoz anybody has stopped them, its bcoz of them themselves not coming out of their shell & dont wanna come out of their thinkings. Why dont u raise any questions about the gulf countries who dont even allow other faiths to practise their religions frreely???
Our today's problem is not that Aurnagzeb is cruel or not. Problem is why Muslims are franatic the reason is most of the muslims in India are poor and Illiterate and this is main problem, mullah and clergies take advantage of this and instigate them. but if Govt. make them literate and rich then they would give up doing this thing. you can see in most of Danga poor and illiterate people of both the community involve. and politicians and clergies of both the community get advantage.

Then by your same logic, why are the muslims in Arab countries taking to terrorism. Are they poor? All the funding for terrorism is coming from Arab Countries. These guys have all the money in the world and you call them poor. You must be stupid.
