AWESOME ARTICLE B. RAMAN
by Simple Guy on Dec 25, 2007 12:05 AM  Permalink

HATS OFF B. RAMAN. You Rock! Thanks to Rediff for having B.Raman deliver these colums.
Hats off to Gujarat people. They voted in high numbers and spoke with one voice to select right party and leader. People who work hard for the state and people's welfare, development and security(which is exactly what Mr. Modi has done) gets to be their leader.
Mr. Modi is moving forward. Its shame to see Burkha dutt and Prannoy Roy unable to move forward, still stuck in 2002. They should officially join Congress Party and strip themselves of their journalist profession.

Gujrat strongman Modi
by Ranjan Watson on Dec 25, 2007 12:04 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Modi can display cynicism of a dispassionate journalist. Karan Thapar recalls when he interviewed Modi, long before he became the CM, he derided the RSS run schools as complete failures in comparison to the Bhavans. Modi is a strong leader, as Raman says he kindles the Hindu pride. However, unlike Bharatiyar, who epoused it for a selfless cause -the freedom struggle,- Modi does it for political gains, which is fine. However, the self-styled secular media's lament is not without reason. The daylight murders of women and children in Gujrat warrant justice. What about killings indulged by Islamic militants, displacement of Kashmiri Pundits, bomb blasts claiming innocent lives all across India, yes I hear the counterpoints. You are all right they need justice just as those who were butchered in Godhra and elsewhere in Gujrat following the incident. What is undesirable is the numbness to murder and mayhem. The poll result is typical of Gujrat. For Gujratis nothing matters more than their Dhanda and Dharm, (business and religion) in that order. Modi played to these ground realities and struck a chord with the electorate. All said, he is a pracharak gone power hungry. As a pracharak he leads a life dedicated to service of the country and his culture, as a power hungry politician he will not bat an eye to repeat a post Godhra pogrom. My two cents; I may have got everything wrong.

Holding fierce pride in their identity, Sikhs have for decades been seen as off-limits by the missionary machine but not anymore. In a alarming trend, evangelism has begun to tread on the Sikh faith as well.
Every aspect of Punjabi society is being overwhelmed with this new wave of assertive anti-national Christianity. Besides programs in Hindi, Punjabi TV channels have been deluged by Christian programs even though the Christian population of Punjab is less than 1%. Taking aim at Sikh youth, animated films and childrens books on Christianity are freely distributed by missionaries.
Because of the strong adherence to tradition by Sikhs, missionaries have attempted to repackage Christianity. Jesus is called Satguru, church is referred to as Satsang and choir singing is called Kirtan. Choir boys in Punjabi churches wear turbans to attempt to minimize the variation between Sikhism and Christianity. However, despite these attempts to disguise Christianity as a version of Sikhism, missionaries still cannot hide their intent: to destroy the Sikh faith & Indian culture.
The lead is taken by Malayali christians with money from US, Uk & before long priests will start their pastime of molesting kids.

What happened in Godhra was wrong. But why hold Modi responible for that. If any one have proof, they should approach the Supreme Court for deliverance of Justice. Most of the guys who complain against Modi conveniently forget the atrocities commited by Congi men like Jagdish Tytler etc after the death of Ms Indira Gandhi. Rajiv Gandhi even justfied the killings. Where are those NGO's who fight for justice for the people of Godhra. We will appreciate their effort more if they fight with same zeal against the Congi goons who murdered more than 3000 sikhs mostly women and children. Are sikh lives cheaper than the lives of other minorities.

A Roman Catholic nun pleaded no contest yesterday to two counts of indecent behavior with a child in connection with accusations from the 1960s when she was a principal and teacher at a Catholic school in Milwaukee.
The nun, Norma Giannini, 79, faces up to 20 years in prison for what prosecutors say was sexual abuse of two male students.
Although dozens of nuns have been accused of sexual abuse, often in civil lawsuits, Sister Giannini is one of the first to face criminal charges, said Anne Barrett Doyle, co-director of BishopAccountability.org, a group that compiles reports about abuse in the Roman Catholic Church.
Mary Pat Fox, president of Voice of the Faithful, a lay group formed in response to the Catholic sexual abuse scandal, said she hoped the case would encourage more victims of nuns to come forward. I think this is the tip of the iceberg, Ms. Fox said.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Milwaukee County district attorneys office, Sister Giannini repeatedly assaulted the two boys while they were in middle school at St. Patrick School. The complaint said the assaults included intercourse and occurred in numerous locations, including a convent and a classroom.

Surat, December 18 Around 2,000 tribal men and women from different villages in South Gujarat, who had converted to Christianity, re-embraced Hinduism on Monday evening at a religious ceremony ( sammelan) at the Shivaji ground in Tapi district.

