Bhutto was the only positive aspect of Pakistan. A moderate western educated highly charismatic leader leading an Islamic nation.

We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it

Stupid comments
by ninteacha on Dec 28, 2007 02:18 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Some of the comments here are rather stupid and ignorant. We should consider ourseleves citizens of the world and if an act of terrorism occurs in our neighbors place, it is quite possible that it will come here too, we are not immune to it. We have to identify who are the like-minded people in Pakistan and help them defeat the talibanisque people over there, not just clubbing all of them together as pakis and leave them to their fate; even if it is sharrif or imran khan or whoever. Remeber it is not the ordinary people of pakistan who fought with us all along these years, it was the military and the mullas.

Mourning....?
by Gagan on Dec 28, 2007 02:00 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why should India mourn her death? She got what she deserved, from the same barbaric force she created, called Taliban. Even otherwise, it was a foregone conclusion that being a leader of a Paki party, she would be exposed to the same forces that she is a member of, i.e. islamic ideaology subscribing to fanaticism.

If some one in your family dies why should the neighbors observe silence. what is so special auot some one dying in your family?
Gagan it is out of respect for the deceased and not for his/her work, she may have been good or bad with India that is beside the point, all we are concerned that a life has been terminated prematurely. This is not the right way to stop some one in there tracks.

As an Indian you should remember that she was the one who instigated the kashmir trouble. she was the one who is responsible of killing of thousands of innocent kashmiris. So finally the very frankenstein she created killed her.

With or without regard to history and the general enemity fostered by either Benazir or Mush or any of these politician bit ch es, this unfortunate event shows the vulnerability of paki democracy n in such volatile situations its supremely important tht democracy should be restored as soon as possible, imagine a country full of religious bigots who call themselves Jihadis taking over Pak slowly backed by ISI hardliners and get closer to the nuke ......!! damn that sounds crrazy rt? hope evrything gets better if not worse .....for Pak themselves or otherwise....blood is no solution ..it nver was...

assasination of benazir bhutto
by Sameer Agarwal on Dec 28, 2007 12:18 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is rightly said "As U Sow, So shall u reap. But what happened today can only be described as ghastly act of cowardice. killing a woman, how coward could fanatics get. yes benzair was the one who created thems and she had to pay the price, but did she really deserve such a death. Of all hue and cry, my first response was god somebody got killed, and that is sad.

Its a loss to the whole world
by Prabhloch Singh on Dec 28, 2007 12:16 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The whole world as lost a charismatic leader. May her soul rest in peace. The people of India and Pakistan should unite and not let the terrorists or the politicians to control their mind. Peace should prevail and we should put an end to arms race. No religion teaches hatred, its only selfish people who misinterpret religion for their selfish motives. Terrorism is a product of cheap politics and poverty.
