Shashi tharoor
by Devendra Rawat on Feb 10, 2007 05:55 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mr. Shashi tharoor is a shining star and his services can be utilised any where and he will prove to be role model for younger generations. It is obvious that he can not into moon's hierarchy. He doesn't need moon but It is moon which need him (shining star) if he really recognizes his ability.

Rashmiji-
It isz not the question of Hindus or Muslims. I get very disappointed with Indian minds when relatively educated folks like you always prey on communalism. I think it is high time we begin to look at the world beyond just a Hindu-Muslim or Muslim-West conflict. What about Humanity, for God's sake. Come on , wake up and smell the coffee. The world is changin very fast, and don't harp on things that gets you nowhere, instead offer suggestions.

Peace.

Dear Faiz Jaffiri,

You might be a messiah who talks of Humanism from your group. The world is changing but narrowing down very fastly. Just explain me what the violence in Banglore has to do with something happens else where. I will tell things have to change and will change in India atleast the people started speaking. Just remind yourselves what are the sermons made in Friday afternoons are they not anti-national I will bet 95% of them are antinationa. You and others harp the song of pseudo secularity for propagation and some of the majority communities do it for sake of popularity, drama and garner votes. we all know this.

Regards

Good point, Surya. I might be the messiah from my group. But you know what ? You will find a small group of people from every community who have made their objective in life to invoke anti-nationalistic, or anti-minority or anti-whatever that provokes riots, anger and what not. I have personally been a victim on several occassions, but does that mean I start writing columns on how bad Hindus are treating Muslims in India ?? Of course not, cuz I know they are a small number who are mostly un-educated, not widely traveled, not schooled properly, came from a communal background, etc etc. This happens in every culture, city, state and country of the world.

The point I am trying to make here is that anyone who is browsing REDIFF.com and reading up on Shahshi Tharoor's resignation is ought to be , well.. educated, smart, open-minded, Indian and possess balanced-opinion. So when I read comments made on Hindu-Muslim trust, and Taliban, etc, it saddens me cuz then I picture INDIA going to the dumps.

I would strongly suggest you read up "The World is Flat" and you will know what the whole world thinks about INDIA today, and they will continue to think that way, unless we start hearing comments by people like Prabhudas & Rashmi earlier on.

Have a good one !!

I rest my case. As long as we have mind-set of people just like yourself, We are never going to get anywhere. Look at the difference between my comment and yours. I never brought up the subject of where Hindus stand or what have they doen to the minority community cuz I know that this is not the platform to bring up these issues, therefore let's look above and beyond what Muslims think about Taliban or like you say,"Mullah Omar etc". But you, my friend, very quickly put all the blame on Muslims.

For once, please take a leaf out of Western culture on what is "politically correct" and how to approach burning issues without blaming one faction over other. At this rate, we INDIANS are never gonna get anywhere. I was born and brought up in INDIA, proud to be INDIAN and have never felt any prejudiced against any class, sect or religion only because I am way too open-minded.

Come on guys, lets grow out of this Hindu-Muslim thing, don't you get it ?? The politicians are using people just like you to get your vote in their vote bank. Trust me.

Love & Peace

YES UN SHOULD BE SCRAPPED! It is a waste of time and resources. It reflects post ww2 world order not todays reality. I am not sure that countries in security council with veto power will ever allow any change to add anyone else. So I say as far as India is concerned, keep the nukes upto date, withdraw from or just ignore the UN.

UN doesnt serves its purpose.

India and Russia need to join together and think on something new, and please keep china out who wants to rule the world with no general elections.

And CPM please at least now speak for Indian interests rather than being a China mouth piece.

If UN doesn't serves its purpose for the world,
then it shouldn't exists.
If it exists and serve the purpose of few,
then why we call it as UN & what is the purpose
of its existence. Let us dissolve,
by not participating in it.

Whatever it has done is enough, the only thing is that whenever UN does anything good there is no recognition but people point towards the job that is not done yet. Try looking at what UN has done, then say.

I am asking, what UN has done to prevent
200,000 people killed & 2 million people
displaced. Still some one using Veto and allows
to kill even more.
Also other part of the world.
There is no respect for soft countries like
India. All respect goes to wrong doers &
abusers because of UN.

The territory that India claimed as its own and China claiming as theirs.

At India-china war time Communists said(CPM)

The territory that India claimed as its own and China claiming as theirs.

Still CPM brings speakers from china to their meetings for giving lecturers.

Recently when India didn%u2019t give accent to a project to a Chinese company siting security concerns, cpm was all up in their arms against this.

I don%u2019t know why cpm is doing this even now. Some very good people in the party, still they cant think from indias point of view.

CPM always democracy, democratic principles etc..
And where is the democracy in china?.

No general elections where all can participate.

Dont the people have the choice to select on whom to rule them?

Is it the right of communist party to decide for all people.

And cpm supports this.

cant be that sensitive ,,,, thats the problem with truly good ,intelligent guys .... too sensitive , they drop out fast , so what if so many things are against you ,,, does anyone have his personal email ?,, you can't quit , some times you have to be quiet for a while , take the nonsense and swallow your ego ,,, and not speak at thhe wrong time ...... then when the right time comes you'll be able to do your work and make the difference ,, this is problem good ppl give up with a little bulllying then the system never changes ,, u're well versed in most fields ,,, and not only that you have the ideas and the creativity to actually one day have things implemented,,, stick it out ,, see whats happening ,, at the end of the day see who you want to be ....the guy that makes the difference in any field that help the ppl and nations of tom .......or just a guy who gets hurt when he's not heard or respected ,,, maximum work gets done by people in this world who let others take the credit sometime leave even without foot prints but they make sure they help , they make a difference ........rest of us just keep shouting , screaming , arguing politely or in an unparliamentary manner stirring more egos and no work gets done ... come on Tharoor you're one of a kind and did us so proud .....keep walking those mountains
