Verdict is not balanced
by Ramkrishna Patil on Feb 05, 2007 03:22 PM  Permalink

This verdict is against the formers of karnataka, who are mostly dependent on the cauvery water. We should not support this in any case.

Biased verdict
by nagendra mn on Feb 05, 2007 03:22 PM  Permalink

this is totally foul play and and an extremely unfair decision. equal distribution of water would have been fair. not this kind of extreme injustice where knataka is now the scapegoat.

The suprement court won't cheat any community.......

The people who are writting here should mind onething....The supreme court issue the judgement based on the rationality. Don't write rubbish here saying that kannadians are cheated and Tamilian's are awarded either. As a common man we are not sure of the whole history behind this battle...eventually we need follow and implement the supreme court order.

Your ignorance can be matched only by your stupidity. It is not Supreme COurt which has given an order. It is a Tribunal.

Everything is politicized, Jai Karnataka.....
Center has gone blind,as there is no Congress government in Karnataka but a supporting party in TN; then why put people into Hardship like this. We can actually give once we are selfsufficient. When we ourselves dont have water how does three people sitting somewhere in Delhi ask to give water. SHAME ON OUR INDIAN GOVERNMENT..... AND INDIAN JUSTICE

Well...rivers are owned by the state. They are national resources. You can't claim ownership over a river just because it originates there...TN delta region is 90% dependent on Cauvery water alone. Whether it is Karnataka or TN or Kerala/Pondy we are talking about life of farmers. If that is the case, the water sharing should happen on a percentage basis based on proportionate needs. Whatever may be the water that is their in the river should be shared by the same ratio so that loss or gain is also shared across the states. At least something is better than nothing....i know of cases where the farmers were reduced to eating field rats for food as there is no water in cauvery!!

River water dispute
by seshadri santhanam on Feb 05, 2007 03:20 PM  Permalink

It has once again proved to be a feeder for those who now claim and proclaim to be the son of soils in their respective state.

Only way to put an end to these type of sloganeering is to nationalise the rivers and integrate for the entire subcontinent.

It is useless to claim it is my water, it is not your water, injustice to karnataka injustice to tamilnadu.

Politics @ its worst
by harshad prabhu on Feb 05, 2007 03:20 PM  Permalink

I guess they shld have implied NOB (Need on Basis) .. Its a natural resource .. you cannot use decimal and fraction to describe it .. Everyone needs water .. that does not mean dividing it permanently .. Else the solution was to give all the lands near to Cauvery river to karnataka so they can cultivate and develop it .. There are many ways to solve it.. if you understand it correctly
