The Tamil are one of the oldest People who have lived continuously in undivided India and SrILanka and at one time most of South Asia spoke oldTamil/proto Dravidian. The other languages and etnic groups evolved very much later. The Tamil cuture does not belong to one religion, that is why Tamils why althoug most Tamilians ( around 88% are staunch Hindus) are very secular. You get Tamil classical works realting to Hindusim, Buddhism, Jianism , Isalm and Christianity . have you ever read the Tamil Chiristian classical work called Thembavani. This was written by an Italian Monk ( called Veerama munivar) around the 16th Century It is in pure classical poetic Changam Tamil. So get lost you hybridised Dravidian from the north whose ancestors had been raped by many invaders starting with the Aryans and ending with the Islamic invaders. We are the pure Indians. You may be in the majority but like th American Negroes a re hybridised hoth potch with a masala culture apeaking a language which is bascially an amalgam of Sanskrit. Tamil,Munda,Arabic Turkish.Persian and what else and does not have any proper literature or culture other than Bollywood . Where most of your beautiful heroines have been many Tamilians or other South Indian females. Get lost. We also can be nasty.

Wanderer Iam not being offensive. It was he who was being offensive and few otherr here to. Iam getting tired of all these anti Tamils coming here and posting and questioning our loyalty. FOr your information I have close relatives who are of North Indian. Sometime you do have to give these nasty anti Tamils a littel bit of thoer medicine. Dont worry there are many dece nt people in this forum who can distingush right form wrong and do understand what the Tamils in Sri Lanka face irrespective of LTTe or not, and they understand that all Sri Lankan governments are intent in annihilating the Tamils as a people in Sri Lanka and peaceful mothods are never going to work with them. It is thess anti Tamils for what ever reason or excuse come here to make fun and deride Tamils and they will never support the Tamils however much nice or reasonable you are to them, as their hatred blinds them to the grievous injustices done to the Tamils in Sri Lanka. So even to the long term detriment of India these people will support the antI Indian/Hindu Sinhalese, as they follow the famous saying my enemy is your enemy.
LTTE Supremo Prbhakaran is reported to have injured in the air raids carried out SAF. Its real or fake still unclear. The LTTE is known to keep its leader away from the haunting eyes of the SAF. But then if what is told is correct, then its a real and serious set back to the LTTE. In the final analysis, LTTE's remaining cadre should immediately agree for a ceasefire and come to negotiation table to sort out their age old problem. India should help them to talk to Srilankans as they are out to eliminate them physically. Whether it would be possible to put an end to the age-old ethnic problem by killing its leader, is too early to say. But then, the Tigers are known to spring surprises. They are a well trained outfit and they have overcome such setbacks in the past and they are sure to spring back to life. What is a worrying fact is the suffering the Tamils are undergoing due to the Sinhalese brutality. Its time for the majority Sinhalese to recognise the rights of the Tamils within the frame work of the constitution and make them equal partners in the country. Their status today is that of a second class citizens, it should be removed immediately. The best thing the Government would be doing is giving a fair amount of representation to the Tamils in Legislature, Government and employment besides taking care of their educational needs. No discrimination on the basis of religion or language. Any attempt to bring them to national mainstream is a welcome one considering the plight

According to an interesting research, present Srilanka is not the Lanka mentioned in Ramayana. Srilanka of Kaliyuga was missing in drapara Yuga. It has emerged much later.The present country called Equador was Lanka of Ramayana period. Because of Continental Driffting Process it has shifted that far during last 6000 years. Interestingly Equador is the only country in the world who give shelter to Khalisthani or any anti-Indian criminals openly. Any link ?

Shabir..Prakash, mine as well as yours ancestors are same. They were not different for different religions. We become Hindu, Muslim or Chritian after we get our birth, God sends us without any name/title/religion.
If this article published in rediff is correct then, Prabhakaran really needs madical treatment.. now the so called messiah of tamils, Karunanidhi should come out openly in support of prabhakaran and help him and provide him shelter and medical treatment and also a safe haven ... lekin KAruna will not do anythingof this sort .. he is a timid person and can only roar .. no solid action .. hopeless baztrd

Jeyawardhane corrupted Rajeevs mind. Rajeev did not know about Jeyawardane's state sponsored ethnic cleansing of Tamils (or Rajeev did not bother). Rajeev fell for it like he fell for Bofors and other problems. Rajeev called Prabhakaran to Delhi for 'Talks'. In Delhi Prabhakaran was hept in house arrest. Rajeev would have thaught 'sale madarasi log se kya bath karna hai'. Rajeev did not listen to Prabhakaran, instead he was asked to accept IPKF. Initially there was lot of Tamil speaking IPKF soldiers, they were doing a good work in keeping the peace. But on Jeyawardaneys instruction these Tamil IPKF soldiers were recalled and Gorkha, Jhat kind of regiments were installed, they were also asked to fight the Talmils there. Finally there was full fledged war between LTTE and IPKF. Jeyawardhane was getting his job done through IPKF. IPKF did not know the forest territory there, so they were losing heavily. At this point Rajeev with the help of RAW plotted to assasinate Prabhakaran. RAW found a black sheep within LTTE and even the date and time of assasination was fixed. But, LTTEs intelligence foud out this and killed the black sheep. The defeat of IPKF and the failure of his plans to assasinate Prabhakaran was a big setback to Rajeevs ego personally. If Rajeev had come to power again, there were very good chances that he would have sent IPKF again or he would have made more plans to finish Prabhakaran. As a pre-emptive measure Prabhakaran finished Rajeev.

I live in Toronto and I directly interact with SL Tamils who are affected. I think my information is correct. When I was in India even I was in dark like you all. The media in India does not bother about SL Tamils, they dont project the problems faced by common Tamils in Srilanka.

Than where was TN before 1947.. Was in in heaven?. U shud read history. U were the first people slaved by Britishers. Madras residency of British was second after Calcutta and u were always their servants much before other parts of India. So what the hell makes u feel u were not part of the British India empire. In all parts people heard of revolts against british but I never heard (might be wrong) of anythng of this sort in TN region..
