Aurangzeb
by Rajan Daniel on Feb 17, 2007 02:38 PM  Permalink

In one of the paragraph it says "AURANGAZEB PERPETRATED AGAINST INDIANS INCLUDING HIS OWN PEOPLES". What it means? Whether Aurangazeb was an Indian or a Foreigner? Will you clarify? Thanks. Rajan Daniel, India

SEND THE PSUEDO SECULARIST TO HELL

I am sorry for the lack of info that has been reported on the Kazakhstan
issue this last week.

In Delhi it was a slow week. We were trying to meet politicians prior to
thier running off to parliament.Despite the fact that many people are aware
of the issue, the Indian Government has not issued an official statement.
This is primarily due to the composition of the political alliances in the
present government.

In Kazakhstan representatives from the US, UK, and Dutch government met
with the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss our issue. Still,
the Kazakh Government is remaining intransient in it's position.

The Kazakh MFA reported that it has received the request of the OSCE, but
state that,"we have been unfortunately too busy to comply."

The devotees are bravely going out on sankirtan for the marathon.

In a letter from a devotee received yesterday it was said:

"Please do not worry about us. We live as before. Everyone is busy
doing his or her service, there is no time to become distracted. Nobody
even notice the ruins any longer. Whatever may come to us in our lives,
Krishna, the spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, and devotees remain with
us, as they were before and will always be in the future."

Thus, the situation has not improved. We are in need of your prayers and
ongoing support.

With affectionate regards,

BB Govinda Swami

Disgusting!
the hatred and offending languages here are the evidence of the fact that these people want to terrorise and annihilate the belief of majority of the people that there can be peace and prosperity in years to come. just imagine the extent of destruction and gory that such people may cause in the world, if let lose. their mentality is no diferent from those who kill people in the name of islam or any other ideology!
we need to be aware of such minds, whether muslim, hindu, christian or any other!
these are the minds who killed kashmiri pundits in kashmir, sikhs in '84, muslims in gujarat & so on......
having read the postings, i'm afraid the task of spreading peace and harmony seem way ahead....! i fail to understand what do we exactly want to convey???
it's all very unfortunate and disgusting!!!
nonetheless, i am afraid, what would the world be like if all the majorities living in different nations begin to think and behave the same way regarding their minorities as we are witnessing here???
my dear brothers and sisters let islam be for muslims to think and decide for, let hinduism be for muslims to think and decide for and so on..., but let Bharatiyata be for all of us to think sincerely for....!!!
Jai Hind!!

TERROR IS A MUSLIMS MOTIVATOR IN FORM OF QURAN .
READ WHAT QURAN HAS TO SAY :
A muslim whose ancestors was terrorised and slaughtered then
they were ultimately forced to become Muslim has written a
book were he critically analyses the terror handbook "QURAN".
No other religion can match the ferocity and the violence which
is advocated in this book , Violence against Jews , Christians
and any other religions is explained in detailed . It is a monstorous
creation of a perverted mind .

Major parts are mentioned for all those to see and understand the
facade behind the religion of peace [ uuugggggghh] .I have digitised
the book and i have uploaded to the link wherein you can download
if you are not afraid required ,

http://rapidshare.com/files/16716007/The_Islamic_Jehad.pdf.html

I particularly recommend the reading of verses to verses explanation
which no muslim will deny it is not written . If you like it tell your friends
about it and email it to as many people as possible.

Comments and responses awaited at cyberhinwa@gmail.com ,

Question for all Muslims : If PISSLAM is about peace why do Muslims justify to other religions that PISSLAM is religion of peace instead of telling their own Muslims and stop KILLING innocents ????????

Delving deep into History will get us no where. Let us think how we can live in peace. Ignorance is bliss - they say. Today's current education and globalisation should bring this topic to a halt. There is no time to fight on irrelevant topics. There should be a fight to give people their rights. Religion should only be a means to keep you on the right path and not to kill each other. Poverty and illiteracy will drive India to the grave. Wake up guys.

Hatred spreads hatred. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Go one and join the band of killers.
There are people in the world who wear the same attire for a year or two. Same kind of food for their lifetime. Politicians and big businessmen take this to their advantage.
How many Indians talk politely to the waiter in a wayside restaurant? How many of us use the word sorry & thank you? How many of us respect each other? We are still a long way to go pal. We are cutting each other throats one way or the other. Religion is just another name. God damn!

URGENT NEWS: Government of Kazakhstan demolishes cottages in Hindu community

KAZAKHSTAN:THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION

Kazakhstan routinely denies that its attacks on and demolition of a Hare Krishna commune are religious freedom issues. Yet this is contradicted by the presence of a state religious affairs official, Ryskul Zhunisbayeva, at the latest court hearing, Forum 18 News Service notes. Questioned what her role was, Zhunisbayave immediately screamed that this has "nothing to do with religion." Lawyers working with the community have withdrawn from the case. "You don't understand us %u2013 you have no family," one lawyer told a devotee, who commented that "Probably they're scared." Also, two Baptists' appeal against large fines for religious activity without state registration has been rejected. As the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe's (OSCE) Advisory Panel on religious freedom states that it is it is "deeply concerned" by Kazakhstan's actions, the country's bid %u2013 to be decided next week - to chair the OSCE in 2009 is attracting increasing opposition. This should only happen "if Kazakhstan takes immediate verifiable steps to implement its OSCE human rights pledges, including on freedom of religion or belief," the respected US Commission on International Religious Freedom has stated.

