So finally the results are out and Modi must be laughing his heart out sitting in front of his TV on the unending analysis by experts on his big win. The mediamen --- the psephologists, reporters, news anchors , political analysts seemed red faced and looked like bunch of jokers. Obviously Modi ultimately turned out to be that glib and complex personality who could not be fathomed correctly and no wonder the exit polls which was part psephology and part wishful conjenctures went horribly wrong. The already polarized voters of Gujrat at least seem to have perceived him as clean, man of integrity, a man who has delivered on development , a man who can protect Gujrati Asmita etc. and so they have reposed faith on him . It was Modi all the way%u2014Modi won but his prominent ministers lost. Modi won but his seniormost party leaders are dissenters. Modi won but the Sangh Parivar is not celebrating. Modi won but the BJP high command is edgy. The list can be very long if not endless. There is lot of similarity to Indiras win before emergency. I am not sure it is the best way of winning for him personally howsoever grand it might look.

Dear Sir,
I suspect that anything is written about Modi and his recent win in Gujarat is always biased.
I feel that we have to evaluate these results in a more responsible manner.
If you will see the agenda for poll in the phase 1 it was clearly development without any other communal bias. Only after phase 1 the issues of 'mout ka soudagar' and encounter was raised.
If you will see the results in the areas which went for the poll in the phase 1 BJP has improved its tally despite of the facts that congress were supporting some BJP dissidents and even in BJP some people were opposing Modi because of his functioning style.
However it was only in Phase 2 where the BJP lost more than 15 seats (19 in central gujarat) from its previous tally. Remember that some communal issues were raised during campaign.
It clearly says that people of INDIA have better understanding of Development that our respected irresponsible media and politicians.
I strongly feel that we should appreciate this and support a leader like Modi to continue his good work without any bias.
One cannot really understand what brohahua is made for Modi winning the election,CPI is doing it for last 30 years ,Even in China the communist party is in power for last 80 years .I challaenge all u BJP/RSS supporters to for a open debate ..U will see how left will win karnataka and then India

Don't reply to Sahadevan. He is a software programme written by Sitaram Yechury to write automatic messages. That is why his theme never changes and he never replies to other people's posts.

KK INDIANS HAVE ALREADY REALISED WHAT TRUE PROGRESS IS AFTER LOOKING AT THE SORRY STATE OF AFFAIRS IN WEST BENGAL. MY MOM IS FROM KARNATAKA AND I CAN SAY THAT PEOPLE OF KARTANAKA ARE NOT FOOL LIKE U TO ELECT COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT. SO STOP DAY DREAMING.
Keeping the Elections and the results aside, I begin to wonder, What is media upto.
Is Indian media especially the English media becoming a political power unto itself. They are getting more and more judgmental, biased and corny.
If one takes the case of Gujarat elections, the english media went to town maligning Modi on a very personal basis, and portraying Ms Sonia benevolence, including this article.
"Sonia Gandhi's speechwriters should be sacked for clumsy political writing" this line sums it up for me. I thought, in all my naivety, leaders were the one to provide vision and their speech prepare texts accordingly, if Ms Gandhi depends on the speechwriter provides the vision and inputs, then I am worried that we as a nation are in the wrong hands.
That apart, I was cringing as I was watching the results on various English channels, the way the news anchors were spewing acrimonious and sarcastic barbs on the panelists especially those from the BJP.
Mr. Arnab Goswami, was looking at his corny best when he couldnt resist making apparently personal remarks about Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad and Mr. Prakash Javadekar of them being very aggressive responses in the face of loaded and biased questioning by Mr. Goswami, he added that you guys werent as aggressive when the results of Uttaranchal were out.
I thought Media was an independent entity and would report and analyse news for common people, but we see an emergence of opinionated and judgmental coverage.
Look at Sheela Bhatt --- she is expecting Sonia's speech writers to be sacked while Sonia continue to give the posture of "Mary Blessing".
While Modi has to take so many sermons from everybody just because he has won, while Congress is let away with milder warnings that they have to work hard bla bla...

Well said! The media credibility is at stake - if as Sheela admits, the stories were planted by Congress.
They should atleast put a byline, story or exit poll sponsored by Congress! Or, Congress has paid us to tamper this story - for example, Satta market quote in yesterday morning bulletins?

They have lost credibility long back. No one watches news channel to "believe" story. People just consume the story and make their own interpretations. They just dont even listen to these craps from the so called experts lined by the media show-rooms!

The issue is who will expose them, what will bring accountability. I for one am against regulatory over media, but the media itself should have a strong ombudsman to censure and rein in these opinionated news STARS.
