Cauvery tribunal gives TN 419 tmcft, 270 to Karnataka
by Gurudatta Gayatri on Feb 05, 2007 03:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is a biased verdict since Tamilnadu is supporting the Centre, the verdict is favourable to them. This is totally unjustice. Karnataka should go to Supreme court. it would have been at least equal proportions.

As expected earlier the support is towards tamilnadu (because of support to the center (congress) from TN Government) Eventhough TN has failed to support their statements during the past 16 years.
Karnatak government should not listen to this and should appeal for court.

Cauvery Water
by VenkataNarayanan Kandadai on Feb 05, 2007 03:26 PM  Permalink

By seeing all these messages, i really doubt whether we live in a country with Union of States. Disgusting and hatred messages. Lets Nationalise the rivers like we nationalized the banks, to resolve all water related disputes.

by vivek kumar on Feb 05, 2007 03:26 PM  Permalink

This verdict is very good and justice has been done to all four party but kerala should not get any water.. as its already submerged in water.. their share should go to Karnataka people.

We need to understand situation
by manavalan sai ramanujam on Feb 05, 2007 03:26 PM  Permalink

Most of the mails spreads negative energy/feeling, we educated people not able to channalize our emotions then what is the use? Better both the party control their feeling and in INDIA there is always ways to appeal once again and sit together and find the solution. Time being stop negative remarks and feelings

Judgement should have been 45-55 rule...
by Babu Lokesh on Feb 05, 2007 03:25 PM  Permalink

Out of 689, Karnataka should have got 689*0.45 = 310, and TN should have got 689*0.55 = 378, this would have been a right decision and meaningful. I think tribunal has to review the result and change as early as possible.

More water is required for Karnataka, we use for Agriculture and also for Drinking. People from all over the country are residing here for job and need more water, compared to TN, where water is used only for agriculture. Mettur dam is one of the longest dam to hold 18KM of storage water. Even in March u can more water in dam and is not used properly, most of the water goes to Ocean. Karnataka needs to give water to even for Tamilians & others , so needs more
