I dont understand the concept why is there a huge battle of words on in the comments section over which religion shud wipe out the other.. And i think all of us here are educated enough to understand that there is place for every one in this world.. no religion no god has ever said to wipe out all the other religions,, and the most common Misunderstanding in this war is that Quran says to wipe out the unbelievers,, Am a muslim (atleast i think so) i hate alqaeda.. I have never fought any other religion nor have my brothers or so any other muslim i know.. i have got loads of friends hindu, christians, sikhs, marwadis, gujratis, dalits i trust them they trust me, so what makes me sad is a few people who call themselves muslims (a few) blow up markets temples or any place they like.. Does a bomb identify whose a muslim whose a hindu,, no it kills each and evrybody,. so whose to blame is it the whole muslim community who is to blame and who says muslims dont feel india is there country, am an indian and proud to be so,. I celebrate diwali, christmas, onam, holi.. I have been to a temple and many wud be shocked to know that a muslim went to a temple and dint kill hindu's( sarcastic rite ).
My request to you all is to open ur eyes look at the truth,, No Indian wants india to be devided, we all want to live in India as Indians.. Its jus few Politicians and a few mischief mongers who differentiate between sects and religions,,

The Violent phrases of Quran came at a time when the meccans had vowed to wipe out any of the small amount of muslims,, And any knowledgable Alim or mullah would know that.. Those phrases were Based on a certain time.. Is it applicable for the muslim communal and muslim terroist. everyday 100 of people dying in kashmir. there families and thier hopes get destroyed.no muslim leader condeming. innocent people were killed in the Bomb blast. only you will cry when some thing happend in Gujarat, that to it is provoked, when people were burnt in train. In malaysia(ruled by muslim ) jungle law for peaceful demostration. in pakistan hindus living as a slaves. they cannot wear the own hindu culature dress.Boms will not identify the people, but terrorist will identify the people that you dont forget it.you will tell only when you face a problem.you have to tell when humanity faces problem. then you will be justified or otherwise nature will you decide you are the supporter of communal. thanks to rediff.

It is deeply disturbing to hear that Modi has not given even a single ticket to a Muslim in Gujarat assembly elections. It amounts to totally excluding a particular community from the democratic process. The long term consequences of such exclusion are not going to be good. It is true that Muslims these days are becoming prone to extremism, but excluding them from the mainstream is not a solution to the problem. Closing the doors of development to Muslims would only drive them to a state of utter hopelessness and ultimately, the unemployed Muslim youth would think that they will have nothing to lose by becoming terrorists. I only hope that Modi would display more intelligence in the next five years and start taking steps to bring the highly alienated Muslims of Gujarat back into the mainstream.

Modi must be giving tickets to deserving people, I am sure he just dont want to give tickets for appeasement. Congress and others just do it for vote bank, also they always wants to just distribute the tickets for the sake of saying the s/he is muslim (or non-hindu) but they dont care what s/he is capable of, just like reservation. In Indian state politics it often turns out to be the case that the sitting MLA banks on the strength of the party or the state leaders to win the seat. Many a time, it is not the clout of the MLA that gets him elected, but the charisma of someone else. In this case that someone else is Modi. Many of these MLAs otherwise have very little clout with the public. In fact, Modi introduced around 49 new faces into the elections. It is a bit heartless to not introduce even a single candidate from the Muslim community.
Now, coming to credibility, I REFUSE to believe that there is not even a single Muslim in Gujarat who has the credibility to stand in an election.
Also, I am not suggesting that Muslims will vote for Muslims or that Hindu MLAs don't listen to the grievances of Muslims. What I am telling is that democracy needs to be an accommodative process, where one needs to include all the sections of people.

The comments by some of the quoted Muslims show how much they have lost hope. The BJP not giving any ticket to a Muslim is very much according to its stance, but the Congress giving a measly 5 seats, even after its much-purported pro-muslim stance is even more abhorring. Atleast the BJP have not been hypocritical in that aspect.
But the loss is of Gujarat, and the whole of India. The more you push a certain group of people towards ghettoisation, the slide down becomes that muc faster, and is a loss for everyone.

Well the holier-than-thou attitude is to blame for all this. Once everyone has the courage to own up to their mistakes (the ideal situation), we would not have needed to complain. Unfortunately, that is not the situation, and the blame game doesn't help in this.
