the Koran gives four conflicting accounts of Muhammads call to be a prophet [the word, Sura, means chapter]:
Suras 53 and 81 God, or Allah as he is called in Arabic, personally appeared to Muhammad. Suras 16 and 26 The call was from the Holy Spirit. Sura 15 Angels issued the call. Sura 2 Gabriel was the one who appeared to him. Muhammad Revelations At the time Muhammad received his initial visitation, there were over 300 gods being worshiped in Mecca by pilgrims who came there each year to pray at the Ka%u2019aba, a small cubic building that housed a black meteorite and effigies of the various gods. One of those gods was Allah, the moon god.
Muhammad decided to proclaim that there was only one god and he selected Allah as that god. Thats the reason the crescent moon became the symbol of Islam. Muhammad also proclaimed that he was the prophet of Allah.
Initially, Muhammad expected both Jews and Christians to receive his new revelation. Thus, early passages in the Koran speak admiringly of the people of the Book. These are the passages that Muslims in the West love to quote in their effort to prove that Islam is a tolerant religion. An example is Sura 5:82 which says, You will find that those who are nearest in love to the believers [Muslims] are those who say, We are Christians.
Muhammad Rejection But when Jews and Christians rejected Muhammad, he turned fiercely against them, and later passages in the Koran speak of them disparagingly:
Sura 5:51 commands Muslims not to take Jews and Christians as friends. Sura 9:29 commands Muslims to fight against Jews and Christians until they either submit to Allah or else agree to pay a special tax. Sura 2:65-66 and Sura 5:60 contain references to Jews as Capes and swine to be despised and rejected. (Think of that!

we all know, followers of which God are the biggest threat to world peace. more power to America and India has done the right thing by alligning itself with the US. previoulsy Mumbai's black friday was called internal communalism, but incidents like these in India will be dubbed I'mic terrorism in the future and clubbed with 9/11. at the same time, we have to use the present world intolerance to I'mic terrorism to stamp out this evil. since the world has condoned Gutanemo Bay, even we need to open something like this for I'mic terrorists

These are some very sensible arguements and rationale by Anil and gpal. Muslim thought form is crippled beyond repair - thanks to religion monopoly in hands of mullahs, clergy and maulvis of the world. One point, if muslims beleive that allah made this world the allah made hindus and others as well, it is therefore wich of allah that all these co-exist. Is this so difficult to understand? But Islam and Christianity is a big money game by respective clergies, if thought process of followers gets opened and streamlined, both these clergy mafias will loose patronage and hence money and power.

Your knowledge is as limited as your religion, and as confusing as your religion.First of all do not connect Islam with science, it is not at all scientific. Today, I will give you guyz a gyan which will open your eyes, you will not apreciate it becuase Imams and Mullahs will not allow you to do so, nor will pseudo-secular and cowardly popular Indian media. God in hindu context like other religions is formless, colorless, omnipresent etc. However all we humans need some personification of supreme to worship, that's the reason there are idols in hindus. You may say we model god to represent god, nothing wrong in that. Muslims also do this personification for. e.g. you say many times" god listens, god sees, khuda forgives etc." by meaning this haven't you given ears and eyes to god? Ears and eyes are attributes of wordly beings and not the supreme, why do you personify god in this manner? Even your religion needs model to worship, isn't it?. Open you mind and eyes miyan, yeh mullah aur maulvi tumhein ta-zindagi bevakoof hi banake rakhenge.

Inside the kaaba is still the Shivling, Mo yr founder of the cult of death could not bring himself to break it - his adherent did then pieced them back with silver threads. let all the people specially those who want to contest elections to conquer(not just to grab) power atleast pass an exam taking as compulsory subjects ancient history modern history anthropology sociology and linguistics;
this only will stop the teaching of history by politicians at the polilical meetings and their attempt to confuse people with interchangeably using the words nationalism religion and race to their convenience
Someone here wrote Francois G is world-famous.. Francois G is not famous world-wide. He writes/wrote for Le Figaro and some other French mag, but he is not widely known outside his circle of political/ ideological co-travelers. For some reason rediff gives him an occasional space, I don't know why, which he fills with his shallow essays. His writings, because of his bias, is liked by people who has an inclination for sectarian thinking, true. FG's writings are somewhat pedestrian, and has no true depth. But his motivation may be to create divides,in which he succeeds at least in the virtual space (as you can see in this discussion forum here, where you see the virulent divide in full play).I don't know what he hopes to gain from it.
I still wish him all the best, and hopes he improves in his research, as well as in his writing skills, gets rid of his irrational biases and ulterior motives, and one day becomes a true professional writer, which he really wants to be.

