Why? Many muslims will take orders from the Imam Bukhari and the likes!!
Also, I do not support the histerics of the rabid hindu guys!! I don't think Modi won by the votes of the rabid hindu voters. I think he showed what he could do in the last five years and the moderate gujaratis liked it. It is always about swinging the median voter!!
I think Modi has done a good job and promises to do even better.
I say, if he provide good administration and a riot free gujarat in the coming years, he become the prime minister.
Frankly, we need people who will not play to popular politics but provide popular development. He is a no-nonsense guy who shows the potential of giving India real development.

You are writing this kind of message and getting this kind of freedom of speech because you are a country like INDIA. You shd be proud of it.

Media's Hate Modi campaign flops
by ramiah vasudevan on Dec 23, 2007 06:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Modi has proved that he is the favourite of masses by his convincing win. The Hate-Modi campaign by the biased media has boomeranged, helping him to win comfortably. The TV analysts of results in the beginning gave coloured projections saying it would be a close fight and the Congress may be even able to form a govt! It was Sonia Gandhi who tried to attack Modi by her "maut ka saudagar" remark and the Congress paid for it dearly. It is a triumph of democracy that despite a hostile media which likes to dig up skeletons, talking about the riots and totally ignoring the development of Gujarat under Modi, that the people voted for a leader who knows where he is going.

R. Vasudevan

Next step for Modi -- the national stage
by Hebbar R on Dec 23, 2007 06:40 PM  Permalink

First the media said that Modi will loose. Then they said that he will win a simple majority and that the Congress will gain a lot in this elections. Now when the results have proved them all totally wrong and Modi has left Congress licking its wounds, these Modi haters have now started a new campaign of creating a wedge between Modi and the BJP. The media will not and should not succeed in this. Notwithstanding the support from the Congress.

advani goes to pak, falls at jinnah's feet and calls him secular. no indian can accept that a man who divided a nation on the basis of religion can be called secular. such a person should have been kicked out of the party.but what does BJP do? they make him PM candidate.
what next Mr. Advani? Osama is secular?

falls at jinnah feet ? lmfao :P you are one of those comic character in the pseudosecular camp. with people like sonia doing anything to woo anyone from the minority, not even at the cost of supporting death row terrorists. i'd say i'd take an advani who makes a jinnah remark to broker peace than someone willing to do anything to keep their vote bank intact.

a strong leader
by Sujit Shetty on Dec 23, 2007 06:23 PM  Permalink

Mr Modi seems to be a right person to the national face of the BJP. One should not forget that he has been instrumental in taking Gujarat ahead in its economical development and has ably administered the state without any riot incidents there for a substantial period of time. In a nation controlled by parties interested in using minority for their electoral gains, Mr Modi has shown that this minority appeasement is not the only criteria of staying in power. This result must have shown the Congress that just pampering the minorities is not going to keep them in power forever.

Only in India

· India is constitutionally secular while majority of political parties are based on religion and openly propagate religious and caste hatred.
· Even after having enough evidence about number of minorities%u2019 killings, central agencies do not take action against Fundamentalists.
· Minorities are falsely implicated by the central and state agencies and killed or jailed indefinitely.
· We have mass murder implicated politicians re-elected and governing the states.
· Election commission does not have any teeth to implement the constitution.
· Elections are run based on religion, caste and creed rather than development.
· Minorities are marginalized in India, while we complain to other countries regarding their minorities%u2019 treatment.
· Majority fundamentalists are allowed to arm and spread violence against minorities while India proclaims to the world that we are secular democratic country.
