Total abuse of power
by Narasimha Swamy on Feb 05, 2007 03:12 PM  Permalink

The tribunal has totally abused its powers and given a hopeless verdit. Should Karnataka people hang themselves? Why can not they treat both states equally. This is totally unacceptable and we Kannadigas should be ready to fight a long legal battle again.

Injustice and dirty politics
by SHIVA SP on Feb 05, 2007 03:12 PM  Permalink

Friends,
Despite good argument and evidences by our Advocate Mr. Narimann...and failure of TN to give proper information on Mettur Project....we have received a verdict against the goodwill of people of Karnataka.......you can imagine the dirty shameless political game played here by TN and Central Govt. This is not done and not accepteble at any cost.

Injustice
by satish nayak on Feb 05, 2007 03:12 PM  Permalink

It is injustice. Karnataka cannot afford it. There is shortage of water already. Farmers are suffering. On the top of this, this verdict may invite the people's protest.

Instead of this unjustifiable verdict, the government should have come with some new ideas which developed countries are implementing.

TN asks for 205 TMC ft and gets 419 !!!!
by vinayks rao on Feb 05, 2007 03:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why does tribunal wants to give so much of water when the Tamilnadu govt itself doesnt need? Visiting places at one season cant be a good factor in deciding the amounts..
Certainly SupremeCourt and Indian Law needs a fresh look

Make Rivers as national resource
by Manokar Thangam on Feb 05, 2007 03:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Make river water as national resource.
v all r kids of motherindia
So its upto the central govt to decide and share the resource who needs more who can live with less.

TN - depends on other states for water
Karnataka - depends on other states for power

Same way every state has some interdependacies.

Personally no kannadigas and tamilians are enemies but its the politicians who makes this as a issue.

Even farmers of kauvery bed are friends..
they know the water they get is enough for their irrigation.

only the educated fools like us ( who gets news only in net / mails) are milead news spread by media, gundas and politicians

lets stop this nonsense.
live your life - dont spoil others

mano

This is a political ploy
by Ajay M on Feb 05, 2007 03:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

See if we as indians can give water to Pakistan(Indus), Bangladesh(Brahmaputra) then we should not concern ourselves with sharing the water. We are all Indians and we should respect the decision by the supreme authority. They have studied the situation well and taken the right decision. Why there is a fight between the states for water. After all they are all a part of integral india. Its only a hand of some corrupt politicians to increase their vote bank. WE should respect the verdict. Bharat maata amar rahe. Jai Jawan Jai kisan.

Yes we agree that we are all children of Mother India..But why should one child be punished for no reason, to please another..??The delta region is already rich with ground water and they bring up 3 crops per year..Whereas, farmers in Karnataka are stuggling to raise 2 crops due to lack of it..Look at the number of suicides that the farmers have committed..Do u see any such cases in TN..??We dont have any problems with sharing the water..But there should be a justful way of doing it..

Friend I like your spirit of Indianism....but you are not aware of the state of Karnataka farmers..when there is not enough water for our farmers do you ask them to leave all the water to TN and starve to die...This time I can't say Bharat maata amar rahe. Jai Jawan Jai kisan...I can't respect this verdict full of nonsense..sorry