As well as demolishing part of a Hare Krishna commune before the conclusions of a state Commission supposedly appointed to resolve the state's dispute with Hare Krishna devotees were announced, Kazakhstan has reopened five legal cases it had previously withdrawn against devotees, Forum 18 News Service has learnt.

The Commission increasingly appears to have been a device to deflect criticism of Kazakhstan's state religious intolerance (see F18News 17 November 2006 http://www.forum18.org/Archive.php?article_id=872). Despite earlier official assurances, demolition of the commune started before the Commission issued any report (see F18News 24 November 2006 http://www.forum18.org/Archive.php?article_id=876).

On the afternoon of Sunday 26 November, devotees were told that the legal cases had been reopened by the Hakimat (District Administration), Maksim Varfolomeyev, the Hare Krishna spokesperson, told Forum 18 from Almaty. Devotees were also told that the cases would be heard in court at 3 pm the following day, Monday 27 November. However, when they arrived for the hearing, devotees were told the cases had been postponed until 30 November.

"The five cases are identical to the previous ones," Varfolomeyev told Forum 18 on 1 December. "The five home-owners are accused of not having proper documents of ownership of the land, and that they are using the land contrary to its designated purpose." He said the suits call for t

Friends why blame the Muslims? Why blame Aurangzeb? Look at US HINDUS!!
This website is now filled with so called 'liberal' and 'secular' and 'intellectual' Hindus protesting against gautiers article.

These Pseudo secular and cowardly Hindus are our biggest enemies. It is only when their Mothers and sisters will be raped by Muslims after 15-20 years, will they realise how COSTLY THEIR COWARDICE is for themselves!

Look at our leaders also, look at mulayam singh, look at lalu. They are not ashamed of themsleves. Inspite of being descendants of Lord Krishna look what they are doing to their religion for vote bank politics.

Hence friends do not blame muslims! They are doing here what they are doing everywhere in the world!
But look at America's response!!Look at Britain's response!! Look at Israel's response!!
And then look at our Prime Minister and the Super Prime minister! Look how weak we are and HOW SELFISH OUR LEADERS ARE.

All Hindus (Upper, OBC, SC, ST or whatever...#@*&#)must come together and beat these pseudo secular hindus friends. They are much more dangerous than muslims.

They are cowards who are already pissing in their pants.

Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb: Bad Ruler or Bad History?

By Dr. Habib Siddiqui
Posted: 9 Jamad-ul-awwal 1427, 5 June 2006

Of all the Muslim rulers who ruled vast territories of India from 712 to 1857 CE, probably no one has received as much condemnation from Western and Hindu writers as Aurangzeb. He has been castigated as a religious Muslim who was anti-Hindu, who taxed them, who tried to convert them, who discriminated against them in awarding high administrative positions, and who interfered in their religious matters. This view has been heavily promoted in the government approved textbooks in schools and colleges across post-partition India (i.e., after 1947). These are fabrications against one of the best rulers of India who was pious, scholarly, saintly, un-biased, liberal, magnanimous, tolerant, competent, and far-sighted.

Fortunately, in recent years quite a few Hindu historians have come out in the open disputing those allegations. For example, historian Babu Nagendranath Banerjee rejected the accusation of forced conversion of Hindus by Muslim rulers by stating that if that was their intention then in India today there would not be nearly four times as many Hindus compared to Muslims, despite the fact that Muslims had ruled for nearly a thousand years. Banerjee challenged the Hindu hypothesis that Aurangzeb was anti-Hindu by reasoning that if the latter were truly guilty of such bigotry, how could he appoint a Hindu as his military commander-in-chief? Surely, he could have afforded to appoint a competent Muslim general in that position. Banerjee further stated: "No one should accuse Aurangzeb of being communal minded. In his administration, the state policy was formulated by Hindus. Two Hindus held the highest position in the State Treasury. Some prejudiced Muslims even questioned the merit of his decision to appoint non-Muslims to such high offices. The Emperor refuted that by stating that he had been following the dictates of the Shariah (Islamic Law) which demands appointing right persons in right positions." During Aurangzeb's long reign of fifty years, many Hindus, notably Jaswant Singh, Raja Rajrup, Kabir Singh, Arghanath Singh, Prem Dev Singh, Dilip Roy, and Rasik Lal Crory, held very high administrative positions. Two of the highest ranked generals in Aurangzeb's administration, Jaswant Singh and Jaya Singh, were Hindus. Other notable Hindu generals who commanded a garrison of two to five thousand soldiers were Raja Vim Singh of Udaypur, Indra Singh, Achalaji and Arjuji. One wonders if Aurangzeb was hostile to Hindus, why would he position all these Hindus to high positions of authority, especially in the military, who could have mutinied against him and removed him from his throne?