They took an oath by the fire in the presence of Jagat Guru Acharya Narendra Maharaj and submitted affidavits that they won't convert to Christianity ever again in the future.

The people had started gathering at the venue since Sunday night listening to the Jagat Guru's teaching before re-converting to Hinduism at the ceremony a day later.

Narayan Solanki, a disciple of Narendra Maharaj in Tapi district said, "There are many disciples of the Maharaj working in different villages of Vyara, Dharampur, Songadh, Mandvi, Ahwa-Dang, Vasda and so on. They visit these places and interact with the tribals who have been baptised earlier by various missionaries and convince them to return back to Hinduism."

According to Solanki, the Maharaj also runs an ashram at Naneej village in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. It was after a visit to one such ashram that they became motivated to become his disciples. "We visit different villages and persuade those, who have been baptised, to come back into the Hindu fold," said Solanki.

Scores of internationally funded Christian missionaries with tens of thousands of operatives in India are targeting Harijans, Dalits & SCs among Hindus for conversion to Christianity with grains & money.
One of their arguments against the dalits continuance in Hinduism is that Hinduism imposed untouchability & degradation and isolation upon the Dalits. The multi-national Christian (MNC) enterprises say that in Christianity, there is NO untouchability & universal brother hood & Jesus Christs message of compassion would enable Indian Dalit converts to surpass the upper castes in Hinduism. This is totally hollow & false is obvious if we look at inhumanity Christianity practiced on lesser breeds of men.
Christian nations & standard bearers like Portugal, Netherlands, UK,Spain and Italy practised slavery in the most despicable way. These nations launched business enterprises to buy black African natives in Africa from local agents some of whom were chiefs of the native tribes. The companies of these Christian countries built castles the grandest of which was the Cape Coast Castle in Gold Coast now Ghana. There were 30 such slave-holding forts, to built and maintained by the European Christian trading powers; Swedes, Danes, French, British, Dutch and Portuguese. Slaves purchased from slave hunters were impounded in these castles till slave ships transported them across the Atlantic to the US & West Indies to work in cotton fields.

Unlike my culture where I look after my parents dutifully till the end of their life, in US there is no family value reason is I Fallow Hinduism they don't. So every relegion has Plus and Minus the way you people post hatred messages against Hinduism will make as more aggressive and United!!

Do a google search on "Why I quit going to Church" by Rupert Hughes and you will vomit when you pick up the red lined unholy book to read. I can assure you you will be rid of the disease called christian cult. Please not Rupert is of your favorite color- white. You will also read there about the multiple gods of the cult where pedophilia was born and widely practised by those behind the pulpit.

The challenges of Islam - @ balaord
by s b on Dec 24, 2007 11:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Balaord, I tend to be secularist and do not jump into religious debates. But list that you refer to (Greatest inventors)has 1 moslim and about 25 xtians. I do not see xtians jumping to prove a point. See, this is the difference, we all practically agree the leadership of Europe in modern science. I am a hindu and I do not feel defensive when I read their books, theories and ideas. That is called INCLUSIVENESS. The more we mingle and exchange ideas, the more we progress. Even Islam was progressive in its nascent stage. Arabia gave the world a lot of ideas, artistic and scientific.

However, later it closed its windows, stopped new ideas and EVEN persecuted new thoughts. When you do that even great civilizations die. China closed its door and from a world leader in science and technology it becam a nation tamed by Europians - imagine a country that invented gun powder and rockets - enslaved by people who just improved upon their own concept. The reason is that in China the ideas flowed outwards but inward flow was stopped.

Same thing happened in India. After numerous aggressions our ruling and religious class closed the civilization and one of the most modern nations of that time slipped into slavery.

The point is not whether muslims had Al Jazari. The point is even when they had him, they are in dark ages of engineering and science. This is because Islam's preachers do not want new ideas. They think they know the ultimate truth. There is no scope of reform in Islam.

Evolution of Man: The earth is a planet in the solar system. The earth came into being about 4500 million years ago. At first, it was in the gaseous state. Gradually, over a period, it solidified and land formed. Water bodies developed on land. Algae-like plants developed in water. At about this time, unicellular micro-organisms were formed. Animals on earth evolved in stages from these unicellular micro-organisms. The process of development of the living world %u2013 from unicellular living beings to man %u2013 is known as evolution. This evolution has taken place over millions of years.

Today's man evolved in stages from ape %u2013 a monkey closely resembling man. The two main stages in this evolution are Ho-mo Ere-ctus and 'Ho-mo Sap-iens'. The word Ho-mo indicates man and Ere-ctus indicates 'with upright spine'. Ho-mo sap-iens means the wise man. At this stage, he began to make fire and devise stone implements.
