There is nothing in the election results that was not expected. The BJP has won but with a reduced majority of 11 seats. So what is there to be so euphoric about.Nothing is going to change as far as the Indian polity is concerned. This victory is not going to ensure BJP victory at the centre or the communist defeat in W Bengal. The present equations will continue, more or less. The BJP should come out of its Ramayan mould and not see Ram and Lakshman in everyhing. The Congress should buck up its ideas and forget about Rahul Gandhi and organise itself on the basis of grass root leadership and issues affecting the common man.He wants development and efficient service from the Govt in all spheres without daily harrassment and corruption. He is not interested in dynasty, ideology or theocracy.

The election results are spectacular because Modi won these many seats in spite of rebellion by formidable politicians like Kesubhai in his own party. You have to give him credit for losing only 11 seats
I am very interested to listen Shorabuddin & Afjal Guru's elder brother Javed Akhtar's comments on Modi's victory.Come on poor Javed Sab speek something.
Congratulation to mr. Modi and all top leaders of BJP.Now atleast all the opposition party should learn the lesson that they can not ignore Hinduism and hind sentiments.
I congrats from heart to the voters of Gujrat who gave a judgement that Modi is really a Common Man (CM). The results proves that Modi had initiated development projects and earned a image for himself and Gujrat at International level.
My suggestions to: Bull-shit Sonia Gandhi, Products of Pesudo Social School (JNU) Seetaram Yechuri and CO.. should shut their mouth. Agents are KGB, China & LTTE can only have a foolish thought that RAM never existed. It was the mastermind of Sonia Gandhi (and her catholic chelas) to file a petition in court that RAM never existed when they realized that the issue turned against them they made LAW MINISTER & SECRATARY a scapegoat.
Through sonia & her chelas to ITALY..
IN SOLIDARITY JAI MODITVA (read development and positive worship towards RAM)
AND ALSO MY SINCERE CONDOLANCES TO NDTV , TIMES NOW, CNNIBN, TITSA, ET ALL. MAY GOD GIVE YOU ALL THE STRENGTH TO BEAR THE UNBEARABLE VICTORY OF BJP AND NARENDRA MODY. BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME. However 2002 will become 10 years old by then. Keep flogging the dead horse. !!!!

This guy Achyut Yagnik ?? Whos that fella ? I read his so called analysis here on Rediff where he was all gung-ho on Modi loosing and Congress winning. He seems to be out dated ans stale. Doesn't have a clue of current ground realities..Of course Sheela Bhatta finds some how manages to find this kind of Junk from some corner to make look Modi and BJP bad..now they have to suck up their spit..
Congress lost as the party inroduced leaders from Maharashtra.Rane,Deshmukh etc.Maharashtra is not doing well compared to Gujrat. There is encounter case of Khaja Younus in Maharashtra. cpm has Nandigram worst tnan Gujrat2002.All these factors helped BJP

Congress leaders-other than Sonia Gandhi-are not willing to admit that Madam has become a liability to them. She is not a mass leader. She cannot connect to the people during her public meetings. Congress is keeping her at the top solely because of her surname "Gandhi" and to ensure that party does not get split into 1000 splinters. It is in the interest of BJP to ensure that Sonia continues to head the Congress party and Dr Manmohan Singh, who is another non-mass based leader as Prime Minister. Congress is unable to come up with issues/slogans, if not tangible development, to generate enthusiasm amongst their grass root workers and the people. I'm no fan of BJP though!!

Dear Damini all said is correct but I think if you want progress and development for the country then become fan of BJP
devate in cnn ibn, ndtv, erv urdu always talk about 90% poor people are muslim in indaia because of govt not doing anything for them but they do not talk about their increasing population 10% more compare to sikh, jain, budahism, hindu. sikh, jain budhaism never said to govt that they r poor because they have small family they r happy. but even in india everywhere muslim like in bolywood sharuk salman amir more people are rich than other comunity. if walk through muslim street everywhere their would be very croud, & under one roof use to live 8 to 10 people.

There are very rich muslims in this country like Aziz Premji and the many Khans of Bollywood. Apart from these I know of extremly rich industrialists from this community. If some of them are poor as is the case with all the other communities, why should only Muslims want doles from Govt. which comes from Tax payers money. Why are the rich Muslims not building educational institutions ?

Thank you for pointing out there are rich business men in our Muslim brothers also. If the Rich Muslim people come forward to help the community then who will support the point that Muslims are the only poor and backword people. Rich and poor are in all castes and communities and religions. At my home town Bohoris were the only wise people to send their children to Convent Schools.
