Cauvery Verdict against TN to................
by muthu krishnan on Feb 05, 2007 03:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Tamil Nadu hasnt got what it needs and its basic right on Cauvery is once again denied. Against its plea for 562 tmc its has got a very less share. When Karnataka has ample water it would discharge and flood the delta but will not dischsrge water when it is needy here. Surely we would have to think of Some Water Authority of India, like strucutre in future

what do you mean by basic right? come to karnataka I will give to u basic right. cauvery is the life river of kannadighas. No one will leave their life for others sake. it will be logical to share water if we ourselves have enough water but our Karnataka is facing drought like tn and AP. So where do we give water from? Also cauvery water should be requested for not demanded as she belongs to Karnataka. JAI CAUVERY MAATHE, JAI KARNATAKA.

we won't protest paying rs20 per bottle drinking water to big malls and multiplex, but we do protest big big things from safe side of pc, we don't protest ordering glass of water to a child waitor in hotel, but we do protest those biggies,.... start protesting the small things surrounding u, bigger things will start taking shape. politics have made us pawns because of our bowed down head mentalities. We protest only those things going against us and will not be in the full interest of oneself.

KAVERI- THE GODESS
by Unnikrishnan Nair on Feb 05, 2007 03:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What nature has gifted to human should be utilized properly. Kaveri is such a river that it is flowing through 4 states and people of 4 states were enjoying the water for generations. However to meet any crisis somewhere somebody had madesome dam and started storing the water and stored water sharing has created the whole problem.

The problem has studied by lot of experts and now based on some reasons a 3 Judge independent tribunal has given it's verdit. The verdit may not be expected, so democratically the other way out is to go on appeal to SC. Instead of going for damage of other un-democratic things of law taking int to hands better to go for appeal by Karnataka as It is more than the expected quantity by Karnataka. Let us not do any other damage and Media and Ruling governments should take care of the situation. After all it is effecting a small part of big Karnataka and Big Tamilnadu. Hence why un-effected pepole of other parts should get the blame. We are all Indians and Live as Indians irrespective of whatever may be the mother tongue.

-Unnikrishnan

I am not supporting to break the law, at least we can creat a law, insted of thinking that some useless govt will do great to the nation, WHY CANT WE DO????
Here the problem is not of mother tongue, problem is of life lakhs together people who are living only out of that water and small peice of land. Please who will sit in front of PC or in AC room cannot understand the depth of cry what farmers are going thru

You are right but any law that is created is going to be abused of favouritsm as u are seeing now. You are talking of farmers cry, yes they cry everywhere in all the 4 states remember that.

It is predicted that next war will be faught for waters. I guess interested parties should get involved in quickly and take a decision based on facts without involving politics. This could otherwise have adverse effect. WAKE UP GOVERNMENTS AND DO SOMETHING QUICKLY before worst happens!!!

Pathetic decision
by Animesh Naskar on Feb 05, 2007 03:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Karnataka was stripped of its own river water. Tamil Nadu is a state of coastal region. If it needs water, why doesn't it purify ocean water and use. Karnataka has only 1 source of water which dries during summer. If it releases to Tamil Nadu, what will it have?
"Cauvery tribunal" is politically biased.

Justice delayed - Not denied
by raja chidambaram on Feb 05, 2007 03:46 PM  Permalink

Dear All,

What we are all commenting about cauvery, is not just 100 or 200 yrs old. Its more than 2000 yrs old I beleive. Hence the verdict includes the utilisation and rights applicable since the civilsation formed in cauveri basin. Its not about victory for TN or Karnataka, afterall they were all born not even 50 yrs back. It should be administered in right spirit.

Justice to TN
by Ram on Feb 05, 2007 03:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Before the kannadigas criticize the tamilians first understand the clear picture.Only 30% of land in karnataka needs cauvery Water and about 80% of land is totally dependent on cavery water in Tamilnadu and Tanjore distict is the major source for rice cultivation in india. Its the justice given to TN after 16 years and not an injustice to karnataka who try to stop water and create an artificial demand and propagate anti-Tamil in the state. Please do think twice before posting the message.
