Saffron victory in Mumbai!
by Jaganniwas Iyer on Feb 02, 2007 06:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Though isuues in a civic elelction are by and large local, our reaction of "Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji, Jai Hindu Rashtra" would be entirely justified after Maharashtra's municipal elections results have been declared. Congratulations, Balasaheb. Well done saffronites, for socking the pinko fundoo media and their self-deluding opinion pollsters right on their faces. I say, what happened to CNN-HT, who, only a few days back were busy selling us their stupid, desk-manufactured, self-deluding hype of UPA on a 'roll?' Uddhav has his work cut out. If he reads the Hindu voters' minds right and strategises accordingly, he could have a possible national role too. Let the Shiv Sena shed its regional parochialism once and for all, and embrace unapologetic nationalism as its core creed. That's the way to go. For now, congratulations. But remember, the voter watches, too

Dear Sir,
How can you do such cheap talk? How can say that the win of Shiv Sena would help Hindus only? How can you conveniently choose to ignore the numerous problems being faced by the other communities as well? In fact, this current trend of religious bigotry by educated people like you is very disturbing.

Mr Iyer I fully agree with Mr Ajit. Why People Consider Hindu means a person who preach religion Hindu. When we say to a Pakistani a Paki the same way we consider the person who stays in Hindustan is Hindu. Therefore slogan goes as Hindu Rashtra, no matter whaterever religion you preach. But we have a very dirty politics to divide and rule and hence we are explained in otherway round which makes us to hate each other. The history says that all religion stayed peacefully like brothers and sisters and still we used to call Hindustan.
Anyway thats anyother issue, going back to Shiv-Sena Bjp Alliance they had shown a good progress in doing their jobs. even when they were in Maharashtra for 5 years. They showed a keen progress of not only Mumbai but other cities of Maharashtra by thinking of infrastructure by building and widened roads. which was not done for 5 decades by the other ruler. Shiv Sena was defeated only because of Jhunka Bhakar. Balasaheb Motive was good, to serve the needy at low cost so that not only the beggars but also the strugglers who come to mumbai wont sleep without food. But the middle man including some Shakha Pramukh made by mistake and they did what they should not. The underground railway plan is very old for mumbai but it was scrapped by saying it is not feasible. Bjp alliance brought this scrap file up and started rethink on it. Much Hyped Bandra - Worli Bridge is again the think which started under their rule. There are so many things which shiv sena did and only saccha mumbaikar knows it.
I hope they should come back once again in Maharashtra Loksabha and they should learn what they did mistake last time and should rule. Definetly they will do good not only to Mumbai but also for the Maharashtra.

Split in oppostion votes helped SS-BJP win in BMC Elections
by madhusoodana rao on Feb 02, 2007 06:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is a known fact that all the elections held in Maharashtra whenever SS-BJP have won its only due a split in the opposition votes.
This time also NCP and Congress fought seperately and lost the elections.Had they fought the elections together it would have indeed be the Burial time for SS.But they dont learn form their past mistakes. So finally SS gets a 5 years bonus life from the NCP and Congress.
So Two Serpents has given life to a Scorpion.

The very fact that they agree with each other on the very basic seet sharing shows they are not fit to rule and they faced right future. If they can not agree with each other partner what will they rule the diversified country like ours.

Mr.Rao, the same fact applies to the congress. They have always won due to a split in votes of other parties. If the other parties get together the congress stands no chance.Even the percentage of votes on an all India basis does not favour the congress.
The geographical boundaries of constituencies have been very cleverly been demarcated by the previous congress governments on caste lines. If a poll on an all India basis is taken then Congress would be thrown out in the Indian Ocean.

About Balasahesb - The Great !
by Rajeshrao on Feb 02, 2007 06:49 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Thackeray is born in a Chandraseniya_Kayastha_Prabhu family and is a Hindu revivalist and Hindu nationalist. Several nationalists within the Shiv Sena (which he helped found) and other Hindu-centric political parties brand him as Hindu Hridaysamrat ("Emperor of the Hindu heart").

[edit] Career

Thackeray started his career as a cartoonist in the Free Press Journal of Mumbai in the 1950s, and was a contemporary of R K Laxman during his early years. His cartoons were also published in the Sunday edition of The New York Times. In 1960, he launched a cartoon weekly Marmik with his brother. He used it to campaign against the growing influence of non-Marathi people in Mumbai. He has also fought trade union control battles with the Communists and Indian National Congress.

He formed the Shiv Sena in 1966 with the intent of fighting for the rights of the natives of the state of Maharashtra (called Maharashtrians)[citation needed]. Politically, it has allied with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Industrialists were generally satisfied with the his clout since Thackeray's draconian control over the employees would ensure a peaceful work environment [1].

Thackeray has claimed that the party has benefited the Marathi Manus (Marathi man) in Mumbai[2], especially in the public sector.[1]. The opposing left wing alleges the Sena has done little to solve the problem of unemployment facing a large proportion of Maharashtrian youth during its tenure, in contradiction to its ideological foundation of 'sons of the soil.'[3]. In addition, Thackeray played a central role in the emancipation of 500,000 slum dwellers in the Dharavi area of Mumbai, the largest slum in Asia. [4] However, the state's policy of giving free houses to slum dwellers has been subject to controversy by the opposing leftist parties ever since it was introduced by the Shiv Sena-BJP government a decade ago [1] [5].

In addition, he led the Sena to an active role in trying to improve infrastructure in Maharashtra, particularly in the financial capital of Mumbai. Nearly 40 flyovers in Mumbai and the Mumbai-Pune Expressway were constructed under the Shiv Sena administration, which led to a significant infrastructural boom in Mumbai. While successive State governments have been guilty of neglecting Mumbai's transport problems, the erstwhile Shiv Sena-BJP government drastically altered the course. Moreover, by initiating a range of road schemes, the Sena unequivocally opted for private, motorised transport in preference to public transport.[6].These moves have been a crucial factor in its increasing popularity within India and the promises of further improvement have boosted the Shiv Sena's campaigns.

In addition to improvements in transport infrastructure, Thackeray has supported initiatives against proprietary technologies such as the "Conditional Access System" for

RE:About Balasahesb - The Great !
by sarang kale on Feb 03, 2007 12:11 AM  Permalink
Thanks for such a good article.......Hope the leading news papers like Times of India and Hindustan Times will ever dare publish the truth. The media is sold to Congress.....what the hell can be expected out of them. People in Maharashtra have a lot to say, but the only thing is published in news is related to the racist congress. I would request all types of media not to supress the voice of Maharastrians. The day will soon come when we will rise under the blessings of Balasaheb and Shiv Sena.

Jai Hind!!!!

Jai Maharashtra!!!!

This is a very good sign for India. It is the Congress which is playing the communal card. Congress is a communal party to the core. We hindus do not want reservation on caste lines. All we want is an equal oppornuty to all.But congress wants reservation on caste lines. Now who is communal BJP- Shiv Sena or congress. All the congressis and commies are communal. Boot them out of India.

Singing Bhajans would be better than eating unhealthy Italian Pizza or cavorting with the Italian Mafia.By the way why do you relate BJP -ShivSena with Bhajans. They are good administrators. They have improved the Infrastructure in Mumbai.
