Totally unfair verdict of the tribunal. 90% of Tamilnadu's demands have been met by the tribunal. Water level at Cauvery river is going down because of depleting foests in Karnataka. Tribunal has not said anything about the water level at KRS & Mettur dams and pattern of usage. Bangalore City is growing leaps and bounds is depending on Cauvery of drinking. 40 tmc is required for drinking water. Bangalore has about 30% tamil population. What do Bangalore tamilians say about this judgement?

what is the basis for such a verdict
by Naresh V on Feb 05, 2007 02:55 PM  Permalink

This is real politics in action. The UPA has submitted to the pressure from DMK as its partner in central rule. The bad fate of karnataka is that the oppsition is in rule in karnataka compared to center. So the UPA gets 2 birds with one shot.Satisfies their partner & gives a good position to congress to bring down the jds govt talking about unrest & unruly conditions that arise out of the decision in Karnataka.

Welcoming Judgement

The verdict has well decided how the river's water should be shared between Tamil Nadu and the other states. Water is a national resource and its nation duty to share it.

Bravo! Cauvery Trbunal for the judgement

hi i think another case can be filed against the same issue and both the states can come for a compromise where in both the state farmers can be beneficiated.
