Thank you Mr.Kumar for an excellent piece. It is people like Perumal who have protected our freedom desrve to live. It is appalling to see the politicians and rapacious bureaucrats and businessmen plundering the country using that freedom. Perumal is the real protector not politicians like Karunanidhi who exploit by whipping up narrow parorchial sentiments and filling people with hatred.

What non-sense you are talking? Karunanidhi belongs to a group which believes in reincarnation of the Krishna, Ram, Ravana, and many other hindu gods and saints to move India forward for the next several thousands of the year. Please be careful before you brand somebody anti Ram or anti Hindu.
Dear Anil, As a former Mig 21 pilot can you put to rest the rumors about the Mig 21 being a flying coffin....or at least state your experience with this aircraft ? It will be eye opening to listen to your side of it as I am tired of this irresponsible media blitz that is making a mountain out of a mole hill. All the pilots I have spoken to have said that it is a great aircraft and calling it the Flying coffin is plain dumb and stupid and looks at this ac in isolation. Would love to hear your side of it.

Dear Anil, I second Major Navin's request. This would, for sure be of interest to many of us civilians too who have otherwise been widely mis-informed about the true facts of this Combat Aircraft from various sources that include news,politicians and other mass communication and entertainment media who are the first to spew venom about this aircrafts true capability when ever there is a mishaps involving the aircraft. Sure Sir, if rediff permits. If MiG-21s were coffins with wings as alleged by the media, I wouldn%u2019t be alive today.
Perumal's story should be an eye opener for all of us. How lucky we all are , to be able to sit in front of the computer and express our views on this board. Our life is so comfortable we dont even realize it. W get angry at different views and hurl abuses at each other. Thanks to rediff for such nice articles.