Most Hindus like Akbar over Aurangzeb for his multi-ethnic court where Hindus were favored. Historian Shri Sharma states that while Emperor Akbar had fourteen Hindu Mansabdars (high officials) in his court, Aurangzeb actually had 148 Hindu high officials in his court. (Ref: Mughal Government) But this fact is somewhat less known.

Some of the Hindu historians have accused Aurangzeb of demolishing Hindu Temples. How factual is this accusation against a man, who has been known to be a saintly man, a strict adherent of Islam? The Qur'an prohibits any Muslim to impose his will on a non-Muslim by stating that "There is no compulsion in religion." (surah al-Baqarah 2:256). The surah al-Kafirun clearly states: "To you is your religion and to me is mine." It would be totally unbecoming of a learned scholar of Islam of his caliber, as Aurangzeb was known to be, to do things that are contrary to the dictates of the Qur'an.

Interestingly, the 1946 edition of the history textbook Etihash Parichaya (Introduction to History) used in Bengal for the 5th and 6th graders states: "If Aurangzeb had the intention of demolishing temples to make way for mosques, there would not have been a single temple standing erect in India. On the contrary, Aurangzeb donated huge estates for use as Temple sites and support thereof in Benares, Kashmir and elsewhere. The official documentations for these land grants are still extant."

A stone inscription in the historic Balaji or Vishnu Temple, located north of Chitrakut Balaghat, still shows that it was commissioned by the Emperor himself. The proof of Aurangzeb's land grant for famous Hindu religious sites in Kasi, Varanasi can easily be verified from the deed records extant at those sites. The same textbook reads: "During the fifty year reign of Aurangzeb, not a single Hindu was forced to embrace Islam. He did not interfere with any Hindu religious activities." (p. 138) Alexander Hamilton, a British historian, toured India towards the end of Aurangzeb's fifty year reign and observed that every one was free to serve and worship God in his own way.

Now let us deal with Aurangzeb's imposition ofthe jizya tax which had drawn severe criticism from many Hindu historians. It is true that jizya was lifted during the reign of Akbar and Jahangir and that Aurangzeb later reinstated this. Before I delve into the subject of Aurangzeb's jizya tax, or taxing the non-Muslims, it is worthwhile to point out that jizya is nothing more than a war tax which was collected only from able-bodied young non-Muslim male citizens living in a Muslim country who did not want to volunteer for the defense of the country. That is, no such tax was collected from non-Muslims who volunteered to defend the country. This tax was not collected from women, and neither from immature males nor from disabled or old male citizens. For payment of such taxes, it became incumbent upon the Muslim government to protect the life, property and wealth of its non-Muslim citizens. If for any reason the government failed to protect its citizens, especially during a war, the taxable amount was returned.

It should be pointed out here that zakat (2.5% of savings) and %u2018ushr (10% of agricultural products) were collected from all Muslims, who owned some wealth (beyond a certain minimum, called nisab). They also paid sadaqah, fitrah, and khums. None of these were collected from any non-Muslim. As a matter of fact, the per capita collection from Muslims was several fold that of non-Muslims. Further to Auranzeb's credit is his abolition of a lot of taxes, although this fact is not usually mentioned. In his book Mughal Administration, Sir Jadunath Sarkar, foremost historian on the Mughal dynasty, mentions that during Aurangzeb's reign in power, nearly sixty-five types of taxes were abolished, which resulted in a yearly revenue loss of fifty million rupees from the state treasury.

While some Hindu historians are retracting the lies, the textbooks and historic accounts in Western countries have yet to admit their error and set the record straight.

United we stand
by Jeevan George on Feb 17, 2007 02:25 PM  Permalink

Its most unfortunate that the Frenchman Francois Gautier has chosen to come up with this contentious exhibition and write-up at thsi juncture in time. While it may be true that French Catholics and Protestants massacred each other in the past, and that today that history is studied impassionately in their country, the context is very different in India. We still have more than 30% of our population illiterate. A vast majority of people are not currently in a position of intellectual maturity to objectively look at such devisive issues without emotions. The horrific history of mass bloodshed in the name of communal clashes is a loud testimony to this embarrasing reality. Yes, there would have been gory things that happened in the past, but then again, the past that we want to get so much agitated about, is merely what was once 'current event' that merely got relegated to the pages of history with new events that took its place. What I intend to convey is that our past was enacted out by the same 'breed' of people that occupy the subcontinent today- the people capable of such deplorable acts like Nithari, our sleazy politicians, corrupt babus etc. If people are capable of evil today, and evil is not the monopoly of any particular religion or community, then by normal logic, they would have been capable of the same yesterday too. Let us not be childish in having too much expectation of the people of the past. We are the generation of today, when India is poised on the verge of global greatness and prosperity. Forget the past, see how we can contribute to the preesnt, and build for the future. Squabbling about the past is too easy a preoccupation- the challenging thing is to be a contributor to India's growth today. Will we be upto it?
