Same is the case with China.
Every import from China, the money goes to
Paki Nuclear Facilities.
Boycot Chinese Products too

Also, pl. understand one thing:
Importing from China means, destroying existing
manufacturing plants.
All You are talking here something about
creating what ever is not exists.
First think about destroying your existing
stuffs!
It is good to know that,
India going about in right direction.
Previously imported air plane, helicopter,
missiles every thing.
Now, started manufacturing small light
helicopters, brahmos missiles etc.
But fighter jets with that brains like
F-xx needs more investment, that we cannot
make that much fast. So, better import them
to fill the gap.
Also, the capability & advancement of one
fighter jet in the F-xx class will replace
our few airplanes and nullify the cost
difference in the long run.

Also, there is no problem in buying from our
Childhood friend Russia. But we have to insist
for few areas in collaboration, as we are buying
in bulk, we can ask them for collaboration,
nothing wrong in that.
The chinese are doing that in JF Thunder, they
are using the Russian Engine.

Instead of waisting billions to buy other fighter jets Indian govt should spend sufficient money and resources to indigeniously
build it. We can! we have good engineers and scintists. If Govt ready to spend one sukoy's money for reserch our engineers will make it happen in a year.

GOI can start , but they need to setup technology assimilation industries like china that steals and reverse engineers western technology.

Yes , Sunil you are right . India had planned to induct LCA in to forces by 2000 , but we still flying technology demonstrators with engine built by GE. LCA may or may not battle worthy even if its completed successfully since the design which LCA, progressing is decades old. As of now replacing old MiGs with new foreign built fighters is a only option .

The only way to solve this problem is to privatise the aeronautical industry. If this was turned into a competitive market with collaborative efforts, we would be much better off. Just look at how the US manages to get top notch defense equipment via competition from its private sector (Lockheed, NorthorpGrumman, Pratt&Whittney, Boeing etc.)

First is why this expenduture of defence? why not be friend with neighbouring countries? If there is khujali for fighting it can be done on the cricket ground.
Still If we want to build up the defense then why not indigenous as we have scores of engineers and such people why not use them and give the more jobs to indians then giving it to foreign countries?

So, who is responsible for increasing Indian
Defense, you mean? That is also one of your
question?
Is that right?

by Sunil on Feb 08, 2007 08:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Well done Manmohan and ur team along with Defence secrectary, American were forcing us to purchase there F16 in huge billion dollor and they will not give access to its parts and other technology to keep an upper hand on us. to put pressure for changin our Foreign policy They will take money from us in terms of billions of dollar then they will give to PAKISTAN. But our Team judged their intention very well in the begining.
SAME THING HAPPENED TO US IN CASE NUCLEAR TREATY, THEY WANT US TO SIGN TO GIVE UP NUCLEAR TEST IN FUTURE. WANTED TO HELP HIS ALLY PAKISTAN. They wanted to take back residue Uranium and other stuff, so that they will GIVE TO PAK.
AMERICAN ARE THE MAIN HINDRANCE IN PEACE BETWEEN INDIA AND PAK... because of there dollars these useless Pakis are standing in front of us.

Whatever happened to LCA
by Venkat on Feb 08, 2007 08:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The LCA programme was started way back in 1983, but things got moving only when NDA was in power..now again its on the backburner and we are wasting money on russian flying coffins(Migs have proved it and now sukhoi will prove it). Its such a shame that India produces lakhs of engineers every year but cant produce ones which can build a jet...it may be difficult..but russians americans etc have done it..so its possible!

Unless Indian education becomes more research oriented as opposed to current book-based, Forget LCA, we can't build small LCDs.