I wish you would dissect uneducated, illiterate, gold-digger from an extremely poor family, Madame Sonia Gandhi with the same eloquence you do for a professional, who has done a lot for preservation of Indian heritage and culture, and has done enormous amounts of social work.
By contrast, all Sonia Gandghi achieved in her entire life was to marry into a pwoerful Indian family. She has never lifted a finger to do any social work for Indians, and has enjoyed the priveleged life of foreign expat living in India. She has been instrumental in destroying Indian heritage and culture, and contributed zero to it, and played divisive politics to keep her self in power. Obviously, I can imagine where your loyalties are.
If Gautier had been a çhristian, you would have had no problem is hailing him, and singing praises of him. The white missionaries were right - give a poor dark-skinned heathen a bible, and he will remain loyal to the missionary till the end of his life. Your adulation and support for Sonia, and dislike for Gautier, is understandable.
I don't understand How can somebody be compelled to join a Religion. If and only if ??? the person is convinced then he accepts the other Religion. Stop Blaberring, let me tell you the reason for presence of Islam in India. 1) Sufism, the Mystical way of understanding the Almighty. 2) Caste system which prevailed in Hinduism is the main reason for people attracted towards Islam which is Egalatarian. 3) Giziya Tax for the Unbeleivers is based on the assumption that all the Muslims should give Zakaaat (Charity for Poor)which is the Fourth Basic Pillar of Islam.. Suppose if all the Muslims in India are compelled to accept Hinduism then what will happen ??? People will hate Hinduism and will not accept it at any cost. Same condition applies for all the Religions?? You can never win the Heart of a Man by Compulsion

The traditions and terminology of Islam are all Vedic, Sanskrit. 1370 years ago there was no Islam. Take the term Islam itself. That is the Sanskrit term "Ishalayam" meaning the Temple of God viz. The Kaaba which housed 360 icons of Vedic deities. Mohammad was born in 570 A.D. He proclaimed Islam in 622 A.D and died in 632 A.D. That is to say out of a span of 62 years, Mohammad himself was a muslim for the last 10 years. For the earlier 52 years he was a pagan. His parents were pagans. There are no muslim names. Mohd destroyed all 360 idols, but even he could not summon the courage to completely obliterate the Shivling in the Kaaba. He entered the temple and kissed the black stone. The Shivling was so sacred that the man who so detested idol- worship ended up kissing the largest idol in the Kaaba. Later his followers in a fit of piety broke the Shivling and then out of remorse repatched it together again. Today it lies broken at seven places and held together by a silver band studded with silver nails, bearing the name "Sangey Aswad" which came from the Sanskrit Ashwet meaning non-white or black stone. He jumbled up the Sanskrit words Nama and Yaja (which meant "bowing and worshipping" respectively) into a combination word Namaz and used that to describe his prescribed method of prayer. Because the Vedic custom was to pray facing the East, in his hatred for all things Hindu, he directed his followers to pray facing only the west. The method of circling around a shrine seven times in a clockwise direction is an ancient Vedic custom. Mohd with his lack of originality decided that the 7 ritual perambulations should be retained but again in his hatred of all things Vedic decided the direction of the perambulations should be anti-clockwise. With his phobia of all things Vedic, Mohd knew that the greatest reminder and threat to his forced brand of religion were the beautiful Vedic idols of Arabic temples. Thus he destroyed every idol he could find and made idol worship the greatest crime for a Muslim. Such a man could never have comprehended how an abstract concept can be conveyed through a symbolic representation in the form of an image. Thus he made all image representation a sin as well. Vedic religion is known for its ancient oral tradition. It is well known that the Vedic culture emphasized oral debate and expression far more than the written word. In adition the oral recitation of Vedic scriptures was always done in a lyrical fashion, utilizing music and thus reaching a height of expression. In fear of this musical tradition Mohd decided to forbid Music.
Mohd's uncle was one of the resident priests of the Shiv temple known as "Kaaba". This sacred sanctum was decorated in an extremely rich and beautiful fashion. The Kaaba was astronomically oriented to face the winds. The minor axis of the rectangular base of the Kaaba was solistically aligned towards summer sunrise and winter sunset. It contained 360 statues of Vedic deities and was a shrine primarily associated with sun worship. The temple was an architectural representation of an interlocking set of theories covering virtually all creation and comprehending chemistry, physics, cosmology, meteorology and medicine. Each wall or corner of the Kaaba was associated with a specific region of the world. Thus this glorious Hindu temple was made to symbolically represent a microcosm of the universe. The Arabs would face east when praying. This representation of a microcosm demonstrated by the eight directional structure was derived from the Tantric pattern of Hinduism. Right at the centre of the Kaaba was the octogonal pedestal of Bramha the creator. Today this very pedestal is called Maqam-E-Ibrahim by the Muslims.
the Kaaba was an extremely rich and ornate temple. On its walls hung innumerable gold plaques commemorating the winners of the annual poetry competition known as the Okaj fair. There were gold, silver and precious gems everywhere. It is no wonder that Muhammad armed with his facade of a new brand of religion set out to capture the immense wealth of the Vedic shrine of Mecca. After plundering the riches of The Kaaba, the wealth enabled him to systematically destroy all traces of the religion that threatened him so directly. It is an indisputable fact that money will make any low criminal devoutly religious in a hurry.
Jesus never performed namaz. Jesus is the Son of God. You can view the original bible which is some 2.500 years old in the British Museum in London. You can also view bits and pieces of your quran written on stones (China had already invented paper by then and Egyptians were using papyrus) in the same museum. Oh, the whole mish mash was assembled some 200 years after Mohd's death.
Shame on you. Go and do some proper reading and research. Oh, I am not a Christian, so don't get rabid!
