Bravo M'sieur Gautier!! You have hit the nail on the head like you do with most of the issues you address through your articles.
Its not only Bhutto but every Pakistani who harbours such sentiments. They are miserable loosers who can never accept Indian superiority; whether its cultural, intellectual, military.... And the only platform on which any Pakistani leader or government is elected and/or survives is rabid anti-Indianism. And, to try and give legitimacy to their crimes they cloak it in Islam and call it jihad. No education, exposure or enlightenment can ever change that. They can never accept the fact that existing independently they can never become even a shadow that the Indian juggernaut is. So like drug addicts or alcoholics choosing intoxication to wish away the truth, Pakistan and Pakistanis (especially their entire establishment/s) choose the anti-India route to keep away from the inevitable truth; INDIA & INDIANS WERE, ARE & ALWAYS WILL BE BETTER.

I will be sorry Abdul if someone points out your religion to make a wrong comment against you but my point is there is no Indian politician who makes fighting Pakistan as their election propaganda. India has always believed in self defence and not on attacking any country. That you also know very well being an indian.

abdul...india has never resorted to jihad in another country and has not reared terrorists to plant bombas in pakistan like the politicians of pakistan. They are backstabbing people and cowards who kill innocents to quench their anti indianism thirst!

Dear Abdul Haq, politicians the world over are of same disposition. They need some imaginary enemies for keep the gullible masses under control. We in India have Pak and in Pak they can always point their fingers at us and tell the people that India is the greatest threat to their survival. Have you heard of the story of monkey helping two casts to partition a cake? The monkey ate the cake fooling both the cats. Similarly the US fools India and Pak (sells both F-16 and makes money) and we fools are fighting with each other! I have not seen much of a difference between the common man in India and Pak. They both belong to the same ethnicity. My brother-in-law who is a marine engineer had told me many times that both Indian and Pak sailors are glad to meet each other at ports of embarkation. Some of my friends working in West Asia have also told me about their warm friendship with the Pakistanis working over there (though referred to as Greens - it may be just a harmless teasing)!
for the sake of getting favours these politicians make alla sorts of rubbish tements......but i didnt expeccted this from our pm when he made that statement....the above article only reinstates my thought.... thanks for the writer.....
Whether its Benazir or Msharraf or Nawaz Sharif or Zia or Bhutto...they never connected themselves to the masses.
They were so much busy displaying their power and uplifted status that they forgot about the masses. However they were clever enough to intelligently work out the foreign affairs in such a way so as to serve as pawns to super powers pre cold war era and then after that.
They shouted out to the rest of the world the so called sentiments of the common Pakistani man and their 'concern for Kashmiris' and hatred for Indians. By virtue of their political positions and as heads of state their statements were belived to represent the voice of the masses. It's hard to fool but the state run media helped them acheive that. But times have changed and now that their are lots of opposite and independant views in the media that the common citizen of the world and not necessarily just those in Pakistan are able to dicern the cruel story of how they are made fools day in and day out.
It's cheap !!
Greed, imperialism, hedonism, power and sadistic pleasure out of autocracy have degenerated the status of human beings to animals and these are examples to support that hypothesis.
RE:Politicians have distanced themselves from the masses for a long time...more true for Pakistan

Dear Suman Dasgupta, which political leader connects with the masses (may be there might have been some Communists leaders in the last century like EMS or AKG). A few months back I had seen on TV a great leader from Bihar who always speaks about "sosial empowerment" shooing away those assembled at the opening of a temple he constructed (and he claimed that the Devi had appeared in his dreams and asked him to construct a temple). Of all things the places of worships are the basic necessity of the poor and illiterate masses of India!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldnt agree with you more...I have to tear apart all my hair to find examples which are very very few and far between.
There were policital father figures, rebels, shrewd imperialists, strategists...but very few Gandhis..and Netajis!...so its true we do not expect any savior to come and save the world like magic...as in Harry Potter stories.
But if politicians and media are corrupt and it is unimaginable what will happen to a common man like you and me. How will be fight on and still remain positive !!
This is a tight slap to Manmohan singh & pseudo seculars in India, who are running after the muslim voters. They are the real cause of backwardness of the muslims. Atleast now the Indian media should stop creating a picture of India friendly Benzir.
When Mohd. Hanif was accused of the terrorist attack at Glassgow,This only priminister of India was having sleepless nights,BUT when thousands of Hindus in Malaysia were accused of anti national activities he was enjoying.

We should hang Afzal Guru for not accomplishing the task properly. A few politicians should have perished in the attack rather than members of the security forces!

Barkha & Rajdeep are agents of the congress party. They always speak like politicians. They are being dictated by the pseudo secular parties.
The birth of pakistan itself a problem created by then our leaderslike Mahatma Gandhi, and Nehru who has not heard the advise of then our leader Sardar Vallabh Bhai patel. The ideology behind the making of pakistan is itself is anti Inida. The leaders follows the same as usual. But our leaders may give respect to departed soul but again gives the statement like that She was friend of India. These congress leaders do not have any selfrespect and never keep the national interest above the everything else. Very sorry state of affairs of these congress leaders. We the people of India must realise it.

Dear Sanjay Joshi , why don't see the brighter side of that episode? We have got rid of considerable number of fanatic muslims in the process and also created a buffer state between Afgasthan and India. Had there been no country called Pakistan in between, we would have been the target to Taliban problems and its aftermath in Afganisthan!
As Lord Krishna said in Gita, whatever happened was for good and whatever is going to happen is also for good!

then they opposed sardar patel and now adays crying why narendra modi won.they understand indians are not fools.
I am deeply impressed by Francois Gautier's eye opening article. Even though I knew of the 1000 year war cry that Benazir gave in the late 80's to her terrorists in Pakistan and spewed venom against India, I had believed that she has had a change of heart after staying for 6-8 years in exile in Britain and I thought that perhaps after experiencing and living in a democratic and free society as in the west, her eyes would have opened for democracy and closed for the distorted view of Islam as perpetrated by the terrorists. I had felt sad at the brutal way in which she was killed only because I had such changed impressions and also I saw on TV ordinary citizens of Pakistan losing their limbs and getting killed because of the brutal terrorist attack, as any human being the world over would feel against such acts. But it is indeed an eye opener to know that Bhutto actually never changed. While in India, she would ask the Advanis and Man-Mohans and Gujrals to visit their relatives again in Pakistan, but once on her soil, she would restart her agenda and all this merely aimed at getting her own foothold firm on her country's saddle and making a fortune by way of looting her country's resources. As rightly said by Francois, Zardari was called 10 percent because he commanded 10 percent as commission out of any deal done by Benazir whether with respect of buying F16's from the US or buying some armoured vehicles etc. It now appears to me that her killing and death was indeed a godsend
