Folks lets remember that the number of farmers dependent on kaveri water and who sufferred the vagaries of the river water from 1982 is pretty high... Moreover a river is a nation's wealth .. we south indians are supposedly known to be soft and calm by nature .. lets accept this verdict and proceed with our work. Lets not rake up emotions .. We need to progress !
i feel the award is slightly in favour of karnataka.. as instead of 205 tmc feet of water to be released by karnataka now 192 tmc feet has to be actually released...
Hi All, these are the facts of the tribunal decision,please do not go on a mass hysteria... ---- New Delhi, Feb. 5: The Cauvery Water Diputes Tribunal has announced its verdict today. As per the verdict Tamil Nadu will get 419 tmcft water and Karnataka 270 tmcft. Kerala and Puducherry will get 30 tmcft and 9 tmcft water respectively. Actual release by Karnataka to Tamil Nadu to be 192 tmcft annually. ---
