Right verdict at the wrong time
by GMRajasekaran Murugavel on Feb 05, 2007 03:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It's really a good verdict but should not the people of Karnataka indulge in violence.A long pending decision considered all the possibilities. People of Karnataka have to accept this.Ofcourse we all are Indians and should not be divided in the name of states.

Politically motivated report
by suresh n on Feb 05, 2007 03:05 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

With DMK the key ally in UPA , there couldnt be more injustice perpetrated against karnataka, especially IT City bangalore. Not just farmers but even common people would suffer by this!

It is purely based on the need and basics of the agreement between the two states, where is the role of political motivation, atleast the truth has come at the last.

The decision is not formal, they have to reconsider this decision to stop the violence in Karnataka.

Farmers are affected from this...

land=water
by ganesh kumar on Feb 05, 2007 03:05 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Based on the availability of irrigational land in both the states, the verdict has been given. TN got more %, since the water has to cover more areas.

If they have more irrigational land, let them have a capacity of store the water and not let the water go to sea.

It is not the matter of the using the ground water or sea water, you must adhere with the intial agreement, you had been denying to share now you are facing the face of the truth.

dont measure entire tamilnadu for calculating land.. if you say that way the drinking water to bangalore itself is not available... why should karnataka consider your farmers land...

You are right. Cauveri is not 100 or 200 yrs old. It is more than 2000 yrs old and been used by the people of cauveri basin since the civilasation formed in that area. The verdict includes all the past and present utilities & rights applicable.

Kannadigaaas Be Cool
by Gnanamani Muthiah on Feb 05, 2007 03:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I request all kannadiagas to be cool on Tamilians of Karnataka. Here in Tamilnadu, our Kannadigan brothers are cool and calm and they know that we are just not rivals of them.
Hope you people also will safegaurd your tamilian brothers there. Note that we did not even touch a single kannadiga when there were incidents when tamilians were torchered in Karnataka.

One thing we will have to understand is that we and we as people contributed to the growth of our nation as it stands today. We sacrified so many things for being rated as the best. This is possible and will be possible as we see ourselves as ONE PEOPLE with all our differenences. Karnataka or Tamilnadu will not have seen such a development if not for the migartion of people. One gains as the other looses. With the passage of time and migartion taking place Karnataka will be a home state for many Tamilians and vice versa. Let us hope for the good out of the Award. Let us not be like Pakistan and India viewing each other with suspicious.

Regards

Karunanidhi Once again saves TN People
by pavan gururajan on Feb 05, 2007 03:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

After successfully getting several IT and auto companies to TN, and running several successful projects for poor, the Government once again succeeds in getting the legitimate and just demands from the court. Congrats to all concerned.

People from Karnataka also please note that the actual outflow will only be 192 tmcft as per the order.

Live and let live!!!

The message is clear on the wall
by Naresh V on Feb 05, 2007 03:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

UPA has scored one more six.In one shot they satisfy their partner DMK & create unrest in karnataka which is ruled by their opposition JDS.This gives the local congress party a good tool to talk against the JDS govt for all disturbances & law & order situation that will be caused in karnataka as a result of this verdict.I think, a better solution would have been to give equal shares for both TN & karnataka.
