mediocre

Shashi Tharoor is just a mediocre bureaucrat whose time has run out. Maybe he will get back to being just a mediocre writer.

We never knew, who r u gentleman
IMMEDIATELY LIKE BUDDHA GOT ENLIGHTENED
people are thinking u got eternal powers and u can turn the wrong doers and things right.
Its a sincere advice - as u resigned - BETTER SIT AT HOME AND DIE ENJOYING LIFE - forget about the pain of people NIETHER U HAVE DONE ANYTHING AND NOR YOU CAN DO.

Shashi tharoor resigns
by anish pk on Feb 10, 2007 09:25 AM  Permalink

Its a good decision by tharoor . hats of to you tharoor.
But is the highest seat suit for moon... I dont think so... his selection was the mind blogging by the US and a safe interest from China.. Moon is not having the charisma and will that annan is having and I dont think that moon will be able to work independently .. He will be mere puppet in the hands of US... and again the UN has fallen in the hands of the imperial... Now US can make another Iraq or Afganisthan even with a nod from UN....
Tharoor you have to return to India... lots has to be done ... and lots of work remains pending here for you... you have to clean up all this dirty politics in India... better be prepared for the ultimate....

Sashi Tharoor
by Pradip on Feb 10, 2007 09:15 AM  Permalink

Wonderful innings Sashi. One thing I failed to understand was why India preferred to focus on UN Secretary General post in lieu of a permanent security council position. That wasn't a correct strategy and India's half-hearted approach did not evoke much interest. Big daddy talked and talked, never extended support. All-out efforts and a proper homework are essential ingredients of a successful diplomacy and we lacked that pro-active assertions. The UN is still infested with a world war-centric mindset, something like a KALNEMI KA LANKABHAG. The inclusion of India, at least one Middle Eastern state and a representation from Africa will provide a meaningful re-structuring of the UN. PERESTROIKA, the darling phraseword of the West is conspicously absent in UN. Quite often UN has been misconstrued as a tool for the Western world to legitimise its apparently illogical or arm-twisting actions. We sincerely hope that Sashi Tharoor will work upon to make UN a credible institution for resolving global conflicts. GOOD LUCK SASHI.

I am telling India, if you resign, lot of
nations will join you.
Like non-aligned movement in Indra's period,
we can lead the nations.
I am sure that lot of countries are very hatred
aganist that UN-organization.
