Equality should came in all aspects. May be in river issues or any other issues. They have no thinking of people in Karnataka & eager for seat minded people in central.

I am not a tamilian, but I know this issue has to be settled like this only. It is the life of farmers in both the states. When a tribunal (neutral) giving a verdict , they would defintely consider the needs of both the parties. LET US UNITE. Let the politicians keep quite and they are the problem creators.

Mr.Swaminathan, The tribunal is not at all neutral you have mistaken. Though Karnataka was arguing well in the court with proper evidences and TN unable to justify certain issues like Mettur Project...The biased judges have given verdict against Karnataka..definitely DMK has played a major role here.....

Mr. Shiva, dont just say as if you saw the argument, first of all dont be biased ... Think on both sides... Karnataka ppl well furnished with water, earning good amounts of money on cultivation is good point. But not on others cost. Have you heard of thousands of farmers in TN suicide because of no water? I understand such cases happened in Karnataka, but have you compared the frequency of suicides ??? Think twice before commenting something, sire...

unfair verdict of the tribunal
by errica emilee on Feb 05, 2007 04:10 PM  Permalink

Verdict of the tribunal is really unfair ans partial. Nobody can ask for a major share of such natural resource.Tribunal should also study the aftermath of such verdicts by them. Both TN and Karnataka has to pay for the heavy losses which takes after such verdicts.Inorder to put an end to such problems it should be divided equally among two states. This ratio is really unfair and partil for karnataka.Ruling party has to take the next step immediately inorder to stop any problems arising out of this verdict.C.M has to look into it.

Cauvery tribinal has given an excellent verdict, ofcours it is little short of expectation from Tamilnadu.

It is the duty of india and indians to protect the land of Tamilnadu which holds the major industries of India. This heavily industrialised state needs water for its industries and more importantly for farmers.

Kannadigas should accept this verdict for the sake of their own land. They should remember that for ELECTRICITY & FOOD ,they largely depend on TAMILNADU as do KERALA depends on TN.

Assume Tamilnadu denies electricity and food to kannadigas today. Immediately Karnataka will be in dark and kannadigas will be forced to buy food grains and vegetables for costliest price from other states.

Kannadigas should learn the art of sharing.
If karnataka keeps denying water to TN, there will be oneday when Karnatak will be in dark and will be starving for food. But tamilians wont do that. We know the art of sharing.

I hope Kannadiga will not make their city called BANGALORE to live with CANDLES.

Your subject is "Good decision, lets all support Indian judiciary." I wonder if you would write the same if the verdict were in favor of Karnataka. You seem confused madame...We are 2 adjacent states of a country called INDIA. We are not 2 scrapping countries who are at cross-purposes.Pls dont form your opinions entirely based on political propoganda.

Here's something for your to ponder on:
Both Kerala & Karnataka have abundant natural resources, including water. So if TN feels that it can hold these states to ransom, its sadly mistaken.. You see at least these 2 states have the resources required to harness electricity. What would TN do if both the states denied you water?
I think you are prejudiced.

Karnataka can take care of it's power requirements. The politicians who govern you need to be thrashed, and you need to be taught the truth. TN's behaviour on the Cauvery and Mullaperiyar issues needs to be studied intensely. Blocking the state borders like TN did with Kerala is NOT neighbourly. Karnataka can buy power from Maharashtra and Kerala. TN also buys power from Kerala. We can afford to buy our vegetables and power from other areas. TN is industrialised, but Karnataka is having the most critical defence industries. What is the great industrialisation in TN that it needs so much water ?
Think and then write.

Today 35% of India's total thermal power is produced in our state. KERALA is buying electricity from our state. As well as they are buying good grains from our state.

Go and sit in Kerala and Karnatak border to monitor the food grains, Vegetables and Milk getting exported to these states.

In a recent visit to india, Srilankan president has requested electricity from TN.

Please read the news atleast before you speak out.

hey so case reult is out today well i have 3 imp points to share with you all people:-

1.If the result is not in favor of Karnataka, does it mean court is dishonest and our justice is doing cheating...take it other way round in case result would have been in favor of Karnataka would ppl here have said same thing "that they are cheating as its dishonest with us".

2.Thing is that , we go by our own perceptions and decision, if result is in our favor the desicion is 100 PERCENT accurate if not then its dishonet

3.If Karnataka was not having in Justice system why was it fighting case for 16 years..

I thank to GOD at least we ppl r not figithng for AIR atleast...

Understand the reality...

An observation on Cauvery Tribuna's Verdict.

Total volume of Water available in Cauvery basin area, including all 4 states TN, Karnataka, Pondicherry & Kerala is 740 TMC

TN pleaded for 560 TMC

Verdict:

TN - 419 TMC

Karnataka - 270 TMC

Pondicherry - 7 TMC

Kerala - 30 TMC

Please note that verdict does not say that Karnataka should release 419 TMC to TN. It only says that TN should get 419 TMC out of total of 740 TMC available in Cauvery. For TN to get 419 TMC, Karnataka needs to release only 192 TMC. TN gets rest of water from Cauvery water capturing area in TN itself. This is 13 TMC less than tribunals' interim award of 205 TMC.

Out of 192 TMC that TN gets from Karnataka, it has to release 30 TMC to Kerala and 7 TMC to Pondicherry.

So, unlike the media projects, verdict is not against Karnataka. It is more or less in line with interim verdict only.

Infact karnataka get more share than TN. Understand the reality..

hey boss..dont twist the verdict....the reality is as per the interim what ever verdict 205 tmc was included of rain, released water..etc....now the released water is more than what prescribed in interim order.....

and also one must understand that TN water includes all sources...i.e released water, from rain..etc..

but k'taka's 270 is sum of water available from all resources....

in other words from reservoir k.taka can use 270 thats all...

but TN is more than that

Boss..How long it will take for us stop ELECTRICTY to KARNATAKA. But we wont do that.
you kannadigas are chota chota brothers to us. We know how these chota brothers will shout within a family. We are the family head and we know how to manage you.
