dear brothers
by Uttar Pradesh on Feb 07, 2007 07:29 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

it seems like Karanataka will only be happy if no water was given to TN, Kerala or Puducherry. Is that what Karnataka wants. How do you expect the Indian economy to grow if we cannot share. The commission only asks to release 192tmc of water. How much do you want to release?

Water is a commodity that we share even with Bangladesh and Pakistan. Can we ever tell another country that we cannot share water because even during drought times, we have shared water. Everyone takes a hit during drought. It is the same for the southern state. Now I want you to think and tell me, how much water do you want to release to TN, Kerala and Puducherry. if it is 0%, then you need to build a dam so you can flood yourself during heavy rain season. Is that what you want?

what makes you assume that karnataka will be happy if no water was given to TN,kerala or others. before you write something you should know something. This guy seems to write just for the same, without reading/thinking. Go get your statistics somewhere near facts mate.

by S on Feb 07, 2007 06:59 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I happened to chance upon this video showing what's happening in B'lore over this vedict.

http://www.ibnlive.com/videos/32868/cauvery-protests-150-held-in-blore.html

It is shocking, anti-nationalistic, and anti-development.

Am sure there are other means of protesting but violence, and bandh shld not one of them.

Karnataka and Water Sharing
by S on Feb 07, 2007 06:38 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Wait till there is another direction on the sharing of Krishna and Godavari waters with AP. Karantaka seems to fighting with all its neighbours by following a narrow approach on sharing of waters. They have a built a huge dam called Almatti to reduce downstream flow of water to AP and this causing serious water problems to farmers in AP. Why should only Karantaka farmers benefit from waters of rivers which are national resources? This shows the narrow mindedness of the govt. there.

Do you guys have no other job than commenting on topics you have the least knowledge on? This is no forum to promote your vengence on each other. I would recommend rediff to restrict posting comments on sensitive topics such as these.

i am from AP. We like Tamilians much more. Look at the number of Telugus who live in Chennai. Telugus and Tamils live peacefully. even when there is inter-state tension, no tamil will ask telugus to leave the state. Thats because we are peace loving people

Mr Nats, Tamilnadu is not capable of even having a river but they dream of having country. Leave these guys and they want the whole world, Just like a virus. They always spit in the same bowl as they eat. they take water from kannadigas and ask them to jump into Arabian Sea, no use responding to such genetically disordered people.

by illusion of me on Feb 07, 2007 04:08 AM  Permalink
sorry... i know that was harsh, but just trying to say that these are flase allegations. I agree even if a single human dies, he/she would be mother/father/son/daughter to someone and that hurts. But just trying to say the what was wrong in the false accusations. I have lots of tamilian friends in bengalur and we dont want anything like this to happen to them and we amke sure they are safe. pleae do not hurl anything and everything at us.
