Bhutto- Anti India, Immoral, Corrupt, Rightly a victim of her rhetoric but yet a loss for the world
by AJ M on Jan 02, 2008 02:34 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Bhutto was as anti India as any Pakistani ISI or military or Maulvi. However it is possible that in her death, US (and thus the world including India) lost an opportunity to eradicate Madrasas and nuclear weapons from our neighborhood. She agreed to be a US puppet and chances were that in order to consolidate her power against Pakistan military and mullahs (PML-Q was her enemy), and also to make sure that 1.5 billion dollar corruption cases against her were forever forgotten, it would be fair to assume that she would have done the US bidding at least for a year. Musharraf had reached a point where he was hesitant to do more. Us was concerned that demand for democracy was increasing in Pakistan. They tried to turn it to their advantage by planning to bring in Bhutto who would also replace Musharraf eventuially or at least to create competition between the two to be on the right side of US. It would have been quite possible that once in power, stabilized and corruption cases forgiven, she would have played politics with all sides including terrorists. Butto was immporal and corrupt. She was rightly a victim of assassination. I was saddened by her death because US plans were disrupted. Why cant our RAW engineer such assassinations and patronize Pakistani politicians and Taliban terrorists. If we gave millions to Masud (afghani terrorist) and told him Azad Kashmir would be for him to rule along with a section of Afghanistan, there is a good chance e would do Indias bidding.

Remember Manhmohan Singh as PM has to be diplomatic so as not to earn the eire of Pakistani's and draw the attention of Bin Laden and his cohorts to India in this troubled times. Media by saying good things about Bhutto and even Musharraf is helping in conduct of our foreign policy whic is what is practiced world over- speak sweet to create or shape right perceptions about ourselves or our intent in enemy country but plan strategically

I am extremely happy she died and the way she died!
by anir on Jan 02, 2008 12:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I said that earlier and people called me all kind of names.

Please remember that she was instigating and stoking jihadis and Pakis against India. In all her previous election campaigns.

Do not forget, Indians had to pay cost of it by their blood...and still paying it in blood!

Please realise it and keep proper perspective on such things.

She was India's arch enemy.

truth
by Mohammed Islamul on Jan 01, 2008 11:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Though this was the truth from the beginning, the Indian media simply gave benazir a martyrdom until now.

Shame on our media for not opening the eyes of young indians until now. Atleast better late than never.

The last week, I was merely upset that we Indians had forgotten her rhetoric.

Don't blame the media, the media were always controlled by govt. Any press which showed even the Bangladesh calamity lost their ads and subsidies.

If Benazir Bhutto's killing is not investigated fairly and elections are not free and fair, and if a neutral caretaker government is not put in place, it can lead us to a crisis beyond anyone's reach

Nawaz Sharif said that.

His brother, Shahbaz Sharif, said on TV, that public anger could spin out of control.

The fury in the province of Sindh, the home base of the Bhutto family, was so intense that the possibility was raised that Sind might split off as a separate entity. There were strong undercurrents for separation from the federation of Pakistan in the province of Baluchistan and North-West Frontier Province as well.

But elsewhere in Pakistan, there were only scattered reports of violence on New Years Day, primarily in Hyderabad and nearby Nawabshah, the hometown of Benazir Bhutto's husband Asif Ali Zardari.

In the meanwhile critics question Zardari's ability to follow in his wife's footsteps. There is a sizable anti-Zardari contingent in the party, several politicians have acknowledged. In the past he was not the least interested in governance, but in deals.

While Bilawal Bhutto Zardari brings the much-needed continuity and symbolism of the family / dynasty, it is his father who will be the critical figure over the next several years. But his reputation ( "Mr. Ten Percent" ) and history promise a far from smooth ride for the PPP, with some fearing a potential split.

Amen ! Amen !! Amen !!!

Thanks for reminding us, Guru -- this truth about Benazir. No Indian should forget "The shrewd woman she was".
This was just toooo Goooood !

We should also revisit Mohan Guruswamy's earlier articles on Rediff. They are worth the time spent, particularly "Musharraf: What about Baluchistan?" dated July 14, 2003.

Both the Congress and the BJP baiters will find some juicy morsels of our history here:

Brought back memories from sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long ago when we were just kids listening to AIR during the 1971 war. What a super way to jog us to remember the passing of the year or years.

she got killed by her own baby. so she should not be complaining. she had only meant trouble for india by supporting jihadis. so has her father. indira gandhi (khan?) gave away our land to her dad. i dont know what made her do so. but even then that paki was making his countrymen eat grass and make bombs to attack us. so now u know. these millitants may even kill their own moms.

Her father Zulfi once said to India that if needed he will fight with India for 1000 years...and our Foreign Minister at that time was Mr, Chaghla around 1965 timeframe. And in 1979 Zulfi was hanged, so I guess his dream didn't get fulfilled by his own people.
