This is regarding the pro and anti tamil messages in this board.
Iam not a tamilian and dont hate tamilians. But this is my analysis. I consider myself as an Indian first. A Telugu second. I consider it my profound duty to be an Indian first. On the same lines comes the issue of language.
India is united through diversity. Diversity doesnt mean each of us are completely diverse compared to others. There should be something in common along with diversity. Religion, Culture and Language are three things that can be made common in this diversity. I feel there should be a "National Language". Hands down...Hindi should be the national language. Regional language can be the official language. Understand the difference between national language and official language.
If I dont have any issues in learning a foriegn language like English....why should I have egos/issues in learning Hindi. Even if I dont learn Hindi why should I oppose other people from learning Hindi. Let us all accept that in Tamilnadu Hindi is hated for reasons best known to them. Even if you dont encourage learning Hindi....dont have bands/strikes etc etc opposing Hindi...That is ridiculous. There is a difference between being nonchalant and having hatred. In Tamilnadu....it is hatred....not nonchalance. That is bad for us Indians.
To end things....I have observed that we fight a lot among ourselves in Rediff boards. But frankly speaking I have the confidence... WE ARE ALL UNITED..when it matters.

I don't agree Andhra people taught software technology to whole India, the private engineering collages owned by the politicians in Maharashtra and Karnataka provided the engineering/MCA degrees for migration to USA. But I agree Andhra people are very nice, friendly and patriotic. I have met some great human beings in Andhrites. Thank you Andhra for supporting Hindi and helping make India strong. Other states that have supported Hindi are Maharashtra, Gujarat and Bihar.
Tamils where-ever they are, succeed in their chosen profession. Tamils are like jews, smart and highly intellectual. Given freedom, Tamil Eelam would soon become like Singapore. This is the fear of the North Indians and the Southern Sinhalese. Sinhalese messed up the country big time and it will take another century to get Sri Lanka on the right track. Sri Lanka going backwards and India going forward, Why? Economic and political stability, freedom of expression and respect for all ethnicities the RIGHT TO LIVE. AS LONG AS INDIA KEEPS PLAYING DOUBLE GAME, THERE WILL BE NO SOLUTION IN SRI LANKA. Wiping LTTE means wiping out North-east Tamil population. LTTE won't die without a fight. YOU SHALL SEE IT COMING MONTHS...!!

I agree: In Colombo some of the biggest congloromates are Tamil owned. In Malaysia the richest as well the most respected economist is Tamil. In Singapore the FInance Minister as well as top finacial and legal professionals. In New York, the top Hedge Fund Superstar is a Tamil. Many more top professionals. Same in California. IN Australia the biggest Private REal Estate guy is Tamil. In UK as well Tamil medical and academic guys are well respected.
No Dout an independent Eelam will overtake Singapore in 2 years.
The tamils have suffered a lot of discrimination. There is no future and LTTE was an act of desperation. There should be basic decency and rights for all whether Prabhakaran survives or not. It is difficult for India to play much of role as we have gained a lot of ill will over the years.
Sri Lanka had everything going for them, but they have to get real to have some future. Without Murali where will they be? Sri Lankan tamils have acquited themselves very well abroad and are talented. The Sinhalese are much behind them in work culture and have enjoyed some free rides. Time they realise which side of the bread is butter. Please give equal rights to all. All will benefit.

Agreed with u Shiva with regards to equal rights t o tamilinas in SL and other places, Tamils is one of the hardworking and intelligent, u guys made blunder by killing Rajiv, thats where almost all Indians against any kind of help to tamilians in SLanka

A long time back I read a news in INDIA TODAY magazine that Rajiv called Prabhakaran to Delhi for talks. And put him in the compultion to obey his terms otherwise face consequences. At that time Prabhakaran played tactics to get away from Delhi. Latter Rajiv Gandhi remarked all Tamils are traitors. And sent PKF to Sri Lanka on pretext of helping Tamils but acted against them. So got the results.

Actually it was worse .. Prabakaran was totally helpless locked up in Delhi and wanted to call it a day .. This was when some "advisors (foreigners and Dravidian Politicians") came in and promised support for him to continue ..
He wasnt sure .. then India (IPKF) allowed the 12 LTTE guys incl. 2 commanders to die at the hands of the SL Army after the Pact and another LTTE cadre fast himself to death. After that there was no going back .. LTTE had to fight ..
What Rajiv and his advisors did was unforgivable .. locking up a trusting guy and making him feel helpless.
Just think, if a guy who agrees to mediate suddenly locks you up in a room and forces you to agree to something.
Whatever .. its a sad tale. But acts of terror have no justification.

I am not favourating Prabhakaran. I am asking justice everywhere for Tamils.If Prabhakaran live or die it doesn't matter. I want justice for Tamils in every field. See otherside angles too. I am a true Indian unlike you pseudo Indian.

The killing of Rajiv by LTTE cannot be condoned. Let us not hold all the tamils accountable for that, just like for Indira killing. I am of opinion one should always find ways to adjust to your country system. My interaction with some Sri Lankan tamils made me aware of the pain they have undergone and the utter hopelessness of their life in Sri Lanka. I will never compare that to the lives of tamilians in Malaysia, who I know are much better off than even our own, despite the obvious discrimination.
Anyway, India should just stay out of the matter as we have ill will with both the groups.

Thanks. My inputs are are always according to logic and never emotional. Never will I abuse anybody, even by thoughts. I attain close to Sat Chit Anand by that attitude! I try to add as much facts as I have to share with people. You multiply your knowledge and perspective by that. I never abuse anybody by religion as all are basically good. I have experienced that in my life.
Sinhalese are the buddhist version of Taliban. Completely deviating from the teachings of Buddha. The SL government is run on anti tamil sentiments like anti India sentiment by pakis. Daily such statements are made by the gov to keep the Sinhalese ppl happy. JR Jeyawardhaney told that he will wipe out LTTE with his junior home guards within two weeks. Chandhrika wanted two months to finish LTTE. Rajapakshe gov is speaking about the six monts target for the last two years.
